UNFAILING LOVE!

MY ROCK
Today my heart is heavy and I really did not feel like writing.....but the Lord gave me this scripture to write.....as my prayer! May it bless someone out there, also, and may you find solace in it. He hears our crys and sees our every tear.
HE CARES FOR YOU!
Hear my cry, O God;
     listen to my prayer.
From the ends of the earth I call to you,
I call as my heart grows faint;
lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
For you have been my refuge,
a strong tower against the foe.
I long to dwell in your tent forever
and take refuge in the shelter of your wings.
For you have heard my vows, O God;
you have given me the heritage of those who fear
your name.
Increase the days of the king's life,
his years for many generations.
May he be enthroned in God's presence forever

May God grant you and yours the desires of your hearts. I am very tired..... my body, my mind, my entire being is very , very weary today. I pray that God will give me some much needed physical, spiritual, and mental rest. He is my Rock, my fortress and in Him I do rely.....for my complete rest and peace comes from Him on high. 
They cried out to the Lord in their trouble,
and he delivered them from their distress.
He led them by a straight way
to a city where they could settle
Let them give thanks to the Lord
for his unfailing love
and his wonderful deeds for men,
for he satisfies the thirsty

If you are needing a touch from God today....know that He is there for you.  He will never leave you nor forsake you....As I read over these scriptures I realized these words are definitely for me this day and has certainly met my spiritual need and has spoken to me through His word in letting me know that He has heard my prayers and I can rest in Him knowing that "He Cares for Me".

BEAUTIFUL STRAND OF PEARLS

The cheerful little girl with bouncy golden curls was almost five. Waiting with her mother at the checkout stand, she saw them, a circle of glistening white pearls in a pink foil box.
"Oh mommy please, Mommy. Can I have them? Please, Mommy, please?" 
    
Quickly the mother checked the back of the little foil box and then looked back into the pleading blue eyes of her little girl's upturned face.

"A dollar ninety-five. That's almost $2.00. If you really want them, I'll think of some extra chores for you and in no time you can save enough money to buy them for yourself. Your birthday's only a week away and you might get another crisp dollar bill from Grandma."

As soon as Jenny got home, she emptied her penny bank and counted out 17 pennies. After dinner, she did more than her share of chores and she went to the neighbor and asked Mrs. McJames if she could pick dandelions for ten cents. On her birthday, Grandma did give her
another new dollar bill and at last she had enough money to buy the necklace. Jenny loved her pearls. They made her feel dressed up and grown up. She wore them everywhere, Sunday
school, kindergarten, even to bed. The only time she took them off was when she went swimming or had a bubble bath. Mother said if they got wet, they might turn her neck
green.

Jenny had a very loving daddy and ever y night when she was ready for bed, he would stop whatever he was doing and come upstairs to read her a story.  One night as he finished the story, he asked Jenny ,  "Do you love me?"  "Oh yes, daddy. You know that I love you."
"Then give me your pearls."  "Oh, daddy, not my pearls. But you can have Princess,
the white horse from my collection, the one with the pink tail. Remember, daddy? The one you gave me. She's my very favorite."  "That's okay, Honey, daddy loves you. Good night." And he brushed her cheek with a kiss.

About a week later, after the story time, Jenny's daddy asked again, "Do you love me?"
"Daddy, you know I love you."  "Then give me your pearls."  "Oh Daddy, not my pearls. But you can have my baby doll.  The brand new one I got for my birthday. She is beautiful and you can have the yellow blanket that matches her sleeper."  "That's okay. Sleep well. God bless you, little one.  Daddy loves you."  And as always, he brushed her cheek with a gentle
kiss.

A few nights later when her daddy came in, Jenny was sitting on her bed with her legs crossed Indian style.   As he came close, he noticed her chin was trembling and one silent tear rolled down her cheek.  "What is it, Jenny? What's the matter?"  Jenny didn't say anything but lifted her little hand up to her daddy. And when she opened it, there was her little pearl necklace. With a little quiver, she finally said,  "Here, daddy; this is for you."  With tears gathering in his own eyes, Jenny's daddy reached out with one hand to take the dime store necklace, and with the other hand he reached into his pocket and pulled out a blue velvet case with a strand of genuine pearls and gave them to Jenny.  He had them all the time. He was just waiting for her to give up the dime-store stuff so he could give her the genuine
treasure. So it is, with our Heavenly Father. He is waiting for us to give up the cheap things in
our lives so that he can give us beautiful treasures.  Isn't God good? Are you holding onto things that God wants You to let go of? Are you holding on to harmful or unnecessary
partners, relationships, habits and activities that you have come so attached to that it seems
impossible to let go? Sometimes it is so hard to see what is in the other hand but do believe this one thing:   God will never take away something without giving you
something better in its place.

