Many today try to say Jehovah's witnesses and mormons are christians. They are not! Do not be deceived. Stand up and deny these cults for what they are false man made religions and heresies. This is very cool: A logical proof that Mormonism is false Mormonism teaches that God used to be a man on another world and that he became a god (this is called exaltation) and came to this world with his goddess wife. He was able to become a god because he followed the laws and ordinances of the god he served on another world. That god in turn was exalted by his god, who was exalted by his god, ad infinitum. In other words, there is a progression of gods being formed as far back as you look in time. Truth does not contradict itself. If I gave two statements about a subject and the two statements contradicted each other, then you would know something was wrong. The law of non contradiction states that something cannot be both true and false in the same sense at the same time. In other words, truth does not contradict itself. This is basic logic. That which is true is internally consistent and contains no logical impossibilities. If something does contain a logical impossibility, then it cannot be true. Mormonism teaches an infinite regression of causes. This means that it teaches that each god was made a god by a previous god. This means that as far back as you look in time, this process has always been occurring. This means that from an infinity of time in the past, the Mormon plan of exaltation (become gods) has been in effect. The only problem is that this is logically impossible. Since it is logically impossible, this means that Mormonism is false. Let's look closer. There cannot be an infinite regression of causes. It is logically impossible. Why? Because you can not cross an infinity. In other words, in order for us to get to the present state of this god on this planet, there would have had to be an infinite number of exaltations in the past. But, this cannot be because in order to get to the present, you would have to transverse an infinity of exaltations and that is impossible since you cannot transverse an infinity -- if you could cross (transverse) an infinity of time, then it isn't infinite. Therefore, the Mormon system of infinite regressions of exaltations to godhood is impossible and Mormonism is proven false. Simple. However, Mormons will not give in to a logical proof since their testimonies are not based on facts, but on what they claim is a testimony of the Holy Spirit. Of course, all cult groups have testimonies that their church is true (proving that testimonies are contradictory and untrustworthy as a means to determining truth). Nevertheless, they are taught to "feel" theological truth, not think it through. How then do they respond to this logical proof that Mormonism is false? Normally they say that it is a mystery. Mysteries are fine, but they cannot suffice as an explanation if they contradict logic. In other words, if a principle is blatantly illogically, it cannot be true. Did you get that? It cannot be true. Saying it is a mystery means nothing if the proclamation of that mystery violates the laws of logic. Mormonism is proven false. What is the truth? Okay, so if the Mormon principle of eternal regression of exaltations is logically impossible, then what is the truth? The truth is that there is a single uncaused cause. Logic necessitates that there must be a single being who is without beginning and upon which time has no meaning or affect who is the single uncaused cause. The Bible says that God is unchanging (unlike the Mormon god) and that he has been God from eternity. This is exactly what logic necessitates as being true. The God of Christianity is not an exalted man from another planet with a goddess wife. The God of Christianity has always been God and has never been anything else. Check out the following verses. * "For I, the LORD, do not change; therefore you, O sons of Jacob, are not consumed," (Mal. 3:6). * "Before the mountains were born or You gave birth to the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God," (Psalm 90:2). What is sad is that this simple logical proof, and it is a proof that Mormonism is false, will mean basically nothing to those whose spiritual eyes have been blinded by the god of this world. * "And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, 4 in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God," (2 Cor. 4:3-4). Stand for the truth. Martin (quoted information from www.carm.org, mark slick)
Many today think that the Roman Catholic Church is just another part or denomination of Christianity. Is this true? What evidence is there for this claim? well we see that there are a few essential doctrines or teachings of the true church, it doesn't matter what denomination you are, it just matters that you have acknowledged your depravity and sin and repented and trusted in the God man Jesus Christ alone for your salvation from God's wrath for sin. Jesus Christ being the only way to salvation for all people is an essential truth that must be held too. The trinity is another, that God is three distinct persons in one, co equal, co eternal. That salvation is by Grace through faith alone. That brings us to something called imputed righteousness. This means that God became a man in Jesus Christ and satisfied his own Justice by keeping the Law for us and willingly taking the wrath for us for our sin. Read Isaiah 53. what Jesus did on the cross is credited to our account as a free gift,he gains our sin and wrath, we gain his rightness with God. we don't work with it by getting baptized, etc. Many say you must be Baptized in order to be saved, that is heresy, works salvation. Does the Catholic Church believe in this essential truth? NO they do not. They believe in something called infused righteousness. That is heresy I'm afraid, that is the difference between God doing it all and us helping him along. also believing that the Bible is the inspired infallible word of God is very important, Catholics exalt tradition over the Bible and have the Pope as infallible, not being able to make mistakes and being able to give people time off from purgatory, something that is not in the Bible, if they buy indulgences from him, he has done that this year. even mass is blasphemous because they believe they summon down the literal body and blood of Jesus every time they take it. Like Jesus' sacrifice was not enough, once for all upon the cross as Hebrews declares. Hopefully these links will help as well, words have meanings. two opposing truths cannot both be true, it is infused or imputed, the Bible declares imputed, so which will you believe the Bible or the Pope? traditions, etc can a catholic be saved? yes of course, but the overall structures of that Church are not biblical. http://www.carm.org/catholic/testimonies.htm http://www.carm.org/catholic.htm http://www.carm.org/catholic/saved.htm I pray that all will serve God and not traditions of men in Christ, Marty.
