PSALM OF SINGING
Long live God, my creator:
let us join in a chorus of praise.
Thank God in music and singing:
with records, tapes and stereo.
Thank God in psalms and anthems:
in choirs and places where they sing.
Thank God in black Gospel choirs:
moving with a hand-clap side to side.
Thank God with jazz and soulful melodies:
on trombone, saxophone and trumpet.
Thank God in orchestra and bandstand:
in streets and pubs and concert-halls.
Thank God in rock and roll discos:
with electronic sound and rhythm.
Young and old sing together:
“Long live God, the Sovereign of all.â€
Today I stumbled and once again Was lifted up by an unseen hand. What comfort and joy that knowledge brings For I hear the whisper of angel wings. The guardian angels God sends to all To bear us up when we stumble and fall. Trust Him, my friend, and often you'll hear The whisper of angel wings hovering near.....Hello my sweet friend. It's been a long time since I've been around to visit you. Hope all is well with you and yours. Wanted to stop by and wish you a wonderful week and that God's angels will surround you and protect you from all harm. I know His angels have been with me this past weekend and certainly kept watch over me. God's love and peace has surrounded me and I have felt God's arms around me. What would we do without God and His mercy and grace to help up when we fall. He is always there to pick us up and lets us know to keep on, keeping on for Him and never, never give up. The last few days have been beautiful here in Texas. I have sit out on my front porch and taken in all the fresh spring air that God has so graciously given us. As I was sitting on the porch one day a bird happen to fly right in front of me from my arch that is in my flower garden there by the front porch. I looked over just to the side of where I was sitting and what did I behold but a bird's nest with two little birds with their heads sticking up and their mouths opened waiting to be fed. It sure startled me for a moment because I looked over on top of my house and there sit the mama and daddy birds on the roof looking right down at me. Then they would swope right down in front of me as if to say "get away from my babies". Now I don't know what to do with the nest or birds because I love sitting on my porch but feel threatened by the mama and daddy birds. I wonder if we move the nest to some other tree if they will be ok or will the parents not have anything to do with the baby birds if we move them? I am going to call someone to try to move it because I can't even go out my front door. I walk on a walker so I am not very steady on my feet. What a mess to be in. I don't want to do anything that would hurt the baby birds so I don't know what to do? Well my dear friend you be blessed and have a wonderful Tuesday. Love 'N' Hugs...gerri
GOOD MORNING MY FRIEND....I APPRECIATE YOUR FRIENDSHIP SO MUCH. HERE IS A POEM I MAY HAVE SENT BEFORE BUT CAME ACROSS IT TODAY AND THOUGHT IT WAS REALLY CUTE SO WANTED TO SHARE IT WITH YOU. HOPE YOU ENJOY.
I TALK TO ME
I TALK TO ME A LOT THESE DAYS ABOUT THE THINGS I DO.
I FIND THAT I QUITE OFTEN NEED A SERIOUS TALKING TO.
"GET THOSE SHOULDERS BACK" I SAY TO ME, AS I START DOWN THE HALL.
I GET THEM BACK AND START MY TREK; AND HOPE I WILL NOT FALL.
I SAY TO ME, WHEN I AWAKE, AND THE PAIN IS REALLY BAD,
"REMEMBER MANY HAVE MORE PAIN THAN I HAVE EVER HAD."
IT REALLY IS ANNOYING NOT UNDERSTANDING WHAT THEY SAY
AND I WONDER IF I ANSWERED IN SOME STUPID WAY.
THEN I TELL ME TO REMEMBER STUPID ANSWERS ARE NOT NEW.
SOMETIMES WHEN I STILL HEARD WELL, I MADE STUPID ANSWERS TOO.
I NEED A READING GLASS THESE DAYS AND SO I SAY TO ME,
"BE VERY THANKFUL I CAN READ, MANY CANNOT EVEN SEE."