A PENNY FOR YOUR THOUGHT!

 You always hear the usual stories of
pennies on the
sidewalk being good luck, gifts from angels, etc.
This is the first time I've
ever heard this twist on the story. Gives you
something to think about.
  
Several years ago, a friend of mine and her husband
were invited to
spend the weekend at the husband's employer's home.
My friend, Arlene,
was nervous about the weekend. The boss was very
wealthy, with a fine
home on the waterway, and cars costing more than her
house. 
   The first day and evening went well, and Arlene
was delighted to
have this rare glimpse into how the very wealthy
live. The husband's
employer was quite generous as a host, and took them
to the finest
restaurants. Arlene knew she would never have the
opportunity to indulge in
this kind of extravagance again, so was enjoying
herself immensely. 

As the three of them were about to enter an
exclusive restaurant that
evening, the boss was walking slightly ahead of
Arlene and her
husband. He stopped suddenly, looking down on the
pavement for a long, silent
moment.
Arlene wondered if she was supposed to pass him.
There was nothing on
the ground except a single darkened penny that
someone had dropped,
and a few cigarette butts Still silent, the man
reached down and picked
up the penny. 
He held it up and smiled, then put it in his pocket
as if he had
found a great treasure. How absurd! What need did
this man have for a
single penny? Why would he even take the time to stop
and pick it up? 
Throughout dinner, the entire scene nagged at her.
Finally, she could
stand it no longer. She casually mentioned that her
daughter once had
a coin collection, and asked if the penny he had
found had been of some
value. 

 A smile crept across the man's face as he reached
into his pocket for
the penny and held it out for her to see. She had
seen many pennies
before! What was the point of this? 

 "Look at it." He said. "Read what it says." She read
the words "
United States of America "
"No, not that; read further." 
"One cent?" "No, keep reading." 
"In God we Trust?" "Yes!" "And?" 
"And if I trust in God, the name of God is holy,
even on a coin.
Whenever I find a coin I see that inscription. It is
written on every
single United States coin, but we never seem to
notice it! God drops a
message right in front of me telling me to trust Him?
Who am I to pass it
by? When I see a coin, I pray, I stop to see if my
trust IS in God at
that moment. I pick the coin up as a response to God;
that I do trust in
Him. For a short time, at least, I cherish it as if
it were gold. I
think it is God's way of starting a conversation with
me. Lucky for me, God
is patient and pennies are plentiful! 

When I was out shopping today, I found a penny on
the sidewalk. I
stopped and picked it up, and realized that I had
been worrying and
fretting in my mind about things I cannot change. I
read the words, "In God
We Trust," and had to laugh. Yes, God, I get the
message.

ARE YOU AN ANGEL?

Psalm 55:22

'Friends are God's way of taking care of us.'


This was written by a Metro Denver Hospice Physician:


I was driving home from a meeting this evening about 5, stuck in traffic on Colorado Blvd. , and the car started to choke and sputter and die - I barely managed to coast, into a gas station, glad only that I would not be blocking traffic and would have a somewhat warm spot to wait for the tow truck. It wouldn't even turn over. Before I could make the call, I saw a woman walking out of the 'quickie mart' building, and it looked like she slipped on some ice and fell into a gas pump, so I got out to see if she was okay.

When I got there, it looked more like she had been overcome by sobs than that she had fallen; she was a young woman who looked really haggard with dark circles under her eyes. She dropped something as I helped her up, and I picked it up to give it to her. It was a nickel.
 
At that moment, everything came into focus for me: the crying woman, the ancient Suburban crammed full of stuff with 3 kids in the back (1 in a car seat), and the gas pump reading $4.95.
 
I asked her if she was okay and if she needed help, and she just kept saying 'don't want my kids to see me crying,' so we stood on the other side of the pump from her car. She said she was driving to California and that things were very hard for her right now. So I asked, 'And youwere praying?' That made her back a way from me a little, but I assured her I was not a crazy person and said, 'He heard you, and He sent me.'

