Just for Today.....
Posted On 02/09/2008 10:47:18
Hi Family, friends, brothers and sisters in Christ,
Here below is something posted by my friend...
I think we too can try and do this...
Not just today..
But always....
It always feels good to bring a smile or spread some cheer around.
Sometimes we take life seriously,
~~that we forget to smile,
~~don't laugh like a child,
~~Fail to see the heart of people around.
~~Fail to see the beauty of God's creation.
Today let's take time to do some simple things, we usually take for granted or fail to do.
Be Blessed,
Julie
JUST FOR TODAY

...smile at a stranger
...listen to someones heart
...drop a coin where a child can find it
...learn something new, then teach it to someone
...tell someone you're thinking of them
...hug a loved one
...don't hold a grudge
...don't be afraid to say "I'm sorry"
...look a child in the eye and tell them how great they are
...don't kill that spider in your house, he's just lost so show him the way out
...look beyond the face of a person into their heart
...make a promise, and keep it
...call someone, for no other reason than to just say "hi"

...show kindness to an animal
...stand up for what you believe in
...smell the rain, feel the breeze, listen to the wind
...use all your senses to their fullest
...cherish all of your TODAYS!!
Today you were thought about by me....

Be a friend to the lonely and share Christ's Love.

~A Devotional~

“A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.” - Proverbs 17:17 NASB

A recent study from the American Sociological Review reported that there has been a significant decrease in the number of people in which others can confide. In fact, Americans have a third fewer close friends and confidants than just two decades ago. And one in four Americans confessed that they had “no close confidants at all.” Why this decline? Certainly the needs are just as great!

One conclusion was that this trend might indicate “that people may be living lonelier, more isolated lives than in the past.” Harvard Professor Robert Putnam noted that people are spending more time at work and less time socializing than in the past. In addition, more people are turning to entertainment tools such as television, videos, and the Internet and are not interfacing as often directly with others.

Faced with these trends, Christians have an awesome opportunity to show the love of Christ. People need to know that, even when they are all alone, God is right there with them. He will never leave or forsake them. He wants to be their closest Friend. But the Bible also reminds us of the importance of being part of a church Body, and not to forsake “assembling together” (Hebrews 10:25).

Today, remember that God wants a personal, intimate relationship with You. He wants to be your Friend. If you ever feel lonely, talk with Him and spend quality time with Him. But also don’t forget to be sensitive to other people in your community, church, or workplace. He wants you to reach out. Be ready to listen, show concern, and demonstrate that you care. Be God’s ambassador in the life of other Believers. As He is your Friend, be theirs.

Today's Prayer
Father, I need You in my life. I want to hear Your voice. I want a more intimate relationship with You. Use me to change others. Give me a burden for the Lost. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Niagara Falls, Revival and Suddenlies

"GETTIN' READY for the Movement of God--NOW is the TIME to DECIDE WHAT YOU BELIEVE"
Niagara Falls, Revival and Suddenlies

We all love the thought of a powerful move of God. As God moves, we think "souls saved, healing, miracles, and demonstrations of God's presence." In the Hebrides Revival of 1948-1952, the presence of God literally chased people and whole towns were saved. (You can read about this in my book, Bright Shining Revival.)

God showed me several years ago that His coming move is going to be like the downpour of Niagara Falls. I was standing in that water and it was swirling around my feet, drawing me towards the Falls. The thunderous noise got closer and closer as I was being drawn under it. It was frightening in the natural. God asked me, "How would you like to get under that?"

It was overwhelming to see that God's power is not something we can control or fit into our comfort zones. Although God will override stiff-necked people if there are others who are sold out to Him, let us remember from past revivals, God will leave a place if people continually resist Him. Every revival has ended in control and the Spirit of God has withdrawn when He is continually resisted. We have to learn to discern the will of God and know what He has for us. The enemy would like to take you in the opposite direction of the will of God. There is no such thing as a revival that doesn't interrupt your life and lifestyle.

