Peter just tells this crippled man to get up and walk in the name of Jesus, and the man is healed instantly. Wow! Could you even imagine anything happening like that?? To me, that is amazing! And I believe it could happen even today, cause God is amazing and all things through him are possible!!
We had a bulliten board due at work. So we had the kids do watercolor paintings, and I did one just for fun, but I think it turned out pretty good!
Just wanted to let everyone know!! 
I have been reading in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John about the leading up to Jesus dieing on the cross,and it makes me mad. I mean, I don't really know how to explain this, but before when I would read this I would be mad, but more in the mind set that Jesus did it for our sins and that was that. Don't get me wrong now, because Jesus definently did die on the cross for our sins, but now when I read it, after getting really close to God since about January. And by really close I mean, getting more into worship, reading the Bible everyday, and praying like I am supposed to, God has opened my mind and heart to learn things I already knew, but in a different way. So when I read about all this in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John it made me think hard about it, and how much Jesus had to go through, and it makes me want to worship God with all I have and build an even stronger relationship with him. Because he went through so much just for me, and nothing I could do could ever repay him!
This chapter is so reassuring! When I read it I just got this overall comfort feeling. Of knowing that Jesus is in my life and not to have doubts about anything. Jesus says in the chapter:
The person who trusts me will not only do what I'm doing but even greater things, because I, on my way to the Father, am giving you the same work to do that I've been doing.
And to me that is so awesome. Doing the same work that Jesus was doing when he was on earth. I wish I was able to speak to Jesus face to face like all the diciples and his mother Mary and father Joseph did. That would have been so cool! To hear Jesus' teachings come straight from his mouth. Sorry, I got sidetracked lol
8-9 He said, "Watch out for the doomsday deceivers. Many leaders are going to show up with forged identities claiming, 'I'm the One,' or, 'The end is near.' Don't fall for any of that. When you hear of wars and uprisings, keep your head and don't panic. This is routine history and no sign of the end."
10-11 He went on, "Nation will fight nation and ruler fight ruler, over and over. Huge earthquakes will occur in various places. There will be famines. You'll think at times that the very sky is falling.
12-15 "But before any of this happens, they'll arrest you, hunt you down, and drag you to court and jail. It will go from bad to worse, dog-eat-dog, everyone at your throat because you carry my name. You'll end up on the witness stand, called to testify. Make up your mind right now not to worry about it. I'll give you the words and wisdom that will reduce all your accusers to stammers and stutters.
16-19 "You'll even be turned in by parents, brothers, relatives, and friends. Some of you will be killed. There's no telling who will hate you because of me. Even so, every detail of your body and soul—even the hairs of your head!—is in my care; nothing of you will be lost. Staying with it—that's what is required. Stay with it to the end. You won't be sorry; you'll be saved.
When I read verses 12-15 I was just like, wow. A little voice inside my head told me, I'm ready for that. I'm ready to stick up for God in anyway possible. But then I thought to myself, am I really ready? What will I say when it comes down to it? Am I the only one who ever thinks of these things? I love God more then anything and live for him everyday, and believe that he will be back for his people. I just hope when it comes down to it I say what I believe no matter what the circumstances. Then in verses 16-19 when it talks about people hating you because of your faith and belif in God, I saw some faces in my head of people I know right now that hate me because of some choices I made, because I knew it was what God wanted. But I know that I do what God wants and I know he is proud of me, And I can honestly say that is all that matters. He has really shown me what it is like to live for him in the last month or so.
I can't wait for the day God brings me an awesome Christian guy who loves God more then anything in the world, and who worships him, and reads his word, and just wants to learn more and more about God everyday! Someone I can talk to, and just spend all my time with, and who will love me for me! I can't wait for that day. And I will wait as long as God wants me to, cause I know when I find him it will be worth the wait!
My lesson is going to be based on the song "Cry Out to Jesus" by Third Day. Listening to the song made me think of hard times in my life when I've cried out to Jesus and he has shown me his love or has let me know that it is going to be okay. I'm asking that you message me a short paragraph about a time when you cried out to Jesus. It's doesn't have to be really personel, or it can be if you chose to. Our youth group ages range from 12-18 years old. I just want to be able to tell stories other then my own to encourage them. I probably won't even be doing my lesson until October sometime, but I just want to get it prepared. Thank you for your help
