According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love. Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will. (Ephesians 1:4-5)1-And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. (Revelation 22:17) 2-I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me. Proverbs 8:17 3- All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. (John 6:37) 4- And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Acts 2:21) Theses four quotes are very simple to understand that God is giving us free will to come and be saved. By His grace are we all given that opportunity to become His sons. And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. (Galatians 4:6-7)This will had also been given to those in the Old Testament, and many were kings and rulers. Today we’ll see how Saul’s life is an example of what history has repeated in the new testament by he who became a traitor selling Jesus for 30 pieces of silver, the cost of a slave. As with Judas, Saul was chosen by God Himself. The bible says that God gave Saul to be king over the people of Israel, gave him a new heart, giving evidence by Saul prophesying amongst Gods prophets (1 Samuel 10:9-10).In chapter 12 verse 14 and 15 of 1 Samuel you see how Saul was given the same freewill that you and I have today. “If ye will fear the LORD, and serve him, and obey his voice, and not rebel against the commandment of the LORD, then shall both ye and also the king that reigneth over you continue following the LORD your God. But if ye will not obey the voice of the LORD, but rebel against the commandment of the LORD, then shall the hand of the LORD be against you, as it was against your fathers”. As a self professed Christian that you are, the word of God says in Leviticus 11 verses 44 and 45 “For I am the LORD your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. For I am the LORD that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy”.As Christ Jesus promised us and delivered the Holy Ghost on us, so by our believes, actions, thoughts, and prayers it said in 1 Peter chapter 1 verse 22 “ Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit” As God commanded Saul in 1 Samuel chapter 15 verse 3 “Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass”. Saul did go to the city of Amalek, but held the king Agag captive instead, and all the sheep and oxen and all that was good to them , those things which were profitable to them. After the disobedience of Saul, the Lord repented He had made Saul king, in chapter 15 verse 22 and 23 “And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king”.The promises of our God still are loud saying in the book of Galatians chapter 5 verse 19 through 21 “Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God”. The spirit of the Lord departed from Saul and an evil spirit went into him; then with the same evil spirit he prophesied (1 Samuel 18:10) This was not the first or the last time Saul had prophesied, but the same said Jesus in Matthew chapter 7 verse 22 “Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity”Saul in his times of trouble called on the Lord “And when Saul enquired of the LORD, the LORD answered him not, neither by dreams, nor by Urim, nor by prophets”. And His promises to those who have not listened and have ignored Him, sinning willingly in the book of Proverbs chapter 1 verse 24 through 28 “Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded; But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof. I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh; When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you. Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me.”Those have become the enemies of God (1 Samuel 28:16) (Romans 5:10)Saul commits suicide.God has a plan for His church “ Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord. In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit”. (Ephesians 2:19-22)If you walk away from your promise, someone will take that responsibility by God’s anointing.
