If Jesus came to visit would you have to change your clothes before you let Him in? Or hide some magazines, and put the Bibles where they'd been? Would you hide your worldly music and put some hymn books out? Could you let Jesus walk right in, or would you rush about? And I wonder if the Saviour spent a day or two with you, would you go right on doing, the things you always do? Would you go right on saying, the things you always say? Or would life for you continue as it does from day to day? Would you take Jesus with you everywhere you go? Or would you maybe change your plans for just a day or so? Would you be glad to have Him meet your closest friends? Or would you hope they stay away until His visit ends? Would you be glad to have Him stay forever on and on? Or would you sigh with great relief when He at last was gone? It might be interesting to know, the things that you would do, If Jesus came in person, to spend some time with you.
GROCERY LIST
Louise Redden, a poorly dressed lady with a look of defeat on her face, walked into a grocery store. She approached the owner of the store in a most humble manne r and asked if he would let her charge a few groceries.
She softly explained that her husband was very ill and unable to work, they had seven children and they needed food.
John Longhouse, the grocer, scoffed at her and requested that she leave his store at once.
Visualizing the family needs, she said: "Please, sir! I will bring you the money just as soon as I can."
John told her he could not give her credit, since she did not have a charge account at his store.
Standing beside the counter was a customer who overheard the conversation between the two. The customer walked forward and told the grocer that he would stand good for whatever she needed for her family. The grocer said in a very reluctant voice, "Do you have a grocery list?"
Louise replied, "Yes sir." "O.K" he said, "put your grocery list on the scales and whatever your grocery list weighs, I will give you that amount in groceries."
Louise, hesitated a moment with a bowed head, then she reached into her purse and took out a piece of paper and! scribbled something on it. She then laid the piece of paper on the scale carefully with her head still bowed.
The eyes of the grocer and the customer showed amazement when the scales went down and stayed down.
The grocer, staring at the scales, turned slowly to the customer and said begrudgingly, "I can't believe it."
The customer smiled and the grocer started putting t he groceries on the other side of the scales. The scale did not balance so he continued to put more and more groceries on them until the scales would hold no more.
The grocer stood there in utter disgust. Finally, he grabbed the piece of paper from the scales and looked at it with greater amazement. It was not a grocery list, it was a prayer, which said: "Dear Lord, you know my needs and I am leaving this in your hands."
The grocer gave her the groceries that he had gathered and stood in stunned silence.
Louise thanked him and left the store. The other customer handed a fifty-dollar bill to the grocer and said, "It was worth every penny of it. Only God Knows how much a prayer weighs."
THE POWER OF PRAYER: When you receive this, say a prayer. That's all you have to do.
Just stop right now, and say a prayer of thanks for your own good fortune. Then please send this to all your friends and relatives.
I believe if you will send this testimony out with prayer in faith, you will receive what you need God to do in your and your families' life
So dear heart, trust God to heal the sick, provide food for the hungry,

Hi everyone! At the momment I'm feeling very discouraged and disapointed. I've been praying about this for awhile now & I guess I'm getting an answer I find hard to accept. I ask you dear friends to pray for & with me for any ideas that I can make this calling a reality.
Here's the situation......
I'm the flutest & in the choir of our praise team at church but there have been many things preventing me doing this & it's making me very down hearted & discouraged. I love being a part of this team I truely feel a calling for it but part of me is starting to question that calling because of the hard time I'm having fulfilling my commitment.
1st my work was preventing me from doing this & in some ways still is but not like they used to. My boss hasn't told me to "**** church" lately. Sure I have to go after working a 11pm - 7am shift but that's the only way they will give me Sundays off like I was promised to have when I started working there. I can handle that cause the Lord give me the energy I need to Praise Him.