This year there will be a lot of suddenlies! Be ready. Be at the door. Sometimes doors open and close quickly. When God gives you a suddenly door, you won't want to be procrastinating; it may close before you can make up your mind.

Hidden Things, an Unusual Encounter and Moving of the Spirit

Although miracles and such take place, many things are shaken when God really does show up. For one, all kinds of things dormant or hidden come to the surface. I have been around churches where everything seemed to be fine and generally speaking, people were happy, not facing much of a challenge or anything. But when God begins to show up, many things are suddenly made obvious because the light shines on those things which are not seen by the natural eye. Like I said, things begin to shake. People who seem happy sitting there Sunday by Sunday, suddenly take offense when they see things maybe they haven't seen before. Maybe someone starts to confess sins, and that can make people uncomfortable. Or maybe some people start to weep, cry and laugh, and that also can make some people uncomfortable.

Years ago, David and I were ministering to a group where God greatly manifested. We were birthed into the spirit realm in revival, and we were used to seeing the manifestations of His presence. We were on an island off the south coast of England, staying at a Christian guesthouse and held meetings in a hall, attached to the house. God was moving and we were having a good time. After a Sunday night meeting, most of us moved on into the guesthouse for some snacks, while some of the teenagers stayed behind in the hall. They were standing in a circle and worshiping the Lord. There was a young teenage lad among them who had just been saved that morning.

As we were drinking our tea and chatting in the guesthouse, there came the sound of running feet from the hall. Voices were yelling, "David, Kathie come quick." As we went in, we saw the teens still standing in a circle. The young man who had been saved that day was actually on the floor, kneeling, and his right arm was outstretched with his finger pointing. His arm was moving around the room. As his finger pointed to one of the other kids in the circle, they would fall to the floor and start to confess things as the Spirit of God moved on them. The other kids were trying to run away, but their feet were glued to the floor, and they were unable to get out of the way. We just watched until the last one hit the floor. The young teenage lad who God was using in this way did not know afterwards what really happened.

Afterward, we went back into the guesthouse and told some of the people what had happened. People there were still drinking their tea and coffee, and snacking on cookies. Suddenly we heard a noise. To me it sounded like a train which came closer and closer. The presence of God which had taken over in the hall was now moving toward the guesthouse. I saw people trying to put down their mugs and plates before His presence got to them. (I don't know how to explain this really, except to say that you knew God's presence was going to come upon you.) As the presence of God (the train) came upon people, they would hit the floor and start to weep, confessing things to each other. After a while that seemed to lift and people were tearstained but glowing, and the glory of God was on them.

The Holy Spirit had moved on to the upper floor where the children had been asleep. He moved on them and woke them up, dealing with their hearts as well. Then suddenly the children came running down the stairs weeping. By the way, God doesn't leave out the children; they don't have a junior Holy Spirit. I have seen a room full of kids in a trance being lifted up into Heaven, as well as roomfuls of adults lifted up too. There is so much joy in the presence of God. He wants to sweep you away in the Spirit.

In the Hebrides Revival, the intercessors would leave their body for a week at a time--that's what I call abandonment!
(There is a firsthand account of this in my book Bright and Shining Revival as mentioned above.)
I have seen things like this many times and sometimes, the people get offended. That's usually because of religious and old mindsets. Some don't like the uncomfortable feeling of God taking over and the control of man being put under. When God takes over, anything can happen.

Have a Spirit of Abandonment--Decide Now What You Believe

In the 5th-6th century in Ireland, there were monks who were called the Peregrini. These monks would get into a little boat in the shores of Ireland. The boat had no rudder and no oars, just a sail. They trusted God to send the winds to take them where they were supposed to go. They had amazing adventures and appointments with God. (This story is in my book, Celtic Flames.) I would call this a spirit of abandonment to the purposes of God, wouldn't you?
That is what is required if you really want God to come in His power. I don't mean you have to get in a boat, but you must have that same spirit of abandonment to the purposes of God. You can't keep telling Him what to do or how to do it. Let God be God.

