What i call the Social church doctrine
Posted On 11/10/2006 19:20:16

Was debating if I should post this now or if I should finish it first, I decided to post it now. I have some stuff to ad to this for sure. If you find that you follow one or all of (for lack of a better term) the social churches doctrine please feel free to question any or all of it from scripture. If you can’t show me that any of this is ok from the scripture itself please save yourself the time.

The social Church

Doctrine

Social Christianity generally states one of the following. We believe scripture as long as it does not interfere with our life styles. We believe truth is changing and that the Bible is not always relevant today. We may or may not claim to believe that the Bible is true 100 percent. We believe that (at least on the points we disagree with) the Bible is cultural and that there is a good chance that it no longer applies to our lives today.

We Believe Jesus Christ was God but not the same God as found in the old testament. He is another God and though many of us believe in the trinity we see no relation between Jesus and Elohim.

We Believe Jesus is a loving God and that he therefor accepts anything and everything we do as long as we say we belong to him and claim we are sorry or repentant.

We do not believe in judging, unless of course someone uses the Bible to prove us wrong, in which case we will claim that he/she is judging and thus be judging ourselves. We believe in accepting anything and everything people do, though we have a variety of standards regarding what we believe is right and wrong. When it comes down to it man decides what is right and wrong and the Bible is just used for show.

We deny anything about us that sounds bad to us. Sounding good is important to us.

We use creative arguments and creative logic to define truth and not the word of God.

We will generally react negatively if shown any scripture that may make us uncomfortable or challenge our current way of thinking and sometimes we completely refuse to look at what scripture says.

We are quick to accuse people who may state we are wrong as being legalistic and claim that they are putting God in a box. We may call them a variety of other things such as Pharisee for example.

We Believe Christ’s words except when they contradict our logic and life styles.

Everyone do your own thing, truth is not absolute.

We believe we are all sinners, so while we claim we are growing and changing we don’t really because we adopt a defeatist attitude and do not believe in the power of the Holy Spirit. We do not believe that sin in our lives will become less frequent so we don’t even try, God will forgive us anyway.

Our doctrinal statement is sometimes spoken of using words but more frequently we will deny 1 or all points of this doctrinal statement. However as with any religion you can know our true beliefs through our actions which generally show that we believe most if not all of Social Christianity’s doctrines.
