The more I read about Gnosticism the more I'm beginning to agree with it. I'm just gettting to the point that I find traditional Christianity suffocating. Finally starting to cool off a bit. The cool weather is always welcomed because it makes bicycle riding easier. It is good to get back into my reading. I have a book for reading before I go to bed, one for work, and one for when I'm just running around doing whatever. It is always nice to have something to read. I got away from reading because I let a boring job make me lazy.

Nice to have the Tour de France on. Now this is a real sport. What endureance these guys have. They make riding up the hills look easy. The hills by my house just kill me and there are nothing buy hills where I live. But the scenery is great though. At least going down hill I get a rest. I guess by next summer it will be time to get the bike tuned up. I can do somethings, but it is always nice to have it tuned up. So far it is riding great, but by next year it should be time. So gas prices are going down a bit. Still don't see it going under $4. I'm not complaining about the high gas prices, because it has got me out of my car and doing more bike riding. Can get lazy just driving all the time. Now I feel my energy level rising. I thought of joining a bicycle riding club, but I probably won't. I really don't like routes that are planned. I like to just ride and see where I wind up. Then again since I work on saturday I will probably have to ride on sunday morning and rather not do that. It will interfer with church. I can always do a ride after church.
Worst thing we ever came up with is cell phones. Why do I have to listen to people's conversations. I remember when it was quiet when riding a bus or BART. I have learned to ignore people because in most cases they are not talking to me, they are on the phone. Ever get the feeling that people are afraid to be alone with their thoughts. This is probably why I like to hike to places where there are no people. I love the quiet. Best time to meditate and quiet the mind. That is probably why I like riding my bicycle. No one bothering me. It is just me and the bike. It is so zen. Best way to get the stress out of my life.
Love the new Mountain Dew flavors, but only one will survive. Hope it is Revolution. Taste like Baja Blast at Taco Bell. But time will tell.
What a horrible choice for President. One is a Marxist and the other is a Globalist. Either way we are screwed. Ever get the feeling that God has turned his back on the United States. Then who can blame him since we turned from God first. Gas prices are up, but so far it hasn't hurt me. I'm not too dependent on my car. I just use it to drive to work. If I didn't have to be at work at 4am I would just get rid of the the car, but public transit isn't running that early in the morning. Love getting on my bicycle and just cruising around. Doesn't matter where just as long as I'm riding. I also like hiking. So much to see and enjoy.
The weather is turning nice and that means back on my bicycle. Nothing like cruising around the San Francisco Bay Area on my bike. Just put mycyclocomputer on my bike. Now I get to know how fast I'm going and how many miles I have rode. Also can show how many calories I have lost. Oh the joy of bike riding. Oh the start of baseball season. I'm loving it. Who would have thought that the Oakland A's would be near the top of the division. That is what good pitching does. Hope it can last all season. I'm not asking for a lot. Not a San Francisco Giants fan, but boy do I love watching Tim Lincecum pitch. He has no fear. Just guess how great he is going to be when he starts to pitch smarter instead of power. Can't believe the Giants got him. Love the colapse of Barry Zito. He was okay with the A's, but toward the end he was showing signs of being a weak pitcher. He did get his $126 million dollar contract. Doesn't if feel like the end times are upon us. People rioting for food and stealing oil and gas. Ever get the feeling that God has turned his back on the United States. The U.S. is probably more a pagan country now. The Christians I work with probably go to church more for social reasons than spiritual reasons. Hate to say they are a lazy bunch with no kind of work ethic. Shame. If God has stopped blessing the United States maybe it because we have turned our back on him. It is sad, but probably bound to happen. If the Israelites went from God's ways and they witnessed God's blessings.
It is good to be away from my old job. The commute alone was killing me. Driving a hundred miles daily takes a toll. I did go by BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) and then hop on a bus. Recently I got a new bus schedule for the bus I was taking, I needed a book mark. AC Transit changed the last bus to 7:29pm from 9:30pm. This just means that I would not have been able to catch the bus after work. Now that my probation for my new job is done I am a little more relaxed. Probation is not very fun. Too many games being played. Now I can concentrate on doing the job and staying away from all the politics. I must admit I do not play politics too well. That is because I do not like to play them. Just let me do my job and go home. The only negative is that moving up usually depends on playing politics, but then it could bite you in the tush because you may be on the wrong side of the politics. Can't complain though because this is the job I wanted and prayed for. One of the jobs I wanted four months before I got this one didn't come through. The guy who called left off two digits of the phone number. I guess he wanted his buddy to get the job. I was ticked, but I guess God had other plans and gave me a better job. Basically I'm killing time before Thanksgiving dinner is served and the guest arrive. I'm really getting hungry now, but it won't be for another hour or so. We do things late around here.

This is my weekend bike. For the long rides.
This one is my weekday work commute bike. I leave this one locked up at the Fremont BART to ride to work and then back to Fremont BART. I leave it locked because I don't like to take it on BART. Hard to relax having to hold on to it. Riding a bike is the only way to see the sights.
I saw this and thought I would share it. Those Born 1930-1979 READ TO THE BOTTOM FOR QUOTE OF THE MONTH BY JAY LENO. IF YOU DON'T READ ANYTHING ELSE---VERY WELL STATED TO ALL THE KIDS WHO SURVIVED the 1930's, 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's!! First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they were pregnant. They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn't get tested for diabetes. Then after that trauma, we were put to sleep on our tummies in baby cribs covered with bright colored lead-based paints. We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets, not to mention, the risks we took hitchhiking. As infants & children, we would ride in cars with no car seats, booster seats, seat belts or air bags. Riding in the back of a pick up on a warm day was always a special treat. We drank water from the garden hose and NOT from a bottle. We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and NO ONE actually died from this. We ate cupcakes, white bread and real butter and drank Kool-aid made with sugar, but we weren't overweight because, WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING! We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on. No one was able to reach us all day. And we were O.K. We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem. We did not have Playstations, Nintendo's, X-boxes, no video games at all, no 150 channels on cable, no video movies or DVD's, no surround-sound or CD's, no cell phones, no personal computer! s, no Internet or chat rooms....... WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them! We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no lawsuits from these accidents. We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever. We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays, made up games with sticks and tennis balls and, although we were told it would happen, we did not put out very many eyes. We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just walked in and talked to them! Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!! The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law! These generations have produced some of the best ri sk-takers, problem solvers and inventors ever! The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas. We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned HOW TO DEAL WITH IT ALL! If YOU are one of them.CONGRATULATIONS! You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up as kids, before the lawyers and the government regulated so much of our lives for our own good. While you are at it, forward it to your kids so they will know how brave (and lucky) their parents were. Kind of makes you want to run through the house with scissors, doesn't it?! The quote of the month is by Jay Leno: "With hurricanes, tornados, fires out of control, mud slides, flooding, severe thunderstorms tearing up the country from one end to another, and with the threat of bird flu and terrorist attacks, are we sure this is a good time to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance?" For those that prefer to think that God is not watching over us...go ahead andignore this. For the rest of us...pass this on.