What is Christianity? What doctrines must be held in order for a person to be a Christian? Here they are the essentials. If a person deny these they deny the Biblical Jesus and therefore are not saved. It is really that important, also check out the doctrine of the trinity, that Jesus is God in the flesh, fully God and fully man, without this you are not saved; check them out: Essential Doctrines of Christianity The Bible itself reveals those doctrines that are essential to the Christian faith. They are 1) the Deity of Christ, 2) Salvation by Grace, and 3) Resurrection of Christ, and 4) the gospel. These are the doctrines the Bible says are necessary. Though there are many other important doctrines, these four are the only ones that are declared by Scripture to be essential. A non-regenerate person, or a cultist (i.e., Mormon or Jehovah's Witness), will deny one or more of these essential doctrines. Please note that there are other derivative doctrines of scripture that become necessary also, the Trinity being one. 1. The Deity of Christ 1. Jesus is God in flesh (John 8:58 with Exodus 3:14). See also John 1:1,14; 10:30-33; 20:28; Col. 2:9; Phil. 2:5-8; Heb. 1:8 1. 1 John 4:2-3: "This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world." 1. The above verse needs to be cross referenced with John 1:1,14 (also written by John) where he states that the Word was God and the Word became flesh. 2. 1 John 4:2-3 is saying that if you deny that Jesus is God in flesh then you are of the spirit of Antichrist. 2. John 8:24, "I said, therefore, to you, that you will die in your sins. For if you do not believe that I am, you will die in your sins." 3. Jesus said here that if you do not believe "that I am" you will die in your sins. In Greek I am is 'ego eimi,' which means ‘I am.' These are the same words used in John 8:58 where Jesus says "...before Abraham was, I am." He was claiming the divine title by quoting Exodus 3:14 in the Greek Septuagint. (The Septuagint was the Hebrew Old Testament translated into Greek.) 2. Jesus is the proper object of faith 1. It is not simply enough to have faith. Faith is only as valid as what it is put in. You must put your faith in the proper object. Cults have false objects of faith; therefore, their faith is useless--no matter how sincere they are. 2. If you put your faith in a vacuum cleaner, then you will be in a lot of trouble on the day of judgment. You might have great faith, but so what? It is in something that can't save you. 3. The Doctrine of the deity of Christ includes: 1. The Trinity - There is one God who exists in three persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. They are all coeternal, and of the same nature. 2. Monotheism - There is only one God in all existence (Isaiah 43:10; 44:6,8; 45:5,14,18,21,22; 46:9; 47:8). Mormons believe that many gods exist though they serve and worship only one. Therefore, they are polytheists which excludes them from the camp of Christianity. 4. The Hypostatic Union - That Jesus is both God and man. 1. The sufficiency of the sacrifice of Christ - The sacrifice of Christ is completely sufficient to pay for the sins of the world 2. As God - Jesus must be God to be able to offer a sacrifice of value greater than that of a mere man. 1. He had to die for the sins of the world (1 John 2:2). Only God could do that. 3. As man - Jesus must be man to be able to be a sacrifice for man. 1. As a man He can be the mediator between God and man (1 Tim. 2:5). 2. Salvation by Grace 1. "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith -- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God -- not by works, so that no one can boast" (Eph. 2:8-9, NIV). 2. "You who are trying to be justified by law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace" (Gal. 5:4). 1. This verse and its context plainly teach that if you believe that you are saved by faith and works then you are not saved at all. This is a common error in the cults. Because they have a false Jesus, they have a false doctrine of salvation. (Read Rom. 3-5 and Gal. 3-5). 2. you cannot add to the work of God. Gal. 2:21 says, "I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!" (NIV) 3. "Therefore no one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin" (Rom. 3:20). 1. "However, to the man who does not work but trusts God who justifies the wicked, his faith is credited as righteousness" (Rom. 4:5). 