Overcoming life So hello again, I recently spoke on Death and Life and the sorts. I am now here to speak on overcoming life. We all know life isn't easy, we all get discouraged and there are times that we all want to give up. And I just want to say even though I am young, I have through some pretty serious stuff, and I felt like giving up, but I want to say, that it takes strength to stand up and fight discouragement, it takes strength to battle anxiety, but I have overcome all of it, although it can be brought on by the enemy God has given us the tools to stand up and fight for ourselves, and our family, and everyone we love. But to fight for our friends and family and self we need to 1. not be afraid in the opposition 2. know, love, and trust God, 3. Fight! Now I know this sounds like I am talking about warfare, in this world there will be warfare of more than one kind. But we are to not be afraid of stepping into battle with the armor of God....(I am going to use the Message, so it will sound wierd) Ephesians 6:10-18 "And that about wraps it up. God is strong, and he wants you strong. So take everything the Master has set out for you, well-made weapons of the best materials. And put them to use so you will be able to stand up to everything the devil throws your way. This is no afternoon athletic contest that we'll walk away from and forget about in a couple of hours. This is for keeps, a life or death fight to the finish against the devil and all his angels. Be prepared You're up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it's all over but the shouting you'll still be on your feet. Truth, Righteousness, peace, faith, and Salvation are more than just words. Learn to apply them. You'll need them throughout your entire life. God's word is an indespensible weapon. In the same way, prayer is essential for ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other's spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out." As you can see even though there is alot of warfare in this passage there is also a call to overcome life whatever it throws at us.... I can from a background where I had to over come my situation and myself and my other adveraries.... and speaking of adversaries here is a list of adversaries you should always watch, because it isn't always or even most the time Satan.....1.Society (or the world) 2. People of no relationship with Christ 3.Ourselves* 4. Satan 5. objects (if you know what I am saying.) Anyway look at this list...Alot of people would not guess that ourselves is an enemy, well.....look....WE CHOOSE to follow Christ....WE CHOOSE to fall away into our own nature... WE CHOOSE to follow other beliefs or religions, or have lusts of something that isn't the truth which is God, he is the truth. John 14:6 I am the Road, also the truth, also the life." He is TRUTH, and WE CHOOSE to follow and accept him as King or WE DONT. People have a way of looking for something like eternal life and then expect life to be easy, but as soon as they find that life isn't any easier they give up, because the word wasn't planted deep enough into the hearts of those people, but an encouragement to help in any situation.....John 16:33 "i've told you all this so that trusting me, you will be unshakable and assured, deeply at peace. In this Godless world you will continue to experience difficulties. But take heart I have conquered the world." Going back to the first scripture it said "and HE wants us to be STRONG, as he is strong." 1 john 4:4 " My dear children, you come from God and belong to God. You have already won a big victory over those false teachers, for the spirit in you is far stronger than anything in the world." Yep there you go, We are called to conquer, we are called to destiny, to war, we are called to love, we are called to be strong, and to not be afraid. Dueteronomy 31:6 "Be strong. Take courage. Don't be intimidated. Don't give them a second thought because God, your God is striding ahead of you. He's right there with you. He won't let you down; he won't leave you." Isn't that great, isn't that encouragement, it is to me.....and I know that sometimes people face some obstacles with each other, we get hurt by each other, especailly when were close to each other, and sometimes we feel like kind of quiting, but thats when we need to stand up and say, "No way, I will not let this control me at all." Another scripture, John 15:18 "If you find the godless world hates you, remember that it hated me first." OK........We have no reason to quit, and when life gets tough, I will tell you don't expect God to say..."Ahhh, come here, everything will be okay." NO! NO! NO! God would say this: "Quit being a baby and fight, dont show anyone any fear, but instead bring fear to them, show them that as with me with you, you can tear anything from limb to limb, FIGHT, but be a baby..." He loves us, but he wants us to overcome, and sometimes ok all the time when things get in our way of destiny we will all have to fight. Never quit, God will never quit on you, so do God a favor and dont quit on him. This is my blog shed for you....do this and be encouraged and live a fulfilling life, cause that is what God desires for you. Peace out
