Psalm 5 (King James Version)
1Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my meditation.
2Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray.
3My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
4For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee.
5The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.
6Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing: the LORD will abhor the bloody and deceitful man.
7But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple.
8Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face.
9For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue.
10Destroy thou them, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against thee.
11But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.
12For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.
Psalm 5 (The Message)
A David Psalm
1-3 Listen, God! Please, pay attention! Can you make sense of these ramblings, my groans and cries? King-God, I need your help.
Every morning
you'll hear me at it again.
Every morning
I lay out the pieces of my life
on your altar
and watch for fire to descend.
4-6 You don't socialize with Wicked,
or invite Evil over as your houseguest.
Hot-Air-Boaster collapses in front of you;
you shake your head over Mischief-Maker.
God destroys Lie-Speaker;
Blood-Thirsty and Truth-Bender disgust you.
7-8 And here I am, your invited guest—
it's incredible!
I enter your house; here I am,
prostrate in your inner sanctum,
Waiting for directions
to get me safely through enemy lines.
9-10 Every word they speak is a land mine;
their lungs breathe out poison gas.
Their throats are gaping graves,
their tongues slick as mudslides.
Pile on the guilt, God!
Let their so-called wisdom wreck them.
Kick them out! They've had their chance.
11-12 But you'll welcome us with open arms
when we run for cover to you.
Let the party last all night!
Stand guard over our celebration.
You are famous, God, for welcoming God-seekers,
for decking us out in delight.
RESULTS ARE THAT:
- God has given me life and favor (I'm still here)
- You are able to overcome because of the favor of God.
- How to obtain the favor of God - Psalm 5:12
- Live right and trust in God then you can have favor.
- Because you are born in the spirit and washed in the blood, you do have favor.
- Your connection with God will give you favor and long life.
- God's favor is everything.
My Blog was going to be "Getting Closer With God" but then I was reading this "God Draws People to Himself" I decided to share this by Dr. Charles Stanley.
Some of my children were feeling overwhelmed yesterday because the devil was trying to steal their joy but only for a moment if they are lead by the Lord. The devil is a liar. I told them they need to get closer to God. They need to open up to Him.

God Draws People to Himself
Acts 9:1-9
The invitation to be reconciled to God is for all mankind. 1 Timothy 2:4 says, the Lord “desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” 2 Peter 3:9 tells us, God does not wish “for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.” And the promise of John 3:16 is “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”
The apostle Paul’s initial response to the Gospel message was direct, harsh, and violent. He persecuted followers of Jesus and tried to turn them against the Lord. He remained blind to the truth until his Damascus road experience. In the first chapter of Romans, Paul wrote about man’s refusal to follow God. He explained that the truths about God’s eternal power and divine nature are evident to all. They leave us without any excuse for not seeking Him. Our sin nature leads us to deny the truth of who Jesus is. Then, we refuse to glorify Him as He deserves. (vv. 18-21)
God does not prevent us from coming near. We refuse to do it. The Scripture states our problem clearly in Romans 3:11: “There is none who understands, there is none who seeks for God.” Our God, in His infinite mercy, not only provided His Son to bear the punishment for our sins. He also sent His Spirit to draw many into His family.
As believers, we will know the Holy Spirit is at work when we’re convicted of sin and repent for doing wrong. A desire to change ungodly behaviors and attitudes will turn us away from sin and lead us to embrace His ways. Do you see this happening in your life?
