NAIL IN THE FENCE
Posted On 12/16/2006 18:34:08
Make sure you read all the way down to the last sentence.

(Most importantly the last sentence)

There once was a little boy who had a bad temper. His Father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper, he must hammer a nail into the back of the fence. The first day the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence.

Over the next few weeks, as he learned to control his anger, the number of nails hammered daily gradually dwindled down. He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence.

Finally the day came when the boy didn't lose his temper at all. He told his father about it and the father suggested that the boy now pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper.

The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone. The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence He said, "You have done well, my son, but look at the holes
in the fence. The fence will never be the same. When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one. You can put a knife in a man and draw it out.  It won't matter how many times you say I'm sorry, the wound is still there. “A verbal wound is as bad as a physical one.

Friends are very rare jewels, indeed. They make you smile and encourage you to succeed.

They lend an ear, they share words of praise and they always want to open their hearts to us."

It's National Friendship Week. Show your friends how much you care. Send this to everyone you consider a FRIEND, even if it means sending it back to the person who sent it to you. If it comes back to you, then you'll know you have a circle of friends.

YOU ARE MY FRIEND AND I AM HONORED!

Now send this to every friend you have.

Please forgive me if I have ever left a hole.

Now this is the living Bible
Posted On 11/27/2006 15:26:43
Now this is the Living Bible.

His name is Bill. He has wild hair, wears a T-shirt with holes in it,
jeans, and no shoes. This was literally his wardrobe for his entire four
years of college.

He is brilliant. Kind of profound and very, very bright. He became a
Christian while attending college.

Across the street from the campus is a well-dressed, very conservative
church. They want to develop a ministry to the students but are not sure
how to go about it.

One day Bill decides to go there. He walks in with no shoes, jeans, his
T-shirt, and wild hair. The service has already started and so Bill starts
down the aisle looking for a seat.

The church is completely packed and he can't find a seat. By now, people
are really looking a bit uncomfortable, but no one says anything.

Bill gets closer and closer and closer to the pulpit, and when he realizes
there are no seats, he just squats down right on the carpet.

By now the people are really uptight, and the tension in the air is thick.

About this time, the minister realizes that from way at the back of the
church, a deacon is slowly making his way toward Bill.

Now the deacon is in his eighties, has silver-gray hair, and a three-piece
suit. A godly man, very elegant, very dignified, very
Courtly. He walks with a cane and, as he starts walking toward this
Boy, everyone is saying to themselves that you can't blame him for what
he's going to do.

How can you expect a man of his age and of his background to understand
some college kid on the floor?

It takes a long time for the man to reach the boy.

The church is utterly silent except for the clicking of the man's cane.
All eyes are focused on him. You can't even hear anyone breathing. The
minister can't even preach the sermon until the deacon does what he has to
do.

And now they see this elderly man drop his cane on the floor. With great
difficulty, he lowers himself and sits down next to Bill and worships with
him so he won't be alone.

Everyone chokes up with emotion.
When the minister gains control, he says,

"What I'm about to preach, you will never remember. What you have just
            &nb sp;                  seen, you will
            &nb sp;                  Never forget."

&nb sp;           "Be careful how you live.

You may be the only Bible some people will ever read!"

I asked the Lord to bless you as I prayed for you today.
To guide you and protect you as you go along your way.

&nb sp;          His love is always with you,
&nb sp;              His promises are true,
&nb sp;      And when we give Him all our cares,
&nb sp;        You know He will see us through.

Deck Of cards

Psalms 27:3 “Though a host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.”

Deck of Cards

It was quiet that day, the guns and the mortars, and land mines for some reason hadn't been heard. The young soldier knew it was Sunday, the holiest day of the week.  As he was sitting there, he got out an old deck of cards and laid them out across his bunk.

Just then an army sergeant came in and said, "Why aren't you with the rest of the Platoon?" The soldier replied, "I thought I would stay behind and spend some time with the Lord."  The sergeant said, "Looks to me like you're going to play cards." The soldier said, No, sir. You see, since we are not allowed to have Bibles or other spiritual books in this country. I've decided to talk to the Lord by studying this deck of cards." The sergeant asked in disbelief, "How will you do that?"

  • "You see the Ace, Sergeant? It reminds me that there is only one God....
  • The Two represents the two parts of the Bible, Old and New Testaments.
  • The Three represents the Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost.
  • The Four stands for the Four Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.
  • The Five is for the five virgins there were ten but only five of them were glorified.
  • The Six is for the six days it took God to create the Heavens and Earth.
  • The Seven is for the day God rested after making His Creation...
  • The Eight is for the family of Noah and his wife, their three sons and their wives - the eight people God spared from the flood that destroyed the Earth.
  • The Nine is for the lepers that Jesus cleansed of leprosy. He cleansed ten, but nine never thanked Him.
  • The Ten represents the Ten Commandments that God handed down to Moses on tablets made of stone.
  • The Jack is a reminder of Satan, one of God's first angels, but he got kicked out of heaven for his sly and wicked ways and is now the joker of eternal hell.
  • The Queen stands for the Virgin Mary.
  • The King stands for Jesus, for he is the King of all kings.
  • When I count the dots on all the cards, I come up with 365 total, one for every day of the year. There are a total of 52 cards in a deck; each is a week - 52 weeks in a year.
  • The four suits represent the four seasons: Spring, Summer, Fall and  Winter.
  • Each suit has thirteen cards - there are exactly thirteen weeks in a quarter.

