The Call
Posted On 08/01/2008 20:44:42

The visitor spoke so softly we never heard his call

He was inside before we knew he was there at all.

No shadow cast he in the room, no echo of footfall

And when he passed we knew it not till he had left the hall.

He called her with compassion, his voice to ease her pain

A soothing, tender whisper, he only spoke her name.

And I believe he spoke but once, how I can’t explain

I only know she left with him and won’t pass this way again

I think she knew when he called her that time at last was o’er

No more sorrow, tears or sadness, no parting ever more.

And in his call the beckoning of those who went before

Who waited now for reunion upon the golden shore.

So time will pass just as it must, he will come as he came

Silent and not unwelcome to heal and not to main

See you I shall my sister dear, when death shall call my name.

Time

Time
Think you of events both here and now,
Of time and how time, that inordinate thief,
Robs body and soul with each day passing
And man marks it down to his grief.

For what is time but the end of days?
To mark the journey of man and mind
And naught comes of any hesitation
For time’s marks are so much less than kind.

Memories and shades of past regrets,
Spirits of sadness, shards of time now spent,
Kept close and pressed as a pale flower
Between the leaves, now dry and with no scent.

Looking back serves no viable intent
Nor soothes the spirit once in such torment.
Only striding on in step with the hour
Can one measure either pain or content.

Remembered love and happiest bliss
Still lie soothing and warm within the heart.
Love is the core of God’s declaration
Then we will know it fully, not in part.

When the coin of life is finally spent
And eternal dreams are reality
Love that is shared one to another
Is banked for all of eternity.

Think you of events now passed forever,
Of time and how time, that inordinate thief
Cannot best the Creator’s perfect plan;
And love gives life as man’s superb relief.

Seeking
Posted On 06/28/2008 17:49:49
These are the words of the preacher.
Behold this wisdom my children, I shall seek Him in the desolate places, in the emptiness between the words and in the hidden places of the world.
I seek Him not in the hurricane, nor in the earthquake that breaks the mountains or in the storm and rolling thunder nor in the fire and smoke.
He is not found within the songs of worship nor instruments of praise or in the cacophony of the congregation.
When He calls and draws you to Him, it is to a place of His choosing a place made holy by His very presence.
To draw you close to Him, He bids you to the solitude, to the time and destination that may seem strange and desolate.
Though you seek Him and would draw near, you must wait to find where He draws you, for He draws you first, not to the promise, but to the alter.
It is at the alter where one finds truth and offering and sacrifice and hope for the tortured soul that finds no solace from the trials of man.
From the alter comes the truth; from the truth sweet rest; in the rest dwells righteousness and therein salvations plan.
In the brokenness of the heart lies the pathway to the very promise of God.
It is not a journey for the proud for their pride will overshadow the voice of truth and they will not hear.

It is not a journey for the falsely righteous for their righteousness hides the vision of the word and they will not see.
Bless you my children as you seek for it is not in the journey that the truth abides, but in the destination.
It is not in the belief, for demons and demigods alike believe but in the discipleship.

Cast your lot among those who have trod the road along the edge of the precipice.
Listen heartily, speak frugally and well and never cease in doing the good works so designed for you.

Therein lies eternity.

Relationship
Posted On 07/29/2007 22:15:07

It is all about relationship.. Read what the bible says and so many times Jesus must have been frustrated by the quality of relationship He had even with His disciples. They did not understand what He was really saying yet He kept on trying to reach them. It was only after the crufixition and His return that they understood

Realtionship is what God wants from us. Begininng with Adam, God walked and talked with man. After the Jews told Moses that they did not want to hear His voice He has sought us in many other ways. We must open up our hearts and spirits to Him so that He may be found.  Like the good father that He is He has not given up on His children.  Jesus said He stands at the door and knocks. He will enter in and dine with them who receive Him.

I have never kept a journal much less a blog so I guess there is a first time for everything.  I have no idea where this is going nor exactly what this blog will be about.  So if you are a first time reader as I am a first time writer, please bear with me as I stumble about a bit.
