GOD'S CAKE
Posted On 03/07/2007 11:22:27

Sometimes we wonder, "What did I do to deserve this?" or "Why did God have to do this to me?" Here is a wonderful explanation! A daughter is telling her Mother how everything is going wrong, she's failing algebra, her boyfriend broke up with her and her best friend is moving away.

Meanwhile, her Mother is baking a cake and asks her daughter if she would like a snack, and the daughter says, "Absolutely Mom, I love your cake"

"Here, have some cooking oil," her Mother offers. "Yuck" says her daughter.

"How about a couple raw eggs?" "Gross, Mom!"

"Would you like some flour then? Or maybe baking soda?" "Mom, those are all yucky!"

To which the mother replies: "Yes, all those things seem bad all by themselves. But when they are put together in the right way, they make a wonderfully delicious cake!

God works the same way. Many times we wonder why He would let us go through such bad and difficult times. But God knows that when He puts these things all in His order, they always work for good! We just have to trust Him and, eventually, they will all make something wonderful!

God is crazy about you. He sends you flowers every spring and a sunrise every morning.

Whenever you want to talk, He'll listen. He can live anywhere in the universe, and He chose your heart.

If you like this, send this on to the people you really care about. I did.

Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here we might as well dance.

Did you Pray....
Posted On 03/06/2007 16:37:45
It was difficult for me to decide who I thought would do this because many people claim to pray, but not everyone does. I hope I chose the right twelve. Please send this back to me. (You'll see why.) May everyone who receives this message be blessed. REMEMBER to say a prayer before you read the poem. That's all you have to do. There is nothing attached. Just send this to twelve people. Prayer is one of the best free gifts we receive. There is no cost but a lot of reward.
(Did you pray?) Make sure you pray, and pray believing that God will answer.
This is your last opportunity before reading the poem.
May today be all that you need it to be today. May the peace of God and the freshness of the Holy Spirit rest in your thoughts, rule in your dreams tonight and conquer all your fears. May God manifest himself today in ways that you have never experienced. May your joys be fulfilled, your dreams be closer and your prayers be answered. I pray that faith enters a new height for you, I pray that your territory is enlarged and I pray that you step into your destiny within the ministry.
I pray for peace, health, happiness and true and undying love for God.
Now, send this to 12 people within the next 5 minutes and remember to Send this back...I count as 1...you'll see why.
Suggestion: copy and paste rather than forward

A Friend
Posted On 03/05/2007 16:12:43

A friend will always...

Cheer you up,
When you're blue

Listen to all your woes
Help you out with your foes

Encourage you to succeed
Know when you are in need

Remember you on special days
Help you out in so many ways

Tell you how things really are
Remember you from afar

Give you what support they can
Be your true and logal fan

Love you in good times or bad
Build you up when you're sad

Help you when you've done it wrong
Remind you that you do belong

Give you a pat on the back
Tell you when you've got the knack

Hug you just to console
Remind you that you have a goal

Celebrate your victories
Pick you up from your knees

Hurt with you when you're down
And Try to wipe away your frown

ONE WORD SERMON

One Word Sermon

  A minister decided to do something a little different one Sunday
morning. He said "Today, in church, I am going to say a single word and you are going to help me preach. Whatever single  word I say, I want you  to sing whatever hymn that comes to your mind."
The pastor shouted out  "CROSS." Immediately the  congregation started singing in unison, "THE OLD RUGGED CROSS"
  The pastor hollered out  "GRACE" The congregation began to sing
"AMAZING GRACE, how sweet  the sound."
  The pastor said "POWER." The congregation sang "THERE IS POWER IN  THE BLOOD"
  The Pastor said "SEX." The congregation  fell into total silence.
Everyone was in shock. They all nervously  began to look around at each other afraid to say  anything.
  Then all of a sudden, way  from in the back of the church, a little old
  87 year old grandmother  stood up and began to sing "PRECIOUS
MEMORIES."