2nd Todd's work has prevented him a new christian from going to church by his work schedule. Which also hinders my ability to play with the praise team because there is no one there before 1st service & sometimes during 1st service to watch Bradley.Todd works 9am - 2pm so that I can get at least a small nap in. by the time he gets home I've been up over 24 hours. Also on Thursday nights when we practice I cant go again cause I work till 3pm get home in time to say Hi & bye to Todd cause he has to go to work. I sometimes can have a friend watch him but most of the time she's unavailable. I've taken him with me a few times cause he really love music & song, but that doesnt work well cause he's only 3 & he want to see the drums, gutairs, piano & of course mommy's flute. we cant practice too well with him there. :( Although everyone loves our biggest fan & encourages him in his love for the Lord & music, it's not fair to everyone to disrupt pratice.
So you see tonight I'm more then alittle depressed that again I didnt get to go to practice & feel I'm going to have to tell them that I cant be on the team anymore. That really hurts but I dont know what other choise I have. So Please pray for me to find a possible soulution & if you have any ideas please let me know. All day today the song in my heart has been playing "Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say rejoice." I want to with the praise team but need a way how to.
Thanks for listening.
hugs,
Maggie
Malachi 3:3 says...
"He will sit as a Refiner and purifier of silver."
This verse puzzled some women in a Bible study and they wondered what this statement meant about the character and nature of God. One of the women offered to find out the process of refining silver and get back to the group at their next Bible Study.
That week, the woman called a silversmith and made an appointment to watch him at work. She didn't mention anything about the reason for her interest beyond her curiosity about the process of refining silver.
As she watched the silversmith, he held a piece of silver over the fire and let it heat up. He explained that in refining silver, one needed to hold the silver in the middle of the fire where the flames were hottest as to burn away all the impurities.
The woman thought about God holding us in such a hot spot; then she thought again about the verse that He sits as a refiner and purifier of silver.
She asked the silversmith if it was true that he had to sit there in front of the fire the whole time the silver was being refined. The man answered that yes, he not only had to sit there holding the silver, but he had to keep his eyes on the silver the entire time it was in the fire. If the silver was left a moment too long in the flames, it would be destroyed.
The woman was silent for a moment. Then she asked the silversmith, "How do you know when the silver is fully Refined?"
He smiled at her and answered, "Oh, that's easy -- when I see my image in it".
God sees it necessary to leave his own in some difficult situations; but His eye is steadily intent on the work of purifying, and His wisdom and love are both engaged in the best manner for us. Our trials do not come at random, and He will not let us be tested beyond what we can endure. If today you are feeling the heat of the fire, remember that God has his eye on you and will keep watching you until He sees His image in you.
Life is a coin. You can spend it any way you wish, but you can only spend it once!
"There have been many angels in my life. And while they have not arrived with a blast of trumpets or a rustle of wings, I have known them just the same. They performed their acts in human disguise. Sometimes they borrowed the face of a friend, and sometimes they borrowed the face of a stranger. You have known them too I'm sure. When a friend called at just the right time to pull you out of the doldroms. Or when a total stranger, in passing, flashed you a needed smile. When just the smallest act of kindness made you feel appreciated. Sometimes even your cherished pet giving you a lick or a nuzzle at just the right minute, letting you know that you are loved. Yes, there are many angels in my life. And I just wanted to take this time to let you know that I consider you, my friend, to be an angel in human disguise. How many times you have been there for me when I needed you the most! I have always believed in angels but, you are living proof that there are angels among us here on earth."
You are a special angel in my life!

I wish I could take the credit for writing this. You all know how I feel about the angels in my life. I found this online and it seemed to say everything that I would like to have said.
Now, all my angels, get out there and spread your wings!!
hugs,
Maggie
ARE YOU JESUS?
This is really powerful and makes one think!!!!
A few years ago a group of salesmen went to a regional sales convention in Chicago. They had assured their wives that they would be home in plenty of time for Friday night's dinner. In their rush, with tickets and briefcases, one of these salesmen inadvertently kicked over a table which held a display of apples. Apples flew everywhere. Without stopping or looking back, they all managed to reach the plane in time for their nearly missed boarding.
ALL BUT ONE !
He paused, took a deep breath, got in touch with his feelings and experienced a twinge of compassion for the girl whose apple stand had been overturned. He told his buddies to go on without him, waved good-bye, told one of them to call his wife when they arrived at their home destination and explain his taking a later flight. Then he returned to the terminal where the apples were all over the terminal floor. He was glad he did.
