My 15 year old son is trying to tell me what makes music Christian ! When I tell him that he is wrong he tells me that I don't trust his judgement.
Okay people it is time to stop fooling yourselves. Christian music is all about the lyrics. There are many bands that come out with Christian songs but that doesn't make them a Christian band. Only if they do all Christian songs are they a Christian band. One example of this is DCTalk who play all Christian songs, and Creed who do not. Both bands are good and I approve of and like them, but they don't have lyrics like the following:
These words have slipped again.
Stitch the lips of the one that murmurs them.
Cloud your vision, make everyone disappear.
There's still time to wake up.
Get out while you still can speak.
This mud is too thick to see through.
The stitches are coming out.
The wounds won't heal.
Is this embedded status permanent?
So, I'm fearing the worst is yet to come.
Days are getting shorter.
Close your eyes for awhile.
Rest a little longer.
This mud is too thick to see through.
The stitches are coming out.
The wounds won't heal themselves.
Is this embedded status permanent?
Close your eyes for awhile.
Rest a little longer.
These shoulders are too weak to carry any more.
My will is too weak to carry on.
The Worst is Yet to Come by Still Ramains
My son is telling me that the above song and artist are Christian. If anyone can show me how this is Christian or even less dark than what I am seeing, then I will re-evaluate my decision to ground my son from the computer without supervision until further notice. He is getting a bad influence from kids at school and on myspace. Either he will cooperate or he will lose his myspace. I have given more than one chance to fix his myspace and get rid of the bad influences. There are kids his age on myspace that lie about their age, and include questionable content on thier site. I will not allow my son to be one of the bad influences!!
NOTE: If you are a parent of a child who has a myspace please monitor what they are doing, if you are not already. There are too many bad influences both children and adult running wild on myspace!
God bless you all.