God is looking for His sons and daughters to rise up and be who He has called them to be--the sons and daughters of the Most High God. He doesn't want you to just work for Him, and He isn't running around the world trying to recruit workers for the Kingdom. Learn to really get in and stay in the anointing. Most of all, have the spirit of abandonment to Him and His awesome purposes just like the Peregrini did. Everything you need is in the anointing of God on your life. He has put His desires deep in your heart so that when you yield to Him, it's delightful because it's in your heart. As the psalmist says in Psalm 40:8, "I delight to do Thy will, oh my God."

A friend of mine, Pastor Alan Ryden who is from Alaska, was recently in the seas for 10 hours in 30 foot waves when his boat capsized. Let me tell you, the devil's intention was to take him out. It's a good thing he had already decided what he believed before he got into that situation. He did not have the time to start questioning and figuring out the situation, he was simply abandoned to God.

Don't wait until God is moving strong before you decide what you want. Don't wait to decide what to believe when you have a crisis. Decide now what you believe. Don't wait until you are sick before you really decide what you believe about healing. Don't wait to decide whether or not you want the river of God to flow in your life when His move comes. You will waste precious time standing on the bank, trying to understand what's happening instead of getting into the river. Sometimes the river isn't flowing in a calm way; sometimes it can be tumultuous and scary. But if it's from God, it's OK isn't it?

We must have a spirit of abandonment to God. People in my meetings have been abandoned to God, saying, "Whatever" to Him. This is a good thing to say, keep saying it. Have a "whatever" heart. You will come out the right way up. I'm telling you, now is the time to get ready. Now is the time to decide what you believe.

Mothers are Special..
Posted On 11/05/2007 09:08:54
Hi...family...A tribute to all mothers & a reminder to appreciate our mothers and all mothers we know. Our mother's tender love covered us as a child. Though we grow up they still see us as little kids. They love us all the same...Remember moments like this??Doing thing together??Reading out a story to you??Tucking you in bed??
And..They never quit praying for us!!Praise God for mom & dads too!!YSIC,JulieThe Love of a Mother
Mother's love is something
that no one can explain,
It is made of deep devotion
and of sacrifice and pain

It is endless and unselfish
and enduring come what may
For nothing can destroy it
or take that love away

It is patient and forgiving
when all others are forsaking,
And it never fails or falters
even though the heart is breaking

It believes beyond believing
when the world around condemns,
And it glows with all the beauty
of the rarest, brightest gems

It is far beyond defining,
it defies all explanation,
And it still remains a secret
like the mysteries of creation

A many splendor miracle
man cannot understand
And another wondrous evidence
of God's tender guiding hand.

~~QUIT SMOKING~~
Posted On 10/27/2007 13:12:38
Hi..
Recently a relative passed away due to lung cancer. He was a chain smoker. But a month or two back when being treated for cancer gave his heart to JESUS.
I'm sure he could have enjoyed a longer & healthier life if he was not a smoker.
SMOKING IS INJURIOUS TO HEALTH.
No one can deny this!!
cig-1.gif picture by julie4jesus
That's why even manufacturers too are forced to put that message on the cigarette boxes.
I am burdened me to pray for friends and loved ones who still smoked and think it's ok. Pray the Lord will enlighten them to the truth that smoking is "INJURIOUS TO HEALTH" and that their body is the "Temple of the HOLY SPIRIT"
It may be hard to quit smoking..but surely not impossible.
I just happened to read this article on-line and sharing it with you all. Pray someone out there is blessed.
Before reading the article below..just know that God wants to help people who are struggling to quit this habit.
Just "Pray" & reach out to JESUS.
1 Corinthians 10: 13

"No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it."

Remember...
 1) Wrong desires and temptations happen to everybody..so don't feel singled out.
 2) Others have resisted and overcome temptations,
3) Any temptation can be resisted (even the temptation to take a puff) can be resisted
because God will help you
4) Make the right choices!!
     5) Run away from tempting situation and places.
So can you!!!