The Power of Faith Category: Religion and Philosophy I am going to start right off the bat with a scripture that is going to be a kind of base for this message and that is Luke 8: 23-25 "As they sailed, he (jesus) fell asleep. A squall came down on the lake, so that the boat was being swamped, and they were in great danger. So the disciples went and woke him saying, 'Master, Master, We are going to drown.' He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waters; the storm subsided, and all was calm. 'Where is your faith?' He asked his disciples. In fear and amazement, they asked one another, 'who is this? He commands even the winds and the water and they obey.' " If you go back to v. 24 they run to jesus and wake him and said 'Hey dude, were going to drown!' I think that implied several things. 1. They were actually afraid to drown. by the fact that they woke him suggests that they maybe wanted to see jesus do something, like calm the wind and sea. By number 1 they had no faith...THEY WERE IN THE BOAT WITH GOD IN THE FLESH! So jesus rebukes the wind and sea. They had no faith in him at all, but they certainly got a treat didn't they? In my mind if I saw jesus do that, I would be following HARDCORE after him, because you see that and you know he's all that he says he is. The cool things is that with the authority of Christ given to us, we can do the same things. But thats another subject. The point of the message is to rely on God and have faith in him. Look at Abraham. Wow, honeslty would you sacrifice your OWN son. that would be scary and I imagine he would've been, BUT, his faith in God conquered his fear. You know the scripture perfect love cast out all fear. BINGO! He had the faith to sacrifice his own son, his only son. And God blessed his obedience and his faith BIG TIME! God came through, and instead of Isaac being sacrificed, god provided a ram. Wow, I know that God still does that kinda thing to this day, he will test your faith like no ones business, but he always provides. AMEN! Faith is totally a gift from the lord. I believe that the more we obey God, the more his faith and power moves in us, I mean that is a pretty simple concept but it isn't at the same time, because the more faith we have, or even a small amount will lead us to obedience, so it goes both ways vice versa. Awesome huh? John 3:30 "He must increase, and I must decrease." That is faith. When we obey he increase's in us, thus decreasing us. See where this is going? The more we obey, the more we live the faith operate with faith, the more we really grow in our relationship with the father, the more we experience him. Big thing, huge for me. I think that the brighter our faith the brighter our outcome is for doing things, for example...I believe with a good faith healings happen, I believe with a good faith that miracles of all other sorts happen, it is faith...In God and it is God doing these things. God is so awesome to choose to operate through us, it's a good thing. God has called us to experience him personally and through our relationships with other people, but without faith in god, we are nothing but shot down clay discs! AMEN! I really feel that we ALWAYS need to keep our eyes on Jesus, always. Jeremiah 29: 13 " you will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." Yes this is pertanent to what I am going to say. Peter is a huge example of keeping our eyes on the prize which is Jesus! AMEN! The incident with the boat...Matthew 14:27-31 says "But Jesus said to them: 'Take courage! It is I, dont be afraid.' 'Lord if it's you,' peter replied, 'tell me to come to you on the water.' 'Come.' He said. Than Peter got out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, 'Lord save me!' Immediatly Jesus reached out his hand and caught him, 'You of little faith,' he said, 'Why did you doubt.' " That is my favorite example of faith right there, He had his eye on jesus, but then the wind came and became scared and started to sink. I think we get to be the same way sometimes, we have our eyes on jesus and then as we come towards him some kind of wind, we could say like adversity comes in and scares us and we drown. Then Jesus takes our hand and lifts us up out of the water and says, "Why do you doubt?" God is calling us to keep our attention and focus in the right place, The Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Without him we drown, we lose. But looking at him having our focus on all of him is what gives us victory, so our job is to seek the Lord everyday earnestly and to take up our cross and follow him, he has great plans for everyone and he wont let go of anyone either, he loves everyone to much to quit what he had started. I loved writing this message and my hope and prayer is that you get something from this, I ask that if you do that you would leave a comment or a prayer or something because faith in Jesus is going to be very important in winning in this world. Thank you ALL and I MEAN ALL for reading this, and I am praying that this touches anyone who reads it that they may recieve perspsctive from a servant and a friend of God! Thank you all and god bless John the Lionheart!!!
