Riten by KayLee Pate, age 10

Sometimes life can be deficult but if you think stupid stuf about each other, you just going to get mader and mader. Sometimes you think that the whoul world is agenst you. But no, no one is agenst you, it's you agenst your self. My sister Moriah and me are dooing just fine now, just becase of crist [Christ]. Before we ever did, life seemed so hard, espeshely whene we got into fites. Befor you hit, befor you kick, and befor you do a rong move, go to a parent or a gardien. Your supost to be Gods children not the Devels slave.

Where's My Bible?

What in the world does one write about when all things in the world are going through the mind at once?  So many thoughts, like a hundred different flavors of Jelly Belly jellybeans.  Where shall we begin?  Priorities.  God comes first.  Let's write about Him!  I want uninterrupted time to spend with Him.  Mealtime thanksgiving is not enough.  Sunday or Wednesday church services are not enough.  Reading my Bible is not enough;  I want to be able to read it, think about His words, chew on them like cud and be nourished.  I want the time and patience to just sit and listen.  I can't do that for some reason.  I can't be silent without thinking for more than ten seconds.  Those thoughts creep in...The thoughts that I wrote about in the second sentence of this blog.  Not always important thoughts.  But thoughts, nonetheless, that wiggle their way in, taking cuts, butting in front of my conversation with God and rudely interrupting. One time I expressed my desire for God to speak audibly to me.  Wouldn't that be wonderful?  Then, when I asked Jesus what He would do, He'd tell me and it would all be over!  No guesswork, no mistakes (if I listened), and no misinterpreting the directions.  Hearing His voice in my ear, instead of my heart - Wow!  Wouldn't that be great?  Like talking on the phone to my best friend.  I wonder why not.  Faith.  The evidence of things unseen...or unheard?  His voice is felt in the heart.  It vibrates the soul instead of the ears.  We read His Word, study His Word and meditate on it day after day - in order to know what He would say before we ask.  To know The Word is to know God.  What greater intimacy is there than to know the mind of someone?  To know their thoughts, their desires, their will, their memories - What a connection it creates!