2. "Is the law, therefore, opposed to the promises of God? Absolutely not! For if a law had been given that could impart life, then righteousness would certainly have come by the law" (Gal. 3:21). 3. The Resurrection of Christ 1. "And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith" (1 Cor. 15:14). "And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins" (1 Cor. 15:17). 2. To deny the physical resurrection is to deny Jesus' work, sacrifice, and our resurrection. 3. These verses clearly state that if you say that Jesus did not rise from the dead (in the same body He died in -- John 2:19-21), then your faith is useless. 4. The Gospel 1. "But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned!" (Gal. 1:8-9, NIV). 1. Verses 8 and 9 here in Galatians are a self declarative statement that you must believe the gospel. The gospel message which in its entirety is that Jesus is God in flesh, who died for sins, rose from the dead, and freely gives the gift of eternal life to those who believe. 2. Furthermore, it would not be possible to present the gospel properly without declaring that Jesus is God in flesh per John 1:1,14; 10:30-33; 20:28; Col. 2:9; Phil. 2:5-8; Heb. 1:8. 2. 1 Cor. 15:1-4 defines what the gospel is: "Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures" (NIV). 1. Within these verses are the essentials: Christ is God in flesh (John 1:1,14; 10:30-33; 20:28; Col. 2:9); Salvation is received by faith (John 1:12; Rom. 10:9-10), therefore it is by grace; and the resurrection is mentioned in verse 4. Therefore, this gospel message automatically includes the essentials. I would also add the Bible as the inerrant, infallible word of God. For this reason, the written word must testify to the living word, Jesus Christ in order for a person to be saved. How could this happen, and the scriptures be discarded? God bless. Marty.
He was bruised for our iniquities!!!
Jesus Christ and him crucified. Everything else comes from this magnificent event. He is the glory of God. He is the ultimate man, the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. He is the alpha and the omega, the origin and the destination. One day he will speak and raise every one from their graves, those that are his will rise to eternal life, those that are not to the judgement that leads to the lake of fire. This is the Lion of the tribe of Judah. All knowing, all powerful. Worthy of all honour and praise. The co existent, co equal son of God. He speaks and it happens. Isaiah 53:5 "But he was wounded for our transgressions. He was bruised for our iniquities. The chastisement of our peace was upon him, and with his stripes we are healed". This season is about him. He achieved the greatest thing in history. He kept the law, all 613 precepts and commands of the law perfectly for all his people. He did not sin once. He magnified the law and made it honourable. He came to do the will of the father. To live perfect, to die in disgrace, to pay the fine, take the wrath, and to rise again, showing his glory. This is meekness, absolute power under control for a pure purpose, the glory of the Father. Jesus is coming back in flaming fire taking vengeance on those that know not God and obey not the gospel of Jesus Christ. This is an age of grace, a time for people to recognise his glory, his perfection, his holiness. To judge themselves by the Ten Commandments, the standard they will be judged by when they stand before God to give an account of their life. Look to the law, who are you compared to God? If you are in yourself a wretch deserving only hell like me then there is hope. This is the good news. Jesus died for a reason. We broke the law, and have a fine we can't pay, he died and took the punishment for the fine for us. Believe in what he has done and obey his command to repent, to change your mind, attitude, direction about God, sin, and turn from your sins and put your faith in Christ alone for your rightness with God. He will give you a new heart with new desires, this is being born again. Then read the bible every day and obey what you read, God will not let you down. What other religion makes any sense? look in the divine mirror, who but Jesus can clean away your sins? Everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved! For the glory of God I exist, Marty.