It's high time we raised an alarm against smoking.
Smoking is Injurious to health & that's why the manufactures are asked print that message on every cigarette packet.
Today renew your pledge to quit smoking...If you have tried to quit smoking and failed before, take comfort in the fact that most smokers fail several times before quitting successfully.

Your past failures are not a lesson that you are unable to quit. Instead, view them as part of the normal journey toward becoming a nonsmoker.
Quit the habit.
Remember - you can do it!

1.
Deep Breathing Perhaps The Single Most Powerful And Important Technique:
Every time you want a cigarette, do the following. Do it three times.

Inhale the deepest lung-full of air you can, and then, very slowly, exhale. Purse your lips so that the air must come out slowly. As you exhale, close your eyes, and let your chin gradually sink over onto your chest. Visualize all the tension leaving your body, slowly draining out of your fingers and toes, just flowing on out.

This is a variation of a yoga technique and is very relaxing. If you practice this, you'll be able to use it for any future stressful situation you find yourself in. And it will be your greatest weapon during the strong cravings sure to assault you over the first few days.

2. Taking In Fluids:
The first few days, drink LOTS of water and fluids to help flush out the nicotine and other poisons from your body.

Remember that the urge to smoke only lasts a few minutes, and will then pass. The urges gradually become farther and farther apart as the days go by.

3. Stay Away From Alcohol, Sugar And Coffee
Do your very best to stay away from alcohol, sugar and coffee the first week or longer, as these tend to stimulate the desire for a cigarette. Avoid fatty foods, as your metabolism will slow down a bit without the nicotine, and you may gain weight even if you eat the same amount as before quitting. So discipline about diet is extra important now. No one ever said acquiring new habits would be easy!

Nibble on low calorie foods like celery, apples and carrots. Chew gum or suck on cinnamon sticks.

Stretch out your meals; eat slowly and wait a bit between bites.

After dinner, instead of a cigarette, treat yourself to a cup of mint tea or a peppermint candy.

4.Taking An Oral Substitute
In one study, about 25% of quitters found that an oral substitute was invaluable. Another 25% didn't like the idea at all - they wanted a clean break with cigarettes. The rest weren't certain.

One can use cinnamon sticks, chewing gum as a substitute. You will mostly find that after the first week of being a non smoker, you wouldn't even need these.

5. Get Exercising
Go to a gym, sit in the steam, exercise. Change your normal routine – take time to walk or even jog around the block or in the local park.

6.Pamper Yourself
Get a one hour massage, take a long bath - pamper yourself. Get yourself involved in a hobby.

7. Ask For Support
Ask for support from co-workers, friends and family members. Ask for their tolerance.
Let them know you're quitting, and that you might be edgy or grumpy for a few days.
If you don't ask for support, you certainly won't get any. If you do, you'll be surprised how much it can help. Take a chance - try it and see!

Ask friends and family members not to smoke in your presence. Don't be afraid to ask. This is more important than you may realize.

Ask for prayers!!

8. Destroy All Your Cigarettes
On your quit day, hide all ashtrays and destroy all your cigarettes, preferably with water, so no part of them is smokeable.

9. Write It Down
Write down ten good things about being a nonsmoker - and then write out ten bad things about smoking. Do it. It really helps.

10. Don’t Pretend
Don't pretend smoking wasn't enjoyable – it was. This is like losing a good friend – and it's okay to grieve the loss. And let Go!!!
Feel that grief, don't worry, it's okay. Feel, and you heal. Stay with it - you can do it!

11. Affirm Yourself
Several times a day, quietly repeat to yourself the affirmation, "I am a nonsmoker." Many quitters see themselves as smokers who are just not smoking for the moment. They have a self-image as smokers who still want a cigarette.

