Jesus said (John 3:16-21) [16] "For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. [17]God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. [18] There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believeing in God's one and olny Son.[19] And the judgment is based on this fact: God's lightcame into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil. [20] All who do evil hate the light and refuse to go near it for fear their sins will be exposed. [21] But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants."
(Ephesians 2:4-6) [4] "But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, [5] that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God's grace that you have been saved!) [6] For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus."
The lady in the video is a rep (and daughter of the leader Fred Phelps) for the Westboro Baptist Chruch. Which isnt actually associated wtih any Baptist denomination, and in 1955 he was kicked out by a Baptist church, to which he started hie Westboro cult.
Fred Phelps Claims that there is nothing in the Bible that says God loves everyone. He even tries to use John 3:16 as proof. On his website (which is title "godhatesfags.com") he wrote this about John 3:15-20;
Notice that the verse does not say, God loves everyone. It says that whosoever (not every person, but those that believe, however many they be) believeth should not perish but have eternal life. Verse 15 is always conveniently left out of the equation when this verse is quoted because it is restrictive and does not suit the purpose of god loves everyone. For God so loved the world refers to the fact that Jesus was speaking to a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews (John 16:1) who believed that only the Jews were saved to the exclusion of the rest of the world. John 3:18 and 19 clear up any question about the matter. They way that that he that does not believe is condemned already and that even though light (salvation/Jesus) has come to the world (the whole world, not just the Jews), men love darkness (sin/Satan) rather than light, because their deeds are evil. This does not sound like God loves everyone but a pronouncement on the evil of man even when presented with the possibility of salvation
He states that when the verse says "whosoever believes in me" does not mean "everyone", which in a sense is true. Not everyone believes or will believe in Jesus Christ, but that does not mean that it is open to everyone to believe. God gave all of us a choice when he created us. And it is our choice to decide to follow God. So Christ came to die for us all, but not all of us will choose to except Him as the savior.
And notice how he contridicts himself when he repeats "he that does not believe is condemned already and that even though light (salvation/Jesus) has come to the world (the whole world, not just the Jews), men loved darkness (sin/Satan) rather than light, because their deeds are evil." This DOES sound like God loves everyone! God sent Jesus (his Son, the light) unto earth to save EVERYONE (the world) that believes in him. Not just believe but follow, serve, obey, and teach the truth of salvation;
(Matthew 20:25-28) [25] But Jesus called them together and said, "You know that the rulers in this world lord it over their people, and officials flaunt their authority over those under them. [26] But among you it will be differnt. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, [27] and whoever wants to be first among you must become your slave. [28] For even the son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many."
Phelps (and his congrigation) likes to say that "God hates fags". First of all, God doesnt hate anybody. We were created in love, to love. If God could hate, then there would be no need for Jesus as salvation, because there would be no consiquence for sin. To hate someone is a sin, and if God could sin, he would cease to exist. God is love, and the devil is sin. God created the devil in love and the devil tured agaisnt God, it was his choice and he made it. God did not creat sin. Because sin isdisobeying Gods law, and "bad is good done wrong" (C.S. Lewis) Second, being a homosexual does not give you a one way ticket to hell the instant you decide to be gay. Being !@#$ is just as much of a sin as murder, lying, or dishonoring your parents. If you lie, your a liar. If you kill, your a murderer. If you disobey your parents, your disobedient. But Jesus died on the cross so that our sins would be forgiven. This is a gift to the world, to whom ever will choose to except it. So if you are gay, and you wish to stop that sin, then God will except you into his kingdom when you die. But if you think that being !@#$ is a way of life, or something that your born as. Then your sin will rule your life, and you will go to hell. Because if homosexuality is something you are born with, then that would mean it was excepted by God. But the Bible clearly states it is a sin. And any sin against God, is punishable by death.
(Leviticus 18:22) [22] "Do not practice homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman. It is a detestable sin."
(Proverbs 26:24-26) [24] People may cover their hatred with pleasant words, but they're deveiving you. [25] They pretend to be kind, but don't believe them. Their hearts are full of many evils [26] While their hatred may be concealed by trickery, their wrongdoing will be exposed in public."