Many are deeply concerned for the lost, for Those that do not know Jesus. They are after all described in scripture as God's enemies, with the wrath Of God abiding upon them. They have broken his Ten Commandments and are therefore depraved, cut off from God. They follow the devil as the God of this age and not the God of the Bible. We see that a good and just God must have a day of reckoning or judgment. This makes sense. If we, as fallen beings establish courts and yearn to see a guilty criminal punished or locked away, for his or her crimes so that justice is done, and others are protected, then how much more with God. So why should we evangelise? Is it to see people saved from hell? is it because it because we will feel better or look good in front of other chistians? No. None of these are the primary motive for evangelism. We should evangelise for one reason and one reason only. Because Jesus told us to. We want to see his glory revealed. we want to see God glorified. Anything else can become humanism in disguise. We do not want to just see mans life improved in this life, but God's glory increased and revealed. Obey for this reason and you will not fail to be blesssed by God. So should we not care about the fate of the lost as we preach? yes ofcourse we should. But our primary focus must be on God's glory. His will and plans. If we do this we will be rewarded, and our evangelism will not become man centered, but God honouring. we love sinners, because we first love God. The next question is, how do we evangelise? i will try to answer this soon. Yes there is a right way and a wrong way to evangelise. God bless you as you serve God, the right way so he can be glorified, and sinners can be saved. Martin
It was really cool today. I went around the town and ran into the two mormons i had talked to a couple of weeks ago. I gave them a copy of an article of Joseph Smith's false prophecies. they didnt like that, forsome reason. apparently he didnt really make those outlandish claims that didnt come true. there church told them so. We witnessed to, many today. it was cool. i really felt emboldened again. tony and i really work well together. he just gets in there and creates conversations with loads of kids. we gave out hundreds of tracts. pray for tony, i gave him loads of info on how to witness biblically. God is really changing his approach. he will be a powerul vessel for God. many of the kids are open to listen. I got through the law and tried to create a christian worldview. They know very little, and i think it is important to teach them. I obviously try not to cast my pearls before swine. the law and addressing the conscience is essential in this. Starting in the natural and swinging to the spiritual is also critical. Allan and Tony open air preached again. Tony is really looking for direction in this. i am trying to help, but please pray for them. Allan was again attacked as he preached. The guy was scarred of by Tony and my physique or it was his girlfriend dragging him off, maybe that was it. He has a way with hecklers. God bless you all. Thankyou for your prayers. May God save them for his glory. just sowing the seed, the way Jesus did, so that he would be glorified. Martin
It was dry and warm today, which is always a blessing. Part of Shrewsbury were flooded so there was less to go around. I didn't meet any mormans today, but i did witness to athiests and satanists. After i had gone around the town i met up with Allan, Tony and Andy, who joined us today. It was a joy to see them. God has been moving mightily in our lives and has brought Allan, Tony and myself together to Shrewsbury to form a evangelism team. They are very open to the law in evangelism and encourage my imput in there preaching. Which is a huge blessing when you think they are in there forties and fifties and have preached on the streets for decades. I am in my twenties and have been street fishing for less than two years. God is good. Tony has mentioned to me that God told him to listen to me, that i will teach him how to preach the full gospel properly. He has preached, as i said for years. I have not yet open air preached. This is humility on his part, praise God that God has answered my prayers for labourers. Please pray for this team. They are not perfect, we are not perfect, but we are learning all the time. We were joined by Andy today, a ex soldier. He is more reserved and tends towards the modern gospel more. But i have had a chance to reason with him today and gave him "Hells best kept secret". I pray God will transform him through this teaching. The atmosphere has been one of tension the last couple of weeks. I was heckled by the young kids that hit Allan last week while i was walking around the town. They seem quite friendly with me at the moment, maybe it is because i am nearer there age. We went straight for it today. we started handing out tracts and Tony started talking to gangs of young people. He has the ability to get the kids talking. They usually start asking for an intelligence test. and then i am into the conversation. I spoke to athiests, satanists, and alot in between today. They were silenced under the law. They had alot of questions and i answered them with God's help. It is true that the holy Spirit brings to mind the