Youth Sunday
This morning we had a special kind of service. Most of the adults were given the day of, and the youth led us. They taught us in sunday school, they were the choir, took up the offering, and other "duties" normaly handled by us adults.
My 15 year old daughter, Jennifer, taught the preschool class. Jacob, my youngest at 14, helped his sister-in-law Felicia,21, teach 1st-3rd grade. Other youth were asigned to the remainder of the classes, young and old.
This mornings service was also special in another way. It was started off this morning with baptisms. As the youth sat quietly in the choir loft, the curtain was opened to reveal our pastor. He opened in prayer, spoke a few words, then introduced my daughter-in-law, Felecia to be baptised. As she left the pool he turned and introduced mry eldest son, Jonathan age 22.(Felicia's husband) He spoke of how Jonathan had realised the baptism he had gone thru as a child was for the wrong reasons, and now here he was to get things right with God in his life and his families.
I wathched beaming with pride as the words of Mathew 3:17 came to me. "This is my Son, in whom I am well pleased." I understand how he felt as I watched my own son respond in obedience to Him.
After that Jennifer sang a beautiful solo. And Jacob read the morning scripture. And I felt the same pride.
I believe each time one of His children is obedient or serves Him, He is just as pleased. And on this day, I am well pleased with all of my children.