Silently repeating the affirmation "I am a nonsmoker" will help you change your view of yourself, and, even if it may seem silly to you, this is actually useful. Use it!

12. Holding Out
Here is perhaps the most valuable information among these points. In Phase 2, the period which begins a few weeks after quitting, the urges to smoke will subside considerably.

However, it's vital to understand that from time to time, you will still be suddenly overwhelmed with a desire for "just one cigarette."
This will happen unexpectedly, during moments of stress, whether negative stress or positive (at a party, or on vacation).
If you are unprepared to resist, succumbing to that "one cigarette" will lead you directly back to smoking.

Remember the following secret:
In these surprise attacks during Phase 2 - and they will definitely come - do your deep breathing, and hold on for five minutes, and the urge will pass.

In conclusion
1) Remember that if you quit you will live longer and feel better. Quitting will lower your chances of having a heart attack, stroke, or cancer.
2)The people you live with, especially children, will be healthier.
3)If you are pregnant, you will improve your chances of having a healthy baby. And you will have extra money to spend on things other than cigarettes.

So get the information and support you need to make the stopping process a little easier. Seek the help of family and friends, and most important decide you want to do it and visualize yourself as a non-smoker.

We are the fragrance of CHRIST...
Posted On 10/24/2007 12:26:13
2 Corinthians 2:15For we are to God the aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing.
Hi.....
The Bible says we are the aroma (fragrance) of Christ.
I once read that there is a certain valley in Romania, where they grow only rose plants & the roses are sold in the local market & also exported to other nations. Here roses are seen all around.
It seems during the time of Rose crop, the purfume of this valley is soo strong that even if you are in that place for few minutes, where ever you go, the rest of the day people will know where you had been because the fragrance goes with you.
Spending time in the Lord's presence is like that. When we go to His presence early in the morning & then go about your daily chores, you will carry the fragrance of Christ all day long.
Not only that we are to walk in God's love & imitate Jesus Christ our Lord.
Ephesians 5: 2and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
Our love for others should go beyond affection to self sacrificing service.
~~Good Night~~from India.

~The Right Words~
Posted On 10/06/2007 09:30:21
Hi.....
I came across this poem and realised how important it is to speak the right, encouraging words especially when someone's really hurting.
How often we pass by people who hurt and we don't just seem to care.
I pray the Lord will use each of us to pray for and encourage people we meet who are hurting.
I pray He'll give us the right words to say.
I pray God will help us stop by and stretch out a hand to lift someones who is feeling tired and weak spiritually.
It's when one's down the valley & hurting, one wishes to see their fellow brothers, sisters & friends & loved ones around.
But it's in times like these God makes His Presence felt in a powerful way too!!!!
So...let's ask God to put the right words in our mouths to lift up a hurting heart.
YSIC
Julie

People will forget what you said. People will forget what you did .

But people will NEVER forget how you made them feel
.
            &nb sp;                       THE RIGHT WORDS
            &nb sp;
Lord, give me the right words to say
To broken hearts that come my way
To those who have been hurt before
That, I not hurt them any more
To those whose hearts have hardened up
To those who won't hold out their cup
That, Lord, You long to overflow
With love and mercy. Lord, let me know

That I might have the words to say
That I might plant a seed today
That glory would be given to You
Through all I say and all I do

Lord, give me the right words to say
More hearts are breaking every day
They're out there crying in the night
I long to help them see the light
But, fragile are those souls and weak
So this is why Your words I seek
And pray Thee give me words to say
That I, not one soul, turn away.

Lord...what do you want me to do today??
Posted On 10/04/2007 06:18:25
Father God...
So many years of my life's gone by....
I don't know how long you will to keep me here on earth...
What do you want me to do today Lord???
Where do you want me to go??
This life I lay at your feet...
Help me to be the "Light" & "Salt" & let me make a difference,
In the lives of people I meet & interact with.
Bless the work of my hands Lord and use me for your Glory.
Thank you Lord..
In JESUS Name...
AMEN~~~