information you need to know as you witness. I have learned it, and he pops it into my mind. Praise God! The satanists had t shirts attacking God. They knew alot of the truth, and shock horror they had a "christian background". they knew the gospel, and knew where i was going. I put the law on them and they ended the converstion after a while. They were definetely convicted. they reveled in the idea of going to hell, but did show some concern when they saw there sin and the reality of hell. I spoke to three young girls. they are hard to witness to because they are so young, but they get it when it is explained in detail. We spoke to loads today. i made a good contact with a pastor from a church in shrewsbury. he is organising an event for those that witness. they go, get encouraged and share there experiences to other christians. He was blown away by the full gospel. He saw God not me. people are used to the weakness of the modern gospel. I had a conversation with an interlectual. He put God on trial. I answered his questions, they got quite deep. It is easier when you know you can go back forwards from the interlect to the conscience. Allan and Tony open air preached again. The kids thought about attacking but were put off my a community support officer. It was biblical and powerful. I also had a question and answer session with four or five young lads. they held nothing back. God gets all the glory, he gave me all the answers. He empowered me to witness. People do not believe i am shy when they see me on the streets, because God takes over and he is as bold as a lion. I am terrified in myself. wow, what a God we serve. I see that he must take over, i must decrease, he must increase. What power there is in the true gospel. please pray for direction for the team and for the salvation of the people. But most of all for God to be glorified. God bless you all a mere vessel, martin
The Law The Law is the guide to what is right and wrong in moral behaviour. God gave the law so that people would have a guide to live by a standard by which they might recognise God's purity and their sinfulness. There are 613 commandments in th OT. they are to oversee moral, judicial, and religious behaviour. Lets open up the law to see what God is like: 1. "You Shall have no ther God's before me". God is to be the focal point of man's attention at all times. We are to worship him with all of our heart, mind, soul and strength. Anything less is sin. The bible says no one has kept this commandment. 2 "You shall not make yourself any graven images". Do not bow down to anything but God. Anything or any one you put before God is an idol. you are committing idolatry. idolaters will not inherit the kingdom of Heaven. You may worship a Jesus that suits your own desires. your God overlooks your sin, your lack of fruit. He would never condemn people, and send them to hell, just say "my God's a God of love, he won't condemn" Those that say these things are right. there God will not condemn. He cant' , he doesn't exist, he is a figment of there imagination. they have created a God in there image to suit there sins, it is the oldest sin in the book. 3."You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain" professing to be a christian, yet denying him by your life breaks this commandment. have you ever heard people say things like, "oh my g-d". this is blasphemy. God will not hold him guiltless who misuses his name, 4. "Remember the sabbath day to keep it Holy". Have you always loved the things of God. 5. "Honour your Father and Mother". this brings long life. rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft to God. In the OT those that disobeyed and hated there parients were seen as deserving death. this should make us all fear God, who hasn't broken this. 6. "You shall not kill". if you are angry without good cause you are in danger of the judgement. and if you hate your brother you are a murderer before God. 7. "You shall not commit adultery." Jesus said that if you even look at someone with lust you are a adulterer of the heart. 8. You shall not steal. if you have ever stolen anything in your life, you are a thief before God. 9. You shall not lie. all liars shall have there place in the lake of fire. a fearful statement by God. satan is the father of lies. 10. You shall not covet. have you ever desired what others have and been ungrateful for what you already have received from the Lord. who has not broken this. James 2:10 For whoever keeps the whole of the law and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all. Romans 7:7 I had not known sin, but by the law... Galatians 3:24 wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to lead us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. This is how God sees us. we share our thought life with him. He is absolutely Holy, righteous, and just. He will punish sin wherever it is found. He would be a corupt judge if he did not. God demands absolute perfection in thought, word, and deed, or else. the soul that sins it shall die. we broke the law, the wrath of God was rightly upon us. he was angry at us for our sin. we could do nothing to help ourselves. God himself stepped into the court room and paid our fine for us. he was bruised for our transgressions. He took the punishment for our sins. he kept the law perfectly in our place. make sure you have mourned for your true biblical sin. sin is breaking the law. that you have truly mourned for your sin, apologised to God, turned from your sin against God, and out your faith in christ alone, his life, death, and resurrection. without repentance and faith in christ we are lost. we must be born again, can you see that you are born again by the fruit of your life. the fruit of repentance, holiness, righteousness, the holy spirit. if not you maybe a false convert. make your election and calling sure..www.wayofhemaster.com God bless you all. Go serve your King. Martin
