God has been SO VERY good to me!!!
Sing His praises!!!
July 16 was one of the best days I've had in my life.
The first great thing is that on July 16, I started with the local life insurance company as a permanent employee!!! :)
The day went by so fast. When my shift was over, at 4:45, that's when things got even more interesting!!
Background... when I worked as a temp, I noticed this guy. He was shy but seemed kind. Whenever he'd pass by my cubicle, I'd smile at him and he'd smile back. When I put my things down on my last day, July 13, I saw a card on my desk; the envelope read "congrats christine". I had fun trying to figure out who sent it before I opened it; I finally opened the card.
I opened it and when I saw who it was from, my jaw dropped!! It was from the guy I liked!!! I walked over to his desk to thank him and he smiled!!
He asked me to the Brewer game Monday and if I wanted to grab a bite to eat before the game. I accepted and walked back to my cubicle with a huge smile on my face!!! :)
Fast forward to July 16... we both worked until 4:45 so he walked over to my cubicle when he was ready. We left work around 5 pm. I wasn't sure where we were going to eat because it was a surprise. He turned onto a street very close to the ballpark and started circling several restaurants. I asked him "which place are we eating at?" He smiled and said "Long Wongs". I told him "that's a Chinese place. Oh my gosh! I told you like Chinese". He simply smiled and nodded at me (he remembered)!!
He held the door for me and we walked in. A waiter seated us by a window and I was thankful for that (for any awkward moments). We ordered and talked... and talked... and talked... and talked. It seemed like we talked about everything and anything!! (It was as if I'd known this guy my whole life, and it was only the first date!!) The restaurant had a free shuttle to the ballpark and we rode it there. The game was fun, the Brewer's won! :) We had fun, cracking jokes most of the time.
After the game was over, we waited for the shuttle to take us back to Long Wongs. As we waited, we people watched. Most of the people we saw were couples... couples holding hands... couples kissing... you get the idea.
Next thing I know, this guy and I are holding hands!!! :)
We finally get on the shuttle and there's music playing in the background on the bus. We were the first ones on the shuttle and a few more people joined us. I will never forget the song that was on as this guy and I were on the shuttle: "Wonderful Tonight" by Eric Clapton. (I know, awww!!!) As the shuttle starts up, and crawls thru traffic, no one says a word. A few minutes later, the "Wonderful" song is over and another song comes on. The guy leans over to me and whispers "You look wonderful tonight"!!! (Another "aww" moment) I'm VERY thankful the bus did not have lights because I must have turned as red as a tomato when he said that!!!
He drove me home, since I don't drive. As we pulled into my parent's driveway (I live with my parents), it got VERY quiet. I think we were both unsure of what to do next. Next thing I know, he leans over to me..... I think I know what's coming.... he asks "can I kiss you?" I say "sure" and he kissed me. It was the most amazing kiss!!!!! :)
Fast forward to July 17: we exchanged phone numbers at the ballpark and he called me today!! :)
God is good, God is GREAT!!! This goes to show that prayers really DO work!I have prayed to God for a steady job AND a strong relationship. He heard my prayer and answered it. I promise to keep you informed of the happenings...
Until next time, prayers DO work!
Hi everyone. I just did a search on "blogging" and got some really good tips.
I hope to incorporate them here and in all of my future blogs.
My blog will be new and improved and, hopefully, you'll like it!!
With that out of the way, I'm going to start a new topic...

When you get to work and sit down at your desk, or cubicle, look around you. Look to the person at your left. Does he/she look happy? Does he/she look REALLY happy (happy to be at the company)?
Now take a look to the person at your right. Does he/she look happy?
I will be willing to bet both people are not happy. (And if both are happy, you just might be working with some strange people!!)
Did you ever stop to notice how most people frown? I mean, think of it!!
When you call customer service, how many people actually SOUND happy to talk with you? (Much less ask you "how are you doing today?)
I would say most people in America have permanent frowns on their faces.
Why is that??? Is it THAT hard to smile?? And laugh... oh my gosh, don't even go there!!!
"why laugh? I may feel embarrased".
Now I'm turning this blog entry to YOU, the reader................
"What was your worst customer service experience?"
Hi everyone! Ok, so I was searching thru the blogs today and I got an idea for my blog.
Where is God in the world??? It seems as if some Americans are against any religion. I mean, think about it. A few months ago there was a news story about taking the Ten Commandments out of an office building! I understand the concept of church verses state but COME ON!!! People were not forcing a religion on people!!!
It is VERY sad nowadays that everything is "politically correct".
Take the tree, for instance. In my family, it was always called a Christmas tree. Some big shot gets an idea and calls the tree "holiday tree". Come on people!!! Christmas tree sounds better and that is the reason for the tree.
I think the exclusion of religion is affecting most Americans today. How many shootings are there on a given day in one state? Some people may say "it's the parents fault". I think that is part of it but it's also because of religion. If a child is taught a religion, there might be less violence in America.
Religion MUST be present in America in order for it to be a safer place for generations to come!!