True Strength is Spiritual Category: Religion and Philosophy Hello, there it is time again to post a message which I think will clear up any issues on what real strength is and where it comes from. The one point to prove is that everything was created by God, so the Idea of strength was from him and it is symbolic of 1 part of Gods heart, as the feminine nature also comes from god....together they make up the heart of God, the man holds the strength and the woman holds beauty...26 Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, [a] and over all the creatures that move along the ground." 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. Now the question of how strength shown and what does it look like...there is many biblical examples of when men became strong...when "The Spirit" came upon them here is one good example..Judges 14:19 Then the Spirit of the LORD came upon him in power. He went down to Ashkelon, struck down thirty of their men, stripped them of their belongings and gave their clothes to those who had explained the riddle. Burning with anger, he went up to his father's house. Now obviously not everytime the spirit comes upon aman, does he go and do something like this, but there is something about the Masculine heart of God that says..."I am going to fight for you." And he does what he has to to bring his promise to pass, just as this, We men should learn to follow this example...Anymore wedont have any real men simply for the fact that church anymore is teaching that men, should controlled, gentleman, Nice guys...in essence Pansies....What do woman want...they want to be fought for, not razzle dazzled by some guys words, woman needs to know that they are going to be fought for...this is the same part of the feminine heart of God, "Will you pursue me, I am beautiful, am I worth fighting for?" but obviously it's not about that right now, its about strength...Fight, thats an interesting word let me define this..To contend for, by or as if by combat......I have here 2 definitions of Violence..Abuse or injury to meaning, content, or intent: do violence to a text. 6. Vehemence of feeling or expression: ferver There is violence in prayer, this is called travail, it is a violent spiritual actionin which someone pretty much gives birth to spirit...anyway back to the message, I think there is violence and fighting in the spirit world and here church is telling us to be good boys, what about woman who fall under spiritual attack, are we as men not suppose to get violent or to stand and fight for them...YES WE ARE To say we aren't is denying amans very nature of which God created men for, Fighting, Danger, Adventure...God is kind of fairy tale, which is God, and he loves watching Real men come to life and spring into battle to save people...think of Jesus...he was a pansyright, thats what alot of people thought of him as....HE COULD'VE BACKED DOWN FROM GETTING THE PUNISHMENT ON WHICH HE TOOK, HE COULD HAVE BACKED DOWN FROM BEING HUNG ON A CROSS...BUT WHY DIDN'T HE...BECAUSE HE WAS MAN ENOUGH TO FINISH WHAT HE WAS BORN TO DO, DIE FOR OUR LIVES OUR SOULS, Real men, look a battle in the face and dont back down, real men look at adventure head on and wlk lowardsit, a real man accepts the fact that danger could be right around the corner, A man stands his ground, Not letting go of what he knowsis true, that is strength...It took strength for Jesus to turn the tables in the temple courts...I imagine he was pissed off from that, "Dont defile my fathers house." When he needed to say something important, He didn't care who wasaround him, he said what he needed to, regardless of how people felt, because he spoke the truth, he knew nobody could contradict it, God supported, and we as men need to follow that, God will support us when we speak what we feel and know to be truth Luke 21:15For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict...True that! I want to finish up this message with a couple of more biblical examples of men who used their physical and spiritual strength when the spirit came upon them....Judges 14: 6 The Spirit of the LORD came upon him in power so that he tore the lion apart with his bare hands as he might have torn a young goat. But he told neither his father nor his mother what he had done. ...This is another example of what a man can do when the spirit falls upon you....and actually instead of going to finish off with another scripture, I want to finish with something that God laid on my heart..."Men should draw their strength from God and from the biblical examples set by other men, like you would draw water out of a well." The way I see it is that, since strength comes from knowing the very masculine heart of God, we should spend time learning from what the bible defines as strength, and in John 6: 63 The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you are spirit [a] and they are life. This is what I mean, If gods wordsgive life, cant they also provide strength for men, and beauty for women, I think so, I believe so, Jesus says to follow his example, So learn from the Masculine side of God those men whoread this and take it as encouragement, for it is what it is meant to be...Dont just spend time in the word, pray and be outside in Gods element, his creation in which he created for us to subdue to take of....This is my blog, May peace from the father descend upon you through your days... in jesus name, I say enjoy
The power of the tongue This is a topic on which this will be focused on the men in the group, the men of christians in the world who need to speak better, doesn't mean that woman are prohibited from reading this, no...you are free to read this as well, and take from it what you will. Something God has really been hitting me with is the power on which our tongue has, it has the power to do good and evil....speak words of life and death, if we are to follow, we must discipline our tongue to speak nothing but words of life each other, even when it is just men around, we need to be speaking life, encouraging words, it is difficult to the untrained tongue but it is not impossible, because we have God here to help us in it he was saying to his disciples in John 6:63 "The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you are spirit[a] and they are life" This is out of context, but it's true everything God spoke to them was encouraging, everything he taught was uplifting and we are to follow this same example, think of what the Word Christian