I took out my card and swiped it through the card reader on the pump so she could fill up her car completely, and while it was fueling, walked to the next door McDonald's and bought 2 big bags of food, some gift certificates for more, and a big cup of coffee. She gave the food to the kids in the car, who attacked it like wolves, and we stood by the pump eating fries and talking a little.
 
She told me her name, and that she lived in Kansas City . Her boyfriend left 2 months ago and she had not been able to make ends meet. She knew she wouldn't have money to pay rent Jan 1, and finally in desperation had finally called her parents, with whom she had not spoken in about 5 years. They lived in California and said she could come live with them and try to get on her feet there.
 
So she packed up everything she owned in the car. She told the kids they were going to California for Christmas, but not that they were going to live there.
 
I gave her my gloves, a little hug and said a quick prayer with her for safety on the road. As I was walking over to my car, she said, 'So, are you like an angel or something?'

This definitely made me cry. I said, 'Sweetie, at this time of year angels are really busy, so sometimes God uses regular people.' 

It was so incredible to be a part of someone else's miracle. And of course, you guessed it, when I got in my car it started right away and got me home with no problem. I'll put it in the shop tomorrow to check, but I suspect the mechanic won't find anything wrong.

Sometimes the angels fly close enough to you that you can hear the flutter of their wings...

Psalms 55:22 'Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and He shall sustain thee. He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.'

Here is the prayer:

'Father, I ask You to bless my children, grandchildren, relatives and all my jcfaith friends reading this right now. Show them a new revelation of your love and power. Holy Spirit, I ask You to minister to their spirit this very moment. Where there is pain, give them Your peace and mercy. Where there is self doubt, release a renewed confidence through Your grace, In Jesus' precious name. Amen.' 

When Satan is knocking at your door, simply say, 'Jesus, could You please get that for me?'   And He will!   Let Him handle all the difficult things that might come your way.

A SNAKE IN THE HOUSE

             SOMETHING FUNNY

 Today seems to be a sad day at my house....Why? I really do not know, but I am trying to cheer myself up. The bible tells us that Laughter is good for the soul. When Abraham heard that Sarah had conceived and would have a child, he laughed. It seemed impossible for that to be, but God always brings something our way to make a smile come across our face. He delights in our pleasures and happiness. So I will take it "One Day At A Time". Some days are better than others, but one thing I can say that never changes is my Faith, Hope and Joy I find in serving Christ as my Lord and Savior.

If anyone out there knows something funny or an event in their life that happens to be rib tickling funny let me hear......I need some laughter today....As my fish named "Angel" doesn't talk very much, I spend most of my time with no one to talk to. I am not much on talking to myself, if I were I would make myself laugh.

What makes me really laugh is when I think of some events in my life that at that time was NOT funny but now it is...Like the time I house sit for my daughter....The grand-kids were small and loved to put rubber frogs, snakes, bugs, spiders and such in my bed and other places to scare me when I saw them, as I have a fear of all those things. I was cleaning up or picking up the boys room when I looked down and saw a rubber snake on the floor at the crack where the bedroom door opened up..... I reached down to pick it up so I could put it in the toy box. As I slowly reached down, (remember, I am scared of any snake, rubber or not) that snake happened to be REAL, it snapped at me and I started running out of the house, then I thought, this is silly. Get in there and get that thing out of the house. Well, I guess when I screamed I must have paralized that snake because it was in the same place as when I ran out. I got a jar and put over that big snake "WOW", not really, it was small, I mean really small. After putting holes in the lid so it could breathe, (I wanted that thing alive when the kids returned home) I put it up so the kids would believe me. Well when they did come home that was the joke of the family and still we all get a big laugh out of that HUGE snake. Guess what!!! I found my laughter for today. Thanks for letting me share this. THE VISITOR

Ruth went to her mail box and there was only one letter.
She picked it up and looked at it before opening, but then she looked at the envelope again.
There was no stamp, no  postmark, only her name and address.
She read the letter:

Dear Ruth:

I am going to be in your neighborhood Saturday and would like to stop in for a visit.            &nb sp;   

Love Always,

Jesus

Her hands were shaking as she placed the letter on the table.
"Why would the Lord want to visit me?
I'm nobody special.
I don't have anything to offer."
With that thought, Ruth remembered her empty kitchen cabinets.
"Oh my goodness, I really don't have anything to offer.
I'll have to run down to the store and buy something for dinner."

