I thought I'd tell you about a few of my favorite songs and why I like them.
1) Grave Robber by Petra (Greg X Volz Era): This song means a lot to me. When my Grandfather died in 1986 I played this song over and over. The lyrics helped me from being too sad, reminding me of the hope we have, because of Christ's crucifixion and Resurrection, of seeing our departed Loved Ones again.
2)Always There For You by Stryper: From the first time I heard this song it has always made me think of how Jesus is Always There for us and how we should be towards each other.
3) I'm Accepted by DeGarmo & Key: This talks about how no matter how we might not meet "The World's" standards for being acceptable and cool, etc. we're "accepted by the One who matters most."
4) Just Reach Out by Petra (John Schlitt Era): What this song is about is summed up by the lyrics that say--"You say you've walked ten thousand steps away, but, don't you know it's only one step back?" Reminding us that God doesn't go anywhere, but, we do and if we just turn around, reach out and take just one step back towards Him, He reaches out for us.
I thought I'd share that with you.
When I was trying to find songs for one of my playlists, I found a song by Petra that I hadn't heard in a long time. It wasn't really "lost", but, when they put out the two album CD of "Washes Whiter Than/Never Say Die" two songs from WWT were left off. One was "magic words" and the other was "(Couldn't Find Love) Without You." The latter one was/is my favorite song from WWT. I tried to upload the mp3 of that song, but, the file was too big--oh well. I also thought of an acronym for Petra--what do you think?

any way--that was just for fun.
This picture is special to me and my wife, Dawn. We're both BIG Petra fans-I consider myself to be a "Pethead". The picture was taken after the concert we attended Nov. 12, 2005 in Ft Wayne, IN (where Petra started). It was to be the last time for us to see Petra in concert-Unless they decide to come out of retirement, for they retired at the end of that year. Oh, Yeah... Boy did they ROCK THE HOUSE!!!!!!!
