AND JESUS CAME.

I was saved just before my 14th birthday, my schoolmate had given me a copy of "The cross and switchblade" to read. Some things stood out to me, like the thought of a crazy American preacher waving his bible around in a court of law, I've got a very vivid imagination and I could all but see him stood on that chair with his trumpet and bible on that downtown housing estate. There was his first encounter with Nicky Cruz and the effect of his simple words upon him, and not least the behaviour of the female gang members when they thought they would lose their sweethearts to The Lord, All these things made an impression on me. So when the invite came to go to a "revival" meeting I went not knowing what might happen, I also went along to the after-meeting and of course was soon "earwigged" but to my mate's great disappointment and that of the counsellors, I simply could not grasp the concept of Jesus coming into my heart, that would be like trying to fit an ocean into a teacup, it's silly. So they packed me off with their prayers and a magazine, containing as they pointed out the all important prayer. When I got home to my room I put the magazine aside, but it bugged me, it was there in the corner of my eye, I put it in the magazine rack, how strangely my eyes were drawn to it, I even lifted up the telly and slid it underneath and settled down to watch a programne, but instead of watching telly my eyes were riveted to the bottom of the set. I went out thinking about that magazine and when I came back to my room to bed I was thinking about it. Next morning the only thought I had was I must pray that prayer today. I dressed quickly and got the magazine and knelt down in my room to pray. I wanted the prayer (which was a long one) to come from my heart so I studied each line carefully and then changed the words into my own, taking care that the meaning was the same. I came to the place where it said "I ask You Lord Jesus to come into my heart." and do you know what? there is no other way to say that, it's just so simple and stark. As soon as I prayed those words, I jumped to my feet clapping and clasping my hands, I did not need to pray any more than that, I ran across the room jumping and clapping for pure glee shouting "hooray, hooray Jesus." just three words welled up in me, from the very core of me, "I am come." I got saved. For nights I could not sleep in my bed for the wave upon wave of joy and love that washed over me, I would doze and then wake to see angels in my room and one time I saw seven golden lamps at the foot of the bed. If perchance you have never asked Jesus to come into your heart do so now. Your heart is created a dwelling place for God, you can never be truly satisfied without Him. He will wash away your sins and reveal Himself to you, that you are loved with an everlasting love. May He bless you right now. Love from Susanne