The Price Of Children

The Price of Children
This is too good not to pass on to all. Something positive for a change. I have repeatedly seen the breakdown of the cost of raising a child, but this is the first time I have seen the rewards listed this way.
The government recently calculated the cost of raising a child from birth to 18 and came up with $160,140 for a middle income family. Talk about sticker shock! That doesn't even touch college tuition.
But $160,140 isn't so bad if you break it down. It translates into:
* $8,896.66 a year,
* $741.38 a month, or
* $171.08 a week.
* That's a mere $24.24 a day!
* Just over a dollar an hour.
Still, you might think the best financial advice is don't have children if you want to be "rich."  Actually, it is just the opposite. What do you get for your $160,140?
* Naming rights. First, middle, and last!
* Glimpses of God every day.
* Giggles under the covers every night.
* More love than your heart can hold.
* Butterfly kisses and Velcro hugs.
* Endless wonder over rocks, ants, clouds, and warm cookies.
* A hand to hold, usually covered with jelly or chocolate.
* A partner for blowing bubbles, flying kites
* Someone to laugh yourself silly with, no matter what the boss said or how your stocks performed that day.
For $160,140, you never have to grow up. You get to:
* finger-paint,
* carve pumpkins,
* play hide-and-seek,
* catch lightning bugs, and
* never stop believing in Santa Claus.
You have an excuse to:
* keep reading the Adventures of Piglet and Pooh,
* watching Saturday morning cartoons,
* going to Disney movies, and
* Wishing on stars.
* You get to frame rainbows, hearts, and flowers under refrigerator magnets and collect spray painted noodle wreaths for Christmas, hand prints set in clay or Mother's Day, and cards with backward letters for Father's Day.
For $160,140, there is no greater bang for your buck. You get to be a hero just for:
* retrieving a Frisbee off the garage roof,
* taking the training wheels off a bike,
* removing a splinter,
* filling a wading pool,
* coaxing a wad of gum out of bangs, and coaching a baseball team that never wins but always gets treated to ice cream regardless.
You get a front row seat to history to witness the:
* first step,
* first word,
* first bra,
* first date, and
* First time behind the wheel.
You get to be immortal. You get another branch added to your family tree, and if you're lucky, a long list of limbs in your obituary called grandchildren and great grandchildren. You get an education in psychology, nursing, criminal justice, communications, and human sexuality that no college can match.
In the eyes of a child, you rank right up there under God. You have all the power to heal a boo-boo, scare away the monsters under the bed, patch a broken heart, police a slumber party, ground them forever, and love them without limits.  So, one day they will, like you, love without counting the cost. That is quite a deal for the price!
Love & enjoy your children & grandchildren!

Life is a gift
Posted On 03/04/2007 11:07:08

There was a blind girl who  hated herself just because she was blind. She
hated everyone, except her  loving boyfriend. He was always there for her.  She said that if she could  only see the world, she would marry her  boyfriend.

One day, someone donated a  pair of eyes to her and then she could see
everything . Including  her boyfriend.   Her boyfriend asked her,  "Now that you can see the world, will you marry me?" The  girl was shocked when she saw that her boyfriend was blind, too, and  refused to marry him.

Her boyfriend walked away in  tears and later wrote a letter to her saying,Just  take good care of my eyes, dear."

This  is how the human brain changes when our status changes. Only few
remember what life was before and who's always been there, even in the
most painful situations.

Life is a gift.  Today, before you think of saying an unkind word, think of someone who  can't speak. Before you complain about the taste of your food, think  of someone who has nothing to eat. Before you complain about your  husband or wife, think of someone who's crying out to God for a  companion.

Today, before you  complain about life, think of someone who went too early to heaven. Before you complain about your children, think of someone who  desires children but they're barren.

Before you argue about your  dirty house because someone didn't clean or
sweep, think of the people  who are living in the streets. Before whining about the distance you  drive, think of someone who walks the same distance with their feet,  and, when you are tired and complain about your job, think of the  unemployed, the disabled and those who wished they
had your  job.

But, before you think of  pointing the finger or condemning another,
remember that not one of us  is without sin, and we all answer to one Maker. And, when depressing  thoughts seem to get you down, put a smile on your  face and thank God  you're alive and still around.

Life is a gift . Live it, enjoy it,  celebrate it, and fulfill  it.

People will  forget what you said...
People will forget what you  did...
But people will never forget  how you made them feel.

In the way of the Cross
Posted On 03/01/2007 16:11:47

Almighty God, whose most dear Son went not up to joy but first he suffered pain, and entered not into glory before he was crucified: Mercifully grant that we, walking in the way of the cross, may find it none other than the way of life and peace; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord. Amen.