She reached for her purse and counted out its contents.
Five dollars and forty cents.  "Well, I can get some bread and cold cuts, at least.."   She threw on her coat and hurried out the door.   A loaf of French bread, a  half-pound of sliced turkey, and a carton of  milk...leaving Ruth with a grand total of twelve cents to last her until Monday. Nonetheless she felt good as she headed home, her meager offerings tucked under her arm.

"Hey lady, can you help us, lady?"
Ruth was so absorbed in her dinner plans, she hadn't even noticed two figures huddled in the alleyway.  A man and a woman, both of  them dressed in little more than rags."Look lady, I ain't got a job, ya know, and my wife and I have been living out here on the
street, and, well, now it's getting cold and we're getting kinda hungry and, well, if you could help us Lady, we'd really appreciate it."

Ruth looked at them both.  They were dirty, they smelled bad and frankly, she was certain that they could get some kind of work if they really wanted to.   "Sir, I'd like to help you, but I'm a poor woman myself.  All I have is a few cold cuts and some bread, and I'm having an important guest for dinner tonight and I was planning on serving that to Him."

"Yeah, well, okay lady,  I understand.  Thanks anyway."   The man put his arm around the woman's shoulders, turned and headed back into the alley.   As she watched them leave, Ruth felt a familiar twinge in her heart.  "Sir, wait !"  The couple stopped and turned as she ran down the alley after them."Look, why don't you take this food.  I'll figure out something else to serve my guest."  She handed the man her grocery bag.  "Thank you lady. Thank you very much!"  "Yes, thank you!"  It was the man's wife, and Ruth could see now that she was shivering.  "You know, I've got another coat at home. Here, why don't you take this one."  Ruth unbuttoned her jacket and slipped it over the woman's shoulders.  Then smiling, she turned and  walked back to the street...without her coat and with nothing to serve her guest.  "Thank you lady!  Thank you very much!"

Ruth was chilled by the time she reached her front door and worried also.  The Lord was coming to visit her and she didn't have anything to offer Him.  She fumbled through her purse for the door key.  But as she did, she noticed another envelope in her mailbox.

"That's odd. The  mailman doesn't usually come twice in one day."

 
Dear Ruth:

 It was so good to see you again.
Thank you for the lovely meal.
And thank you, too, for the  beautiful coat.

The air was still cold, but even without her coat,  Ruth no longer noticed.

GOD DOESN'T CALL THE QUALIFIED, HE QUALIFIES THE CALLED

"THE ANT AND THE CONTACT LENS"

A True Story....

Brenda was almost halfway to the top of the tremendous granite cliff. She was standing on a ledge where she was taking a breather during this, her first rock climb. As she rested there, the safety rope snapped against her eye and knocked out her contact lens. "Great", she thought. "Here I am on a rock ledge, hundreds of feet from the bottom and hundreds of feet to the top of this cliff, and now my sight is blurry." She looked and looked, hoping that somehow it had landed on the ledge. But it just wasn't there. She felt the panic rising in her, so she began praying. She prayed for calm, and she prayed that she may find her contact lens. When she got to the top, her friend examined her eye and her clothing for the lens, but it was not to be found... Although she was calm now that she had reached the top, she was saddened because she could not clearly see across the range of mountains. She thought of the bible verse..."The eyes of the Lord runs to and fro throughout the whole earth." She thought, "Lord, You can see all these mountains. You know every stone and leaf, and You know exactly where my contact lens is. Please help me." ? Later, when they had hiked down the trail to the bottom of the cliff they met another party of climbers just starting up the face of the cliff. One of them shouted out, "Hey, you guys! Anybody lose a contact lens?" Well, that would be startling enough, but you know why the climber saw it? An ant was moving slowly across a twig on the face of a rock, carrying it! The story doesn't end there. Brenda's father is a cartoonist. When she told him the incredible story of the ant, the prayer, and the contact lens, he drew a cartoon of an ant lugging that contact lens with the caption, "Lord, I don't know why You want me to carry this thing. I can't eat it, and it's awfully heavy. But if this is what You want me to do, I'll carry it for You." I think it would do all of us some good to say...."God I don't know why you want me to carry this load? I can't see any good in it and it's awfully heavy. But if you want me to carry it, I will!" God doesn't call the qualified, He qualifies the called. Yes, I do love GOD. He is my source of existence and my Savior. He keeps me functioning each and every day. Without Him, I am nothing, but with Him....I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. (Phil. 4:13) Amen!! We may be going through something in our life right now. We even may think the load is too heavy to carry and might even ask God why must we carry this load...thinking we cannot make it. The word tells us it's just for a season, there is an end, and what I love most is that it also says weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning......Psalms 30:5 (KJV) Praise God "JOY COMES IN THE MORNING" Jesus said, "Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours."....Mark 11:24 "God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work."....2 Corinthians 9:8 "Just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows."...2 Corinthians 1:5

