There are only 2 religions: Christianity, and idolatry. One is God offering heaven to man through grace, the other is man’s pointless attempt to work towards God. There is only one way to God because Jesus is the only means by which God can let us into heaven. Jesus is the only way; he is the cure to death, just as there is only one cure for a life-threatening disease. There are many paths that lead to Jesus but only one way to God, and that is through Jesus. God tells us that Jesus is the only way, the only life and the only truth, no one gets access to God and heaven unless they go through Jesus, and only Him. We need to accept that these are the terms on which God will grant us access to Heaven; We must repent of our sins and trust only in Jesus work for our salvation. If we do, God will accept it on our behalf, and close our court case because Jesus paid our fine on the cross in his life’s blood and Justice was served in our case. We are guilty but we are still free to go because our fine was paid for us. This payment cost Jesus his life, and we should not trample on the precious blood of Jesus, but instead realize we are sinners who have offended a holy and just God, we have committed uncountable crimes against Him (by transgressing His Law) and we need a perfect sacrifice in order to be forgiven. Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins. Since Adam sinned and caused all to receive a sin nature, only a perfect and righteous one being sacrificed on our behalf would ever make us right with God. Therefore, we must repent and trust in Jesus. If we receive this gift ‘by faith’ in Christ, then we will be forgiven of all our sins (past, present and future), and immediately be converted into the family of God as a new creation with new and right desires that are God-ward and no longer sin-ward.

Encouragement and Reflection:What are you building your life around? What is the center of your life ? Really?? You can center your life around your career, family, job, sports, hobbies, money, fun, or other activities... but they are not what God wants you to have at the center of your life. What is at the center of your life actually determines who you are and the choices you make. If your life is built upon an idol like the afore mentioned items or things, then you are breaking the 1st and 2nd commandments. God is to be first in your life. Christ is to be at the center, and your life should radiate Christ as you life a holy and godly life in this evil and fallen world. If Christ is indeed the center of your life, you should be growing in holiness and studying the Bible regularly, and praying to God daily. Your prayer life should grow and your life should be based on scripture as its application to your life grows and thrives because of Christ Jesus at the center of your life. Your words, actions, thoughts, and decisions are based on holiness. We are to be holy as God is Holy, this is what Scripture says. My challenge for you today is to look at your life and see if Christ is really at the center of your life. If not, Get right with God today and as Ephesians 3:17 says "I pray that your faith in Christ will grow more and more in your life". Your life is on "God's track" for your life and you are in His will if you are living for Him and making the Kingdom of God the priority in your life. May God bless you in 2008 as you seek to live for God and be a growing disciple of Christ.
Make your resolution this year to dive into scripture deeply and get the most out of God's word for your life. Read the scriptures regularly, pray to God often, and be part of the local church where you can serve the Lord and worship him there. If you are not plugged into a bible study class - do so for your spiritual growth and benefit.
God bless you in 2008
