Liar, Lunatic, or Lord?
Posted On 10/11/2008 11:12:50

There are only three choices about who and what Jesus is. He is either a liar who deceived multitudes of people - making them believe things that were not true; a lunatic, a crazy person that didn't know that he decieved people and believed Himself to be something that He is not; or, He is the one that spoke and the limitless universe lept into existance: God.

Are YOU prepared to make a defense of the deity of Jesus to your unbelieving/skeptical friends? Are you prepared like Peter admonished?

1Pe 3:15 "But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear"

I encourage you to listen to this great sermon entitles "Jesus Christ: Liar, Lunatic, or Lord". Put it on your iPod, or other MP3 player and listen over and over again. Study the scriptures. Share this with friends. And always be ready to give that answer for the hope that is in you!

God bless y'all!

Romans 5 - Justified
Posted On 09/23/2008 13:38:43

Justification through Christ is the difference between being "pardoned" and being "acquitted"; a major difference between the Old Covenant and the New Covenant.

I especially like the connection between Rom. 5:1 and Is. 32:17 where "...the work of righteousness shall be peace..." Who's righteousness, mine? May it never be! Only (and the context of Isaiah would direct our attention to) the righteousness of Christ can bring peace between us and the Father.

Too many times Christians would rely on their own righteousness to be merely "pardoned" by God. As we mature in The Lord we must accept being "acquitted" by the righteousness of Jesus the Christ.

Just some thoughts, friends.

I posted a sermon on the subject by my friend and mentor Tom Degeneffe on the Sermon Select Online website. If you would like to listen to it and discuss your thoughts about it here, please click on this link: Romans 5 Justified. You can listen right from the site, or download it to your computer for your personal collection. Better yet, suscribe to the Sermon Select Online Podcast and "Get the Word of God on your iPod!"

God bless.

Purity of Doctrine
Posted On 09/22/2008 14:07:05

Are all world views equal?

Are you ready "always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear" 1Pe 3:15?

Are you a college student? Have you experienced professors and fellow students that are of the opinion that your belief system - your "World View" is no more valid than any other world view?

Are you equiped to make an answer with gentleness and respect?

We posted a great sermon about this very subject on Sermon Select Online called "Purity of Doctrine:

Part of a three sermon series given at the Canyon Church in Anaheim, CA. the weekend of May 3rd & 4th 2008, “Purity of Doctrine” is the final lesson of the series given by Mike Rosser of The church at Winsted Hill in Franklin, Tennessee. This sermon is intended especially for those young people heading off to college, and a call to “Continue to live in Him… as you were taught” as found in Colossians 2:6-7. Brother Mike explores the subject of “world views”, explaining that our belief system is our world view, and determines how we think about the world and events around us. Young people going off to college are likely to face serious challenges, and Mike exhorts them to consider what they believe and why they believe it in order to stand against the popular notion that all belief systems are equal.

To be pure in doctrine is to keep things the way that God designed them to be, and therefore we must always ask ourselves: What does God want us to think about; to meditate upon?

Take a listen, and share it with your friends!
