Habakkuk 3:17-19 Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop falls and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in their stalls, Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior. The Sovereign Lord is my strength, he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, and he enables me to go on the heights. For the director of music on my stringed instruments Even though we go through our trials and tribulations, we are to still rejoice in the Lord. When we go through things that seem unbearable or near impossible just call on God. Praise Him in the midst of what you are going through. Thank Him for bringing you out of your dry places. Give Him all the glory for it. One way or another He will get the honor and glory that’s due. There were times in my life when I felt that He had left me. He was there all along. All I had to do was cry aloud and spare not. We have to get to the point where it doesn’t matter who is around. We need that “crazy praise”. We need that type of praise where it will scare ourselves let alone everyone else. Isaiah 54:1 says, “Sing O, barren woman, you who never bore a child; burst into song, shout for joy, you who were never in labor; because more are the children of the desolate woman than her who has a husband.” (NIV) What God was saying is that He wants you to praise like you’ve never praised in your life. We all get weary and that’s when he wants it even more. That never-before praise. As you continue on in your praise, He will lift you up both spiritually and physically. Your lives will be changed dramatically. You will never be the same again. Your new life will begin. So come on let’s stand for the Lord and He will make our feet like the feet of a deer, He will enable us to go on the heights. (Habakkuk 3:19) Praise the Lord! Be Blessed In the Lord
Matthew 22:36-40 Words of Jesus written in red. "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" Jesus replied' Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." As Jesus ate with the Pharisees, we find in this passage of scripture not only were they curious as to what Jesus was going to say, they were testing Him. It was as though they were trying to catch Him saying something wrong. Loving God with all your heart, soul, and mind is the first and greatest commandment of them all. Once you submit your everything to Him, everything else will fall into place God is love. So how can you love God whom you haven’t seen and then turn around? and say I don't like so and so. It. doesn't work like that. The Bible says love your neighbor as yourself Your have to show genuine love for one another. You can't go and talk and be friendly with one person and then go behind that person's back and talk about them to someone else. God is looking for that unselfish love. The king of love that shows in someone's inward appearance. The kind that will make people come up to you and say, “I don't know what it is, but there is just something about you. I just had to come and speak to you." Don't you know that is God working through you without using words? He is showing himself through you. Just by you smiling or walking in confidence. We need that genuine love for one another. The type of love that even though someone has done you wrong, you can still forgive them and show them kindness. John 13:34, 35 "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." Jesus told his disciples that after He returned to the Father, He still wanted them to show love for one another. It was a way of showing people that these were His followers and even after His death they were still practicing His teachings. Sometimes you have to let your light so shine before your fellow man. Your good deed is another example of showing love. Be genuine toward each other. God showed His love by sending His only son to earth to save us all from sin, and sometimes we can't even hug someone because “we don't like them." Time is out for stuff like that. God's love is pure and genuine. He loves us in spite of the fact we mess up time and time again. We all are not perfect. We all fall short. Jesus says to love one another as He had loved us. You can't get a better gift than that. Luke 6:35 But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High because He is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. Yeah, we have to love our enemies, too. That is one of the hardest things we as Christians have to do nowadays. God knows it's hard for us to love our enemies, but it's something we must do. Jesus did it. In Luke 23:34, it says, "Then Jesus said, ' Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do." He asked his Father to forgive the very men that crucified Him. That's really loving your enemies. When you can look into the very face of the people who mocked you, whipped you, hung you on a cross, and ask God to forgive them. That is so awesome, people. That is the kind of love I want. Love the people who don't like you. Be kind to everyone. Show respect to all people. In other words, treat people the way you would want to be treated. Let us pray: Lord, I thank you for showing me genuine love. Thank you for being God because in my heart, I know you are love. Lord, bless the people reading this word that you have sent to me to share with them. I don't know what they stand in need of but you do and I ask that you grant whatever they ask you for. Father, I pray that you give them the love you gave your Son Jesus when he was being crucified. In Jesus Name, Amen

