A picture in my mind.

Closing your eyes, bowing your head in reverence, and using your imagination, picture this...... A fabulous beautiful throne, gigantic, so big one leg of it could be in Oklahoma, one leg in Texas, one leg in Louisiana, and one leg in Arkansas. Flames encircle the legs and it rests on a glasslike ocean that reflects the beauty in all directions. Sitting on the throne in a dazzlingly brilliant bright white robe, with long wool-like hair and beard flowing from his head, eyes piercing yet beautiful filled with all the knowledge of the ages, and a crown of shining stars as jewels. Over his head angels circle about singing the most beautiful songs you've ever heard, they are leaving trails of rainbows in their path. The harp music flows up to meet them, it comes from the 12 elders. They flank the throne, 6 on each side sitting on their own much smaller thrones in golden robes with golden crowns on their heads and golden harps on their laps. Surrounding this are scores of angels, literally millions of them, all singing with the circling angels and harp playing elders. At the right hand of the throne stands Jesus, arms raised and palms open. You can see the scars on his hands. You enter, speechless you listen to the awesome spectacle before you, the music stops, half the angels step to the left, half the angels step to the right leaving an aisle for you to walk down. Jesus motions you forward, as you approach the throne, the angels close the gap behind you. You are completely surrounded by angels, you are completely safe from the attacks of satan, he has no power here. You stand before the throne of God..... "while you are here, do you have any requests?" Jesus asks. You say a name, someone on your heart, only a name, God knows them, he knows their needs, nothing else need be said. The elders lay down their harps and rise from their thrones, remove their crowns, and throw them at the feet of Jesus, they bow before God their faces to the ground. Jesus turns to the Father and says, "This one is mine Father, grant the request." Since the time the curtain was torn and we were admitted into the holy of holies, this is what it is like EVERY time you go to the Lord in prayer. Take your prayers seriously, they have REAL power.