HEAVEN'S VERY SPECIAL CHILD

 BEAUTIFUL SYMBOL OF INNOCENCE


     We were on our way to visit an institution in 1954 with our three daughters:  Mary, twelve, Joan, nine, and Ruth, eighteen months old.  Because of little Ruth, handicapped since birth, we were making this sad and silent trip.  We had been advised to place her in a special home.  "It will be less of a burden,"  "Ruth will be better off with children like herself,"  "Your other children will have a home free of the care of a disabled person."
  To break the silence, I flipped on the car radio and heard the voice of a former classmate.  I remembered him as a boy without legs.  He was now president of an organization employing persons who are disabled.
He told of his childhood and of a conversation with his mother.  "When it was time for another handicapped child to be born," his mother explained, "the Lord and his counselors held a meeting to decide where he should be sent...where there would be a family to love him.  Well, our family was chosen."
  At this, my wife Edna leaned over and turned off the radio,  her eyes shining with un-shed tears.  "Let's go home," she said.  
  I touched Ruth's tiny face.  She looked like a beautiful symbol of innocence.  I knew at that moment Ruth was given to us for a purpose.  How miraculous it was that the voice of a friend, with whom I'd had no contact for twenty years, should that day speak to me.  Mere coincidence?  Or was it God's unseen hand helping us hold on to a little girl who would enrich our lives immeasurably in the years that followed?
     That night, Edna awoke at three o'clock in the morning with thoughts that demanded to be written.  A pad was on the night table, and in the morning we pieced her notes together into the poem:

HEAVEN'S VERY SPECIAL CHILD
A meeting was held quite far from Earth;
 "It's time again for another birth."
Said the angels to the Lord above,
"This special child will need much love.
 Her progress may seem very slow.
Accomplishments she may not show,
And she'll require extra care
From the folks she meets way down there.
She may not run or laugh or play,
Her thoughts may seem quite far away.
In many ways she won't adapt,
And she'll be known as handicapped.
So let's be careful where she's sent
We want her life to be content.
Please, Lord, find the parents who
Will do a special job for you.
They will not realize right away
The leading role they're asked to play,
But with this child sent from above
Come stronger faith and richer love.
And soon they'll know the privilege given
In caring for this gift from heaven.
Their precious charge, so meek and mild,
Is "HEAVEN'S VERY SPECIAL CHILD."

JUST LIKE ME

I went to my dad, and I said to him,
There's a new kid who's come to my school.
He's different from me and he isn't too cool.
No, he's nothing at all like me, like me,

He runs in a funnyish jerkyish way.
And he never comes first in a race.
Sometimes he forgets which way is first base,
And he's nothing at all like me, like me.

He studies all day in a separate class,
And they say that it's called Special Ed.
And sometimes I don't understand what he's said,
And he's nothing at all like me, like me,

His face looks kind of different from mine,
And his talking is sometimes slow.
And it makes me feel funny and there's one    
thing I know,
He is not at all like me, like me,
No, he's nothing at all like me!

And my father said, "Son, I want you to think
When you meet someone different and new
That he may seem a little bit strange, it's true,
But he's not very different from you, from you,
No, he's not very different from you."

Well I guess, I admitted, I've looked at his face;
When he's left out of games, he feels bad.
And when other kids tease him, I can he's so sad

I guess that's not so different from me, from me,
No, that's not very different from me.            &nb sp;       
And when we're in Music , he sure loves to sing.           
And he sings just like me, right out loud.            &nb sp;                    

When he gets his report card, I can tell he feels proud.

And that's not very different from me, from me,

And I know in the lunchroom he has lots of fun;
He loves hot dogs and ice cream and fries.
And he hates to eat spinach and that's not a surprise,
Cause that's not very different from me, from me,

And he's always so friendly, he always says hi,
And he waves and he calls out my name.
And he'd like to be friends and get into a game,
Which is not very different from me, from me,
No, I guess that's not different from me.