Personal Witnessing"How Jesus Did It. By Ray Comfort. How to address the sinner’s conscience and speak with someone who doesn’t believe in hell John chapter 4, verses 7"26 give us the Master’s example of how to share our faith. Notice that Jesus spoke to the woman at the well when she was alone. We will often find that people are more open and honest when they are alone. So, if possible, pick a person who is sitting by himself. From there, we can see four clear principles to follow: First: Jesus began in the natural realm (v. 7). This woman was unregenerate, and the Bible tells us "the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God" (1 Corinthians 2:14). He therefore spoke of something she could relate to"water. Most of us can strike up a conversation with a stranger in the natural realm. It may be a friendly "How are you doing?" or a warm "Good morning!" If the person responds with a sense of warmth, we may then ask, "Do you live around here?" and from there develop a conversation. Second: Jesus swung the conversation to the spiritual realm (v. 10). He simply mentioned the things of God. This will take courage. We may say something like, "Did you go to church on Sunday?" or "Did you see that Christian TV program last week?" If the person responds positively, the question "Do you have a Christian background?" will probe his background. He may answer, "I went to church when I was a child, but I drifted away from it." Another simple way to swing to the spiritual is to offer the person a gospel tract and ask, "Did you get one of these?" When he takes it, simply say, "It’s a gospel tract. Do you come from a Christian background?" Third: Jesus brought conviction using the Law of God (vv. 16"18). Jesus gently spoke to her conscience by alluding to the fact that she had transgressed the Seventh of the Ten Commandments. He used the Law to bring "the knowledge of sin" (see Romans 3:19,20). We can do the same by asking, "Do you think that you have kept the Ten Commandments?" Most people think they have, so quickly follow with, "Have you ever told a lie?" This is confrontational, but if it’s asked in a spirit of love and gentleness, there won’t be any offense. Remember that the "work of the Law [is] written in their hearts" and that the conscience will bear "witness" (Romans 2:15). Jesus confronted the rich young ruler in Luke 18:18"21 with five of the Ten Commandments and there was no offense. Have confidence that the conscience will do its work and affirm the truth of each Commandment. Don’t be afraid to gently ask, "Have you ever stolen something, even if it’s small?" Learn how to open up the spirituality of the Law and show how God considers lust to be the same as adultery (Matthew 5:27,28) and hatred the same as murder (1 John 3:15). Make sure you get an admission of guilt. Ask the person, "If God judges you by the Ten Commandments on Judgment Day, do you think you will be innocent or guilty?" If he says he will be innocent, ask, "Why is that?" If he admits his guilt, ask, "Do you think you will go to heaven or hell?" From there the conversation may go one of three ways: 1. He may confidently say, "I don’t believe in hell." Gently respond, "That doesn’t matter. You still have to face God on Judgment Day whether you believe in it or not. If I step onto the freeway when a massive truck is heading for me and I say, ‘I don’t believe in trucks,’ my lack of belief isn’t going to change reality." Then tenderly tell him he has already admitted to you that he has lied, stolen, and committed adultery in his heart, and that God gave him a conscience so that he would know right from wrong. His conscience and the conviction of the Holy Spirit will do the rest. That’s why it is essential to draw out an admission of guilt before you mention Judgment Day or the existence of hell. 2. He may say that he’s guilty, but that he will go to heaven. This is usually because he thinks that God is "good," and that He will, therefore, overlook sin in his case. Point out that if a judge in a criminal case has a guilty murderer standing before him, the judge, if he is a good man, can’t just let him go. He must ensure that the guilty man is punished. If God is good, He must (by nature) punish murderers, rapists, thieves, liars, adulterers, fornicators, and those who have lived in rebellion to the inner light that God has given to every man. 3. He may admit that he is guilty and therefore going to hell. Ask him if that concerns him. Speak to him about how much he values his eyes and how much more therefore he should value the salvation of his soul. (For the biblical description of hell, see Revelation 1:18 footnote.)