means..."Little Christ." So obviously we are living a life of following his example...anyway...Here are some things that I think God was speaking to me that the tongue can do when we aren't in control of it: It can defile you, your spirit, and can hinder Gods use in you Matthew 15:18 "But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these make a man 'unclean." God obviously doesn't look upon anything unclean, so obviously we need to discipline our tongue... Dont you think it gives other people the idea that we can do it as well, when in fact, we shouldn't Psalm 64:3 "They sharpen their tongues like swords and aim their words like deadly arrows." James 3:8" but no man can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison" 1 John 3:18 "Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth." Obviously we are imperfect, we can never have everything all together, I know this, everyone knows this, but the tongue is the hardest to control and if we can control that, we can control anything, but one final thing, It shows how truly disciplined we are as Christians Proverbs 1:3 for acquiring a disciplined and prudent life, doing what is right and just and fair;" 1 Cor 11:32 "When we are judged by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be condemned with the world." 2 timothy 1:7 "For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline." Just think about what the tongue is, and what it can do, this is what brought this blog on, God came to me and said, your tongue needs to be controlled, as well as the rest of the mens, It kind of put some thing of desiring to say better things to everyone, and remember we have the power and the authority of Christ to call upon we get overwhelmed, and I just want to say that this totally brought something of humility to me, something of wanting to be a better man, and I think to be a better man, for every one, not just speaking of myself, but to be a better man, is to love all, speak Love, and stand for the truth, if that means we have to get up and leave because we hear something we dont need to hear, than Bravo, because I think even hearing something like that can cause something of hinderance, but we live in an imperfect world so obviously we cant just expect to be able to run away from it, sometimes we must speak correction, sometimes we have to get in each others faces, because it's not clean and for our christian brothers which is who I am specifically speaking to, we have to make a better place for our woman who really are probably uncomfortable with it...I know this is something I need to work on some I'm not coming down on anyone, so yeah, thanks for reading this, I hope you get something out of this as I sure did
The Heart: Essentially the most important issue in existence Category: Religion and Philosophy You have seen it alot over the years, everywhere you go, everyone you see....and definetly in almost every movie and book you see or read, there is always something to do with life and the Heart. It is all over the bible, I believe it is the most talked about subject in the bible, and FOLKS that is why Jesus came. Alot of people would say, "But I thought Jesus came to bring salvation?" Well he is the salvation, he is also the sword....He is many things. "I am the way, the truth, and the LIFE. No one comes to the father except through me." Anyway, something to look at is why it is the most contovertial subject in the Bible....Proverbs 4:23 "Above all else guard your heart for it is the wellspring of LIFE." It is life that comes from our hearts, let me just make a connection here, Jesus said he is the way, the truth, and the LIFE didn't he? So if we accept him, we have life, we are now in life, and we are to live life because of that sacrifice Jesus made on the cross. "For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit." 1 peter 3:18. This is going to sound wild at heartish.....But what does a man desire...DANGER, that is a natural thing for a man, he wants to that kind of stuff because that os how a man lives, and really lives from his heart. "The Glory of God is a heart fully alive." St Irenues. What do we do with that kind of a thing? What? We could use it for Godly things, and how would we do that, find our strength that God has personally gave us and let it shine forth, as !@#$ as it might sound, that is really the only way you can truly make it in this world that is hurting. And speaking of hurting, when we hurt, emotionally I am speaking, where does it come from, usually the heart...so what do we do about it...Christ who is the Life comes in and shines some light on your heart, it is painful, but if we dont let him, how else are we going to know our strength, how are going to let it shine...ultimately we cant....Jesus said..."I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." John 10:10, and dont get me wrong Jesus came for everyone, but he also says..."I have come for those who are sick, not those who aren't." What do we see in this example, Jesus as the great Physician...one who knows what we need and gives it to us....In my case, he is more than great, he is the only physician I can trust! He originally designed us to figure him, to be human beacons of light as God is, and I think this is interesting....but we fell in the garden of eden....what did this do, it left us shame, it brought sin into the picture, and we are seeing everything now in a different way, our world, our HEARTS were taken from us in that place...that really blows.....But God who knows how to be the hero is like, "Okay, I am going to come in and save your hearts in a HUGE way." He spoke of a Savior for hundreds, even pretty close to 2,000 years, that shows that he has spent time to 1. work things out...and 2. that he has showed his heart for us, and he showed how godly he really is by that as well, and it blows my socks off, but it gets better....Jesus, who is the bringer of life lives his life and everything, fast-forward to the other Garden, this time it is Gethsemane, and Jesus knows that it starts there in that Garden, the very act of salvation, the very act of winning our hearts back is in the Garden...it is where it starts, and it ends when he resurrects...Which I believe is also from a garden tomb if I am correct...God showed us his HEART for us, and by that we have life through him...It will always be a tough process, but in the end, it wont just be worth it...it will be the greatest day ever.... This is my blog shed for you.... John