So when I want to talk to God and thank Him, I just pull out this old deck of cards and they remind me of all that I have to be thankful for."

The sergeant just stood there. After a minute, with tears in his eyes and pain in his heart, he said, "Soldier, can I borrow that deck of cards?"

Please let this be a reminder and take time to pray for all of our soldiers who are being sent away, putting their lives on the line fighting.

ALSO, Something cool that Xerox is doing. If you go to this web site, www.letssaythanks.com , you can pick out a thank you card and Xerox will print it and it will be sent to a soldier that is currently serving in Iraq . You can't pick out who gets it, but it will go to some member of the armed services. How AMAZING it would be if we could get everyone we know to send one!!!  This is a great site.  Please send a card.  It is FREE and it only takes a second.  Wouldn't it be wonderful if the soldiers received a bunch of these? Whether you are for or against the war, it is nice to let our fighting military that we are thinking of them.

In His Love,

Unfolding the rose bud

Unfolding the Rosebud

It is only a tiny rosebud,

 A flower of God's design;

But I cannot unfold the petals

With these clumsy hands of mine.

 The secret of unfolding flowers

Is not known to such as I.

GOD opens this flower so sweetly,

When in my hands they fade and die.

If I cannot unfold a rosebud,

 This flower of God's design,

Then how can I think I have wisdom

To unfold this life of mine?

So I'll trust in Him for His leading

 Each moment of every day.

I will look to him for His guidance

Each step of the pilgrim way.

The pathway that lies before me,

 Only my Heavenly Father knows.

I'll trust Him to unfold the moments,

Just as He unfolds the rose.

 Entry for 26 March 2006

When you lose a dear sister it makes you revalute your life, things that seemed important don't seem so big now. To those who have lost a loved one recently or a while ago, hang on in there time does heal you never forget the memory so this is to my beloved Sister Karen well loved and respected. Thanx for all your love and the life we shared together:

To Karen

I will never write a poem for you
although I have so much to say
Every time I try to write what I feel
tears fall like a pen bursting on the page

I never had the chance to say goodbye
and I never will because I never wanted you to go
Selfish of me, but I think if I never say the words
that one day you may come back home

I will never write a poem for you
but I hope you feel the poems from my heart
The short time that we had together
Was the inspiration for this art

Although I write these words today
I'll still never write a poem for you
Because there will never be enough words
written that will say how much I still love you

So let the tears that stream down my face
be like Braille to your fingertips
Trace them with your spirit filled hands
and listen to their words like poetry spoken from my lips

The life you lived is my poetic prose
your memories are the soliloquy in my soul
I could never write a poem for you
Because you were the first poem that
I'd known

Apples
Posted On 10/21/2006 18:00:04

Apples!
Women are like apples on trees. The best ones are at the top of the tree. The
men don't want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling
and getting hurt. Instead, they just get the rotten apples from the grounds
that aren't as good, but easy. So the apples at the top think something is
wrong with them, when in reality, THEY'RE amazing. They just have to wait
for the right man to come along, the one who's brave enough to climb all the
way to the top of the tree.
YOU'RE A GOOD APPLE. SHARE THIS WITH OTHER WOMEN WHO ARE GOOD
APPLES, EVEN THOSE WHO HAVE ALREADY BEEN PICKED. xx

Pub Steakout

Pub Steakout

The policeman had the bar under surveillance a few minutes before closing time, so he could see who comes out drunk.

The first one out the door at 2:00 o'clock weaved down the sidewalk, then fell on the curb. Sluggishly got up, then tried his keys in five cars before finding his own car.

Once inside his car, he fumbled with his keys for 2 or 3 minutes.

Meanwhile, all the club patrons had gotten into their cars and driven away, leaving this one fellow quite alone in the parking lot.

Finally, he got his car started and began to very slowly drive away.

Immediately, the police car was behind him with lights flashing.

The policeman asked the man to take a breathalyser test, to which he readily agreed.

When the reading was 0.0%, the policeman said, "How can this be?"

To which the man replied, "Because tonight, I'm the designated decoy."

Smart Blonde

A Blonde walks into an appliance store and tells the salesman "I want
that television over there". The salesman replies "Sorry lady, we don't sell to blondes!". She goes home, and in an attempt to outwit the salesman, colors here hair brown. She returns to the store the next day and says "I want that television over there". The salesman again replies "Sorry lady, we don't sell to blondes!"

Now she's really getting upset with his arrogance. So, she goes home, puts on men's clothing, a fake beard, glasses, and a heavy overcoat to hide her feminine shape. She returns to the store, and again she tells the salesman "I want that television over there". The salesman replies "Sorry lady, I told you before, we don't sell to blondes!". In total astonishment she asks the salesman "How did you know I'm a blonde?". He replied "Lady, that's a microwave oven!"
