The Chinese Restaurant
Posted On 02/01/2008 18:24:30
Well ... after working all day, Yvonne and I decided to go to our favorite restaurant ,,, The Kimball, Tennessee Chinese Buffet ... the food is always good there and Lou a young Chinese fellow, usually is our server ... He usually knows what we want to drink and seats us ... we pray and then go fill up our plates.

We were almost done and Lou brought us our "check" ... I told him that I didn't want it and he promptly put it in his pocket and walked into the kitchen ... Yvonne thought I had scared him to death and scolded me for doing it ... after awhile I went to Lou and told him that at this time, I wanted the ticket ... he laughed, handed me the ticket ... I payed it and we left ...

On the drive home, Yvonne asked me what our server's name was to which I replied ... "Lou".

She laughed and asked if his last name was "Costello"?

I told her "No!" ... that Lou was his last name and that his first name is "Skip" and his middle name is Tooma.

Yvonne said "His name is Skip Tooma Lou??????

I hope the swelling in my right eye will go down enough by Sunday so I can read my Bible

This is where I work now

Jewish Bell Ringer Helps In Kettle Campaign

It's the biggest Christian holiday of the year... But all day sunday a local man of Jewish faith rang in the season to raise money for the Salvation Army.

When Marty Libowski heard the Salvation Army stopped ringing their bells on Sundays, he stepped up to the plate.

For 11 hours Sunday, Libowski stood outside Cordova Mall, in Pensacola, ringing the bell raising money for the kettle campaign

Marty Libowski: "I am of the jewish faith and in our religion we call it a Mitsfa , that's a good deed that's giving back to the community."

Libowski raised a little over one thousand dollars for the Salvation Army kettle campaign.

Merry Christmas Everyone,

God Told Me

God Told Me

Matthew, Chapter Thirteen:

24Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is
likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:
25But while men slept,
his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.
26But when
the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.

27So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou
sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?
28He said unto them,
An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go
and gather them up?
29But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root
up also the wheat with them.
30Let both grow together until the harvest: and in
the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and
bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

The sad thing about this parable is that the word “among” means “every other one”. Since the field is the church, and the wheat are saved church members, then the tares are lost church members placed there by the enemy (satan).

If we are to take this parable literally, then there are as many lost church members as there are saved ones. There are as many lost pastors as there are saved ones. It is no wonder, then, that there is so much trouble in the church and with “Christianity” in general. I am not saying that those involved in these illustrations are “lost” themselves but that lost people are so influencing our churches and the dealings of the church with the things of God and His ministry.

Some time ago, I asked people to send me some illustrations of trouble they have had with church and will some who call themselves “Christians”. This is the first in a series of instances which will serve to encourage those who are going through similar circumstances.

II Cor 1:4Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. 5For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ. 6And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation.

Some time ago, a local pastor said to me that God had told him to do something. I replied to him that I thought that was wonderful and also asked him when he was going to do it.

He replied to me that he would “first have to ask some of his men if it was ok to do it.”

In the genera of the teenager of today: “No Duh!”

(This was the same pastor who told his congregation that “No one has the right to question” his messages from the pulpit because those messages come directly from God.)

If God tells you to do something, then do it! You do not need permission from anyone. Just make sure that it is God who is giving the command.

II Cor 3:1Do we begin again to commend ourselves? or need we, as some others, epistles of commendation to you, or letters of commendation from you? 2Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men: 3Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart. 4And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward: 5Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;

Please let me remind you that the words that I have given you are in rough draft form and will be retyped and corrected.

I am still asking those of you, who will, to write me and give me your own personal testimonies that you believe may help others who may be going through the same troubles. I promise not to use the names of persons or places which may point back to you.

God bless …

Bro. Ott

Marriage Advise by Kids
Posted On 07/10/2007 10:39:27
(written by kids)
HOW DO YOU DECIDE WHO TO MARRY?
You got to find somebody who likes the same stuff. Like, if you like sports, she should like it that you like sports, and she should keep the chips and dip coming.
-- Alan , age 10

No person really decides before they grow up who they're going to marry.  God decides it all
way before, and you get to find out later who you're stuck with.
-- Kristen , age 10

WHAT IS THE RIGHT AGE TO GET MARRIED?
Twenty-three is the best age because you know the person FOREVER by  then.
-- Camille , age 10

HOW CAN A STRANGER TELL IF TWO PEOPLE ARE MARRIED?
You might have to guess, based on whether they seem to be yelling at the same kids.
-- Derrick , age 8

WHAT DO YOU THINK YOUR MOM AND DAD HAVE IN COMMON?
Both don't want any more kids.
-- Lori , age 8

