Calling on God's Name
Posted On 07/09/2007 03:50:53

"I called on your name, O LORD, from the depths of the pit. You heard my plea: "Do not close your ears to my cry for relief." You came near when I called you, and you said, "Do not fear. "O Lord, you took up my case; you redeemed my life."

Lamentations 3:55-58

This Scripture spoke to my heart. So many times I feel discouraged, and it seems like God isn't listening to me, though deep in my heart I know He's right there. The truth is that when we call on His name, He doesn't just say "I'm here, don't be afraid," but He comes near so we can hear His voice clearly. He knows us well, He knows our voices, and when we cry out to Him, He doesn't close His ears, but answers to our pleas. He can redeem our lives. So many times I forget how mighty my God is, and let the fear find a place in my heart. "Do not fear" says the Lord.

So when we are afraid, or down, when we don't know what step to take next, we can cry out to God and He will be right there, near, ready to bring us out of the deepest pit.

What a Mighty God we serve!!!

Yesterday, Today and Forever
Posted On 04/26/2007 06:13:17

I just read this, so I wanted to share it with everybody else. It's a great thing to know, that God is the same today and tomorrow and forever, as He was yesterday. So here's the quotation:

(Heb 13:8)

“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.”

“If you want to know what God is like today, look at how Jesus was while on earth. Why?Jesus is God and the exact image of the Father!

If we know how Jesus treated people when He was on earth, we will then know how He will treat us today.

Why?

Because scripture tells us that He is the same today as He was while He was on earth.Yesterday (as He was in the Gospels) so He is today and He will not change tomorrow. How then did He treat people and situations yesterday?  Well, let us look in the Gospels and see how he treated people and situations then.

Let us look into three areas primarily.

1.    He forgave sins

2.   He healed the sick

3.   He called ordinary men

Does He still do that today? He sure does. May His Name be praised!!!”
