I love to read anything and everything that brings me joy (mostly Christian). But I’d like to thank Daisy Levy (my college professor) she turned me on to poetry and short stories and open my eyes to the world outside of the Christian.
THE IRRESISTIBLE REVOLUTION “LIVING AS AN ORDINARY RADICAL” BY SHANE CLAIBORNE
RIGHTEOUS “DISPATCHES FROM EVANGELICAL YOUTH MOVEMENT” BY LAUREN SANDLER
"COWBOYS ARE MY WEAKNESS" PAM HOUSTON
"EVERY (YOUNG) MAN'S BATTLE"
I THINK THAT EVERY CHRISTIAN MAN, TEEN, BOY SHOULD READ THIS BOOK WITH A FRIEND OR SMALL GROUP IT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE.

OK…so where does one start? It’s not like many people will be reading all this stuff about me. Why do I say that? I don’t know many of you…and most likely I am not going to be reading your “about me”…but to all who do take the time to read this thank you.
I am not going to give you my sad story of how my dad left me when I was 2 and my mom had men in and out of our lives that did not care about anything but high and beating my mom and us kids…But life has had its ups and downs and like most of you it seems to be down a lot…I am a Christian…God has blessed me with so much, even knowing I have been unfaithful to Him most of my life, in the times when lives down it is difficult to trust in Him. But as you all know when live is up it doesn’t take much faith to trust Him. He has given an awesome wife (that has had to put up with a lot-sorry). I don’t always treat her like the queen that she is, but I do try. We are also blessed with two of the most handsome boys to walk this earth; I know they don’t get their looks from me…lol…I love my family and I feel blessed to have them (thank you God)! I am looking forward to see what God has for me (us) next…is it to be a stay-at-home-dad (I am doing that now and I love it), is it to going back to college (I would like to finish my Youth Ministry degree), is it being a Youth Pastor (I hope so…I miss seeing young people loving God), is it to start a ministry (it would be a youth night club/coffee house/book store) or will be with music (running sound and helping bands to start out), I don’t know but like I said I look forward to see what it is.
In His Grip,
Scott

In my ideal world, I would go to a Church, park, the streets, bar, coffee house (anywhere) to meet like-minded people that share both the love of others and God. We would talk shearing our struggles, concerns and passions. We would laugh and cry together. We would talk about our feelings on community and how to achieve it. We would try to figure out what it truly means to "Worship in Spirit and in Truth".
We would meet for a beer (as for me soda) on someone's back porch, laughing into the night and listening to music that speaks to our hearts. We would pray with each other as we journey through life. We would serve the community through involvement with a church or through living together and ministering to our neighbors. We would hang out with the people on the fringes of society and listen to their stories. We would love each other completely and because of, not in spite of, our humanity and brokenness. We would form a community in which we could say, "We'd rather be together and be in pain, than be apart and alone and be at peace.”