WHAT DO MOST PEOPLE DO ON A DATE?
Dates are for having fun, and people should use them to get to know each other. Even boys
have something to say if you listen long enough.
-- Lynnette, age 8 (isn't she a treasure)

On the first date, they just tell each other lies and that usually gets them interested enough
to go for a second date.
-- Martin , age 10

WHAT WOULD YOU DO ON A FIRST DATE THAT WAS TURNING SOUR?
I'd run home and play dead. The next day I would call all the newspapers and make sure they wrote about me in all the dead columns.
-- Craig , age 9

WHEN IS IT OKAY TO KISS SOMEONE?
When they're rich.
-- Pam , age 7

The law says you have to be eighteen, so I wouldn't want to mess with that.
- - Curt , age 7

The rule goes like this: If you kiss someone, then you should marry them and have kids with
them. It's the right thing to do.
-- Howard , age 8

IS IT BETTER TO BE SINGLE OR MARRIED?
It's better for girls to be single but not for boys. Boys need someone to clean up after them.
-- Anita , age 9  (bless the child)

HOW WOULD THE WORLD BE DIFFERENT IF PEOPLE DIDN'T GET MARRIED?
There sure would be a lot of kids to explain, wouldn't there?
-- Kelvin, age 8 ( just LOVE this one)

And the #1 Favorite is........

HOW WOULD YOU MAKE A MARRIAGE WORK?
Tell your wife that she looks pretty, even if she looks like a truck.
-- Ricky , age 10

Don't Mess With M.O.M.
Posted On 04/05/2007 13:39:39
For all those who think a spanking constitutes child abuse. And for all those kids who agree with them.
I love this one.
DON'T MESS WITH MOM
The Childs Comments and Thoughts

My son came home from school one day,
with a smirk upon his face.
He decided he was smart enough,
to put me in my place.

"Guess what I learned in Civics Two,
that's taught by Mr. Wright?
It's all about the laws today,
The 'Children's Bill of Rights.'

It says I need not clean my room,
don't have to cut my hair
No one can tell me what to think,
or speak, or what to wear.

I have freedom from religion,
and regardless what you say,
I don't have to bow my head,
and I sure don't have to pray.

I can wear earrings if I want,
and pierce my tongue & nose.
I can read & watch just what I like,
get tattoos from head to toe.

And if you ever spank me,
I'll charge you with a crime.
I'll back up all my charges,
with the marks on my behind.

Don't you ever touch me,
my body's only for my use,
not for your hugs and kisses,
that's just more child abuse.

Don't preach about your morals,
like your Mama did to you.
That's nothing more than mind control,
And it's illegal too!

Mom, I have these children's rights,
so you can't influence me,
or I'll call Children's Services Division,

better known as C.S.D."

Mom's Reply and Thoughts

Of course my first instinct was
to toss him out the door.
But the chance to teach him a lesson
made me think a little more.

I mulled it over carefully,
I couldn't let this go.
A smile crept upon my face,
he's messing with a pro.

Next day I took him shopping
at the local Goodwill Store..
I told him, "Pick out all you want,
there's shirts & pants galore.

I've called and checked with C.S.D.
who said they didn't care
if I bought you K-Mart shoes
instead of those Nike Airs.

I've canceled that appointment
to take your driver's test.
The C.S.D. is unconcerned
so I'll decide what's best."

I said "No time to stop and eat,
or pick up stuff to munch.
And tomorrow you can start to learn
to make your own sack lunch.

Just save the raging appetite,
and wait till dinner time.
We're having liver and onions,
a favorite dish of mine."

He asked "Can I please rent a movie,
to watch on my VCR?"
"Sorry, but I sold your TV,
for new tires on my car.

I also rented out your room,
you'll take the couch instead.
The C.S.D. requires
just a roof over your head.

Your clothing won't be trendy now,
I'll choose what we eat.
That allowance that you used to get,
will buy me something neat.

I'm selling off your jet ski,
dirt-bike & roller blades.
Check out the 'Parents Bill of Rights',
It's in effect today!

Hey hot shot, are you crying,
Why are you on your knees?
Are you asking God to help you out,
instead of C.S.D..?"

Send to all people that have teenagers or have already raised teenagers,
or have children who will soon be teenagers or those who will be parents someday

OR ANYONE WHO'D JUST GET A LAUGH ..I love this One!!!

Too Soon We Are Apart
Posted On 03/13/2007 11:40:20

So close but yet so far away

True friendship is an art

We were as one on yesterday

Too soon, we are apart.

Remem’bring smiles upon your face

Then tear drops touched my heart

For all those days, tho’ full of grace

Too soon we are apart

Whatever happened to our friends?

We thought we’d never part

Forgotten faces without end

Too soon we are apart

Of all my days past, one by one

When carried on life’s cart

In days of sadness or in fun

I’m glad you were a part