I TELL ME I SHOULD EXERCISE THOUGH I'D RATHER SIT AND READ
BUT IF I WANT TO KEEP MY SRENGTH WHAT IT TELLS ME I MUST HEED.
I CAN STILL WALK AND SEE AND HEAR THOUGH NOT AS IT USED TO BE.
I FIND IT REALLY HELPS A LOT THE TIMES I TALK TO ME.

PHIL COLBURN IS A WIDOW, NINETY-NINE YEARS OLD. SHE WRITES POETRY TO KEEP HER MIND CLEAR, PENNING A POEM EACH MONTH FOR HER CHURCH NEWSLETTER. WHAT A TESTIMONY...I PRAY THAT WHEN I AM NINETY-NINE I WILL BE ABLE TO DO WHAT THIS DEAR SWEET LADY DOES TO BLESS OTHERS. STILL BEING USED OF GOD, DOING WHAT SHE DOES SO WELL. WELL...YOU BE BLESSED IN SO MANY WAYS AND HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND WITH GOD'S PEACE, JOY AND LOVE BEING WITH YOU. WE ARE HAVING SOME STRONG WINDS HERE WHERE I LIVE BLOWING NEARLY EVERYTHING OVER. THE PICTURE OF THE WATER RAGING WITH GOD'S HANDS STRETCHED OUT OVER IT AS IF TO SAY WINDS BE STILL; THAT'S WHAT I AM PRAYING THAT GOD WILL CALM THE WINDS. BUT OTHER THAN THAT WE ARE HAVING BEAUTIFUL WEATHER. WE DID HAVE A VERY HOT DAY THIS WEEK. ON WEDNESDAY IT WAS 94 DEGREES. WHAT ARE WE GOING TO HAVE FOR A SUMMER IF IT IS ALREADY GETTING UP IN THE 90'S. THE REST OF THE WEEK HAS BEEN IN THE 80'S AND REALLY NICE. GUESS I HAD BETTER MOVE ALONG SO I CAN GET OR TRY TO GET SOME SLEEP. I HAD MINOR SURGERY TUESDAY AND HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO SLEEP SINCE. THE MOST SLEEP I HAVE HAD IS LIKE A COUPLE OF HOURS AT ONE TIME BUT I NEED AT LEAST SIX HOURS OF GOOD SLEEP. IF YOU THINK ABOUT IT PLEASE PRAY THAT GOD WILL GIVE ME SOME GOOD SLEEP. THANKS SO MUCH FOR REMEMBERING ME. LOTS OF HUGS AND MUCH LOVE TO YOU.

WE HAD A COLD SPELL COME IN TONIGHT AROUND MIDNIGHT SO IT IS VERY COLD IN HERE RIGHT NOW. IN FACT I THINK I AM GOING TO TURN THE HEAT ON. YOU WOULD THINK I WOULD NEED THE AIR ON BUT IF I AM COLD THEN I AM GOING TO GET WARM. MY HANDS ARE SO COLD I CAN HARDLY TYPE. WE JUST GOT THROUGH GOING THROUGH SPRING FOR A FEW DAYS SO I GUESS IT'S TIME FOR A FEW DAYS OF WINTER. IT'S BEEN SWITCHING BACK AND FORTH BUT THAT'S OK BECAUSE I KNOW THAT GOD IS IN CONTROL SO WHETHER IT'S COLD OR HOT WE CAN USE OUR HEAT OR AIR. OH HOW MUCH WE TAKE FOR GRANTED. THANK GOD THAT WE ARE BLESSED WITH SO MANY CONVENIENCES. GOD IS SO GOOD TO US. WELL GUESS I'LL CLOSE FOR THIS MORNING SO I CAN GO TO BED AND GET A FEW HOURS OF GOOD SLEEP. HOPE ALL IS WELL WITH YOU AND YOURS AND YOU ARE BEING BLESSED WITH GOD'S PEACE, JOY AND LOVE. LOTS OF HUGS AND MUCH LOVE TO YOU.