And his folks really love him, I saw them at school,

Well, I've really been thinking a lot.
Some things are different...and some things are not
But mostly he's really like me, like me,

       MOTHER'S OF DISABLED CHILDREN

     Most women become mothers by accident, some by choice, a few by social pressures and a couple by habit.
    
This year, nearly one hundred thousand women will become mothers of handicapped children.  Did you ever wonder how these mothers of handicapped children are chosen?
     Somehow visualize God hovering over Earth selecting his instruments for propagation with great care and deliberation.  As he observes, he instructs his angels to make notes in a giant ledger.
     "Armstrong, Beth:  son, patron saint, Matthew.  Forest, Marjorie: daughter, patron saint, Cecelia.
     "Rutledge, Carrie:  twins, patron saint....give her Gerard.  He's used profanity."
     Finally he passes a name to an angel and smiles.  "Give her a blind child."
     The angel is curious.  "Why this one, God?  She's so happy."
     "Exactly," says God.  "Could I give a child with a handicap to a mother who does not know laughter?  That would be cruel."
     "But has she patience?"  asks the angel.
     "I don't want her to have too much patience, or she will drown in a sea of self-pity and despair.  Once the shock and resentment wears off, she'll handle it."
     "But Lord, I don't think she even believes in you."
     God smiles,  "No matter, I can fix that.  The one is perfect.  She has just enough selfishness."
     The angel gasps.  "Selfishness?  Is that a virtue?"
     God nods.  "If she can't separate herself from the child occasionally, she'll never survive.  Yes, here is a woman whom I will bless with a child less than perfect.  She doesn't realize it yet, but she is to be envied.  She will never take for granted a spoken word.  She will never consider a step ordinary.  When her child says 'Momma' for the first time, she will be present at a miracle and know it!  When she describes a tree or a sunset to her blind child, she will see it as few people ever see my creations.
     "I will permit her to see clearly the things I see -- ignorrance, cruelty, prejudice -- and allow her to rise above them..  She will never be alone.  I will be at her side every minute of every day of her life, because she is doing my work as surely as she is here by my side."
     "And what about her patron saint?" asks the angel, pen poised in midair.
     God smiles.  "A mirror will suffice."

God Bless All the Mothers who have been chosen to raise one of "HEAVEN'S VERY SPECIAL CHILDREN". 
      My mother was one of those special women who God saw fit to bless with a Child that had special needs.  When I was 10 years of age....she gave birth to my brother...Gordon Bennett Moon....who was born with "Down Syndrome".  I had the special privilege of loving and caring for my brother.  Never have I witnessed such love as he has.   Yes, he is still alive today...God has granted him long life....for he is now 57 years of age and still full of love for everyone he meets.  The doctor's told my mother he would not live past 13....well as you can see....he has passed his years of life expectancy and still being God's Special
Angel....here on earth.   And one thing I know he has a special relationship with God.  He speaks all the time of going home to see Jesus and his sweet "Mama".  God may see fit to call him home soon....but I know one thing....I will live every day....thanking my God that I have Gordon as my very special brother...whom I love very dearly and who has enriched my life so very much and has shown me what loving God really means.....

WHO STARTED CHRISTMAS??

CHRISTMAS SHOPPING
 
A woman was Christmas shopping with her two children.
After many hours of walking down row after row of toys
and after hours of hearing both her children asking
for everything they saw on those many shelves, she
finally made  it to the store elevator with her two
children in hand.

She was feeling what so many of us feel during the
holiday season time of  the year, getting that perfect
gift for every single person on our shopping list,
overwhelming pressure to go to every party, every
housewarming, taste all the holiday food and treats,
making sure we don't forget anyone on our card list,
and the pressure of making sure we respond to everyone
who sent us a card.

Finally the elevator doors opened revealing a crowd in
the car.  She pushed her way in and dragged her two
kids and all her bags of stuff in with her.  As the
doors closed she couldn't take it anymore and started
out, "Whoever started this whole Christmas thing
should be found, strung up, and shot."

From the back of the car, a quiet calm voice
responded, "Don't worry, we've already crucified Him."

The rest of the trip down was so quiet you could have
heard a pin drop. 

We must always remember the reason for the season.