12/27/07 Matthew 4: 1-11(NIV) Words of Jesus written in red. (1) Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil. (2) After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. (3) The tempter came to Him and said, “If You are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.” (4) Jesus answered, “It is written: Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.” (5) Then the devil took Him to the holy city and had Him stand on the highest point of the temple. (6) “If You are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written: “’ He will command His angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’ “(7) Jesus answered him, “It is also written: Do not put the Lord your God to the test.” (8) Again, the devil took Him to a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. (9) “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.” (10) Jesus said to him, “Away from me Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve Him only.’ “(11) Then the devil left Him, and angels came and attended Him. That passage was so powerful. Even as I write this I can feel the presence of the Lord in here. But I must admit It did take me a long time to post this. I have that problem with obedience and I know that obedience is better than sacrifice. So here goes: If Jesus was tempted in the desert after fasting for forty days and forty nights, what makes you think the enemy will not try to tempt you? What makes you anymore special than the rest of us? At some point in our lives we have been or will be tempted. Some of us are going through temptation right now! Whether it’s a lust issue, gambling, etc, we are either going through or coming out of our trial. 1st Corinthians 10:13 states that God is faithful enough to not let us be tempted enough beyond what we can bear. When we are tempted, He always provides a means of escape and in the end He will get the glory out of it all. Hallelujah! God would never put more on us than we can bear. So when we go through it, just know we are going to come out of it. God allowed it and also made a way for us to escape it. Praise the Lord!!!! Glory to your name, God!!! What God is showing us in this passage is that no matter what Satan throws our way, we need to be like His Son Jesus and say, “Away from me, Satan.” Let’s continue to give God all the praise in the midst of the enemy’s temptations. Prayer: Lord God, thank you for providing a means of escape when we are being tempted by the enemy. Father, we thank you for not putting more on us than we can bear. Lord we ask that you give us the strength to resist Satan like You gave Jesus on the mountain. In Jesus’ holy and precious name, Amen!
A wise woman A wise woman who was traveling in the mountains found a precious stone in a stream.
The next day she met another traveler who was hungry, and the wise woman opened her bag to share her food. The hungry traveler saw the precious stone and asked the woman to give it to him. She did so without hesitation.
The traveler left, rejoicing in his good fortune. He knew the stone was worth enough to give him security for a lifetime. But a few days later he came back to return the stone to the wise woman.
"I've been thinking," he said, "I know how valuable the stone is, but I give it back in the hope that you can give me something even more precious.
She looked at him with a questionable look and said, "What is it you would like from me?" He said, "Give me what you have inside you that caused you to give me the stone."
Lord, allow all those that YOU bring in our path to only see YOU and cause them to desire what YOU have placed within us. We give YOU thanks and praise always. For only YOU are worthy of our praise.
This was something that was given to me in a picture form and I must share this with you all.
The Warrior's Prayer
Heavenly Father, Your warrior prepares for battle. Today I claim victory over satan by putting on the whole Armor of God. I put on the Girdle of Truth, may I stand firm in the Truth of Your Word so I will no be victim of satan's lies. I put on the Breastplate of Righteousness, may I guard my heart from evil so I remain Pure and Holy, protected under the blood of Jesus Christ. I put on the Shoes of Peace, may I stand firm in the good news of the Gospel so your Peace can shine through me and be a light to all I encounter. I put on the Shield of Faith, may I be ready for satan's fiery darts of doubt, denial, and deceit so I will not be vulnerable to spiritual defeat. I put on the Helmet of Salvation, may I keep my mind focused on You so satan will not have a strong hold on my thoughts. I take the Sword of the Spirit, may the two-edged sword of your word be ready in my hands so I can expose the tempting words of satan. By faith, Your warrior has put on the whole Armor of God. I am Prepared to live this day in spiritual victory
Amen!!!

SHAKE THE HATERS OFF!
A hater is someone that is jealous and envious and spends all their time trying to make you look small so they can look tall. They are very negative people. Nothing is ever good enough!
When you make your mark, you will always attract some haters... That's why you have to be careful who you share your blessings and your dreams with because some folk can't handle seeing you blessed...
It's dangerous to be like somebody else... If God wanted you to be like somebody else. He would have given you what He gave them.
You don't know what people have gone through to get what they have... The problem I have with haters is that they see my glory, but they don't know my story... If the grass looks greener on the other side of the fence, you can rest assured that the water bill is higher there too.
We've all got some haters among us: Some people don't like it that you can: * Have a relationship with God * Light up a room when you walk in * Start your own business * Tell a man/woman to get lost (if he/she ain't about the right thing) * Raise children without both parents being around * And not ask for a dime from Anyone
* Haters don't want to see you happy * Haters don't want to see you succeed * Haters don't want you to get the victory
Most of our haters are people that are supposed to be on our side. How do you handle the haters who you at least expect to have your guard up against? You can handle your haters by:
1. *Knowing who you are & who your true friends are * (VERY IMPORTANT!!) 2. *Having a purpose to your life * 3. *By remembering what you have is by divine prerogative and not human manipulation.*
Purpose does not mean having a job. You can have a job and still be unfulfilled. A purpose is having a clear sense of what God has called you to be. Your purpose is not defined by what others think about you.
Fulfill your dreams! You only have one life to live................when its your time to leave this earth, you want to be able to say,"I've lived my life and fulfilled my dreams, .........I'm ready to go HOME!
When God gives you a favor, you can tell your haters, "Don't look at me... Look at who is in charge of me..." Watch out for Haters............................BUT most of all don't become a HATER yourself!

Prayer

It seems as though we "Baby Christians" are having the hardest time finding the right words to say when we want to talk to God. James 5:16 states, Confess your trespasses to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man avails much. Don't get discouraged my brothers and sisters, God hears wholehearted prayers. Hear is a little something that can also help you along your way. Five Finger Prayer 1. Your thumb is nearest to you. So begin your prayer for those close to you. They are easiest to remember. To pray for our loved ones is, as C.S. Lewis said, "a sweet duty." 2. The next finger is the pointing finger. Pray for those who teach, instruct, and heal. This includes teachers, doctors, and ministers. They need support and wisdom in pointing others in the right direction. Keep them in your prayers. 3. The next finger is the tallest finger. It reminds us of our leaders. Pray for the president, leaders in industry, and business and administrators. Those people shape our nation and guide public opinion. They need God's guidance. 4.The fourth finger is our ring finger. Suprising to many is the fact that this is our weakest finger; as any piano teacher will testify. It should remind us to pray for those who are weak, in trouble, or in pain. They need your prayers day and night. You cannot pray too much for them. 5. And lastly, comes our little finger; the smallest finger of all. Which is where we should place ourselves in revelation to God and others. As the Bible says, " the least shall be the greatest among you." Your pinky should remind you to pray for yourself. Dear Lord, We thank you for prayer. Its is good to have a friend to talk to, but even friends sometimes have trouble thinking of something to say. Help us to remember this Five Finger Prayer to remember those who need our prayers. In Jesus' name