The 16 year old girl was totally blind! She was softly crying, tears running down her cheeks in frustration and at the same time helplessly groping for her spilled produce as the crowd swirled about her, no one stopping and no one to care for her plight. The salesman knelt on the floor with her, gathered up the apples, put them back on the table and helped organize her display. As he did this, he noticed that many of them had become battered and bruised; these he set aside in another basket.
When he had finished, he pulled out his wallet and said to the girl, "Here, please take this $40 for the damage we did. Are you okay! ?"
She nodded through her tears. He continued on with, "I hope we didn't spoil your day too badly." As the salesman started to walk away, the bewildered blind girl called out to him, "Mister...." He paused and turned to look back into those blind eyes. She continued, "Are you Jesus?" He stopped in mid-stride and he wondered. Then slowly he made his way to catch the later flight with that question burning and bouncing about in his soul: "Are you Jesus?"
Do people mistake you for Jesus? That's our destiny, is it not? To be so much like Jesus that people cannot tell the difference as we live and interact with a world that is blind to His love, life and grace. If we claim to know Him, we should live, walk and act as He would. Knowing Him is more than simply quoting Scripture and going to church. It's actually living the Word as life unfolds day to day. You are the apple of His eye even though we, too, have been bruised by a fall. He stopped what He was doing and picked you and me up on a hill called Calvary and paid in full for our damaged fruit.
Let us live like we are worth the price He paid!
If the Lord has you on hold... hold on!
If the Lord has said "NO" to you... thank Him!
If the Lords is molding your heart and mind.. go with His change!
If the Lord opens doors that you have asked Him to open... Praise Him!
Be blessed wherever you are in your life today! God has His hands on the situation!

A Seminary professor was vacationing with his wife in Gatlinburg, Tennessee .
One morning, they were eating breakfast in a little restaurant, hoping to enjoy a quiet, family meal. While they were waiting for their food, they noticed a distinguished looking, white haired man moving from table to table, visiting with the guests.
The professor leaned over and whispered to his wife, "I hope he doesn't come over here." But sure enough, the man did come over to their table.
"Where are you folks from?" he asked in a friendly voice.
" Oklahoma ," they answered.
"Great to have you here in Tennessee ," the stranger said. "What do you do for a living?"
"I teach at a seminary," he replied.
"Oh, so you teach preachers how to preach, do you Well, I've got a really good story for you."
And with that, the gentleman pulled up a chair and sat down at the table with the couple. The professor groaned and thought to himself, "Great, just what I need--another preacher story!
The man started, "See that mountain over there?" (pointing out a restaurant window). "Not far from the base of that mountain, there was a boy born to an unwed mother. He had a hard time growing up, because every place he went, he was always asked the same question. "Hey boy, who's your daddy?"
Whether he was at school, in the grocery store or drug store, people would ask the same question. "Who's your daddy?"
He would hide at recess and lunchtime from other students. He would avoid going into stores because that question hurt him so much.
When he was about 12 years old, a new preacher came to his church. He would always go in late and slip out early to avoid hearing the question, "Who's your daddy ?"
But one day, the new preacher said the benediction so fast, he got caught and had to walk out with the crowd. Just about the time he got to the back door, the new preacher, not knowing anything about him put his hand on his shoulder and asked him, "Son, who's your daddy?"
The whole church got deathly quiet. He could feel every eye in the church looking at him.
Now everyone would finally know the answer to the, question, "Who's your daddy?"
The new preacher, though, sensed the situation around him and using discernment that only the Holy Spirit could give, said the following to the scared little boy.
"Wait a minute!" he said. "I know who you are. I see the family resemblance now. You are a child of God."
With that, He patted the boy on his shoulder and said. "Boy, you've got a great inheritance. Go and claim it."
With that, the boy smiled for the first time in a long time and walked out the door a changed person. He was never the same again. Whenever anybody asked him, "Who's your Daddy?" he'd just tell them, I'm a child of God."
The distinguished gentleman got up from the table and said, "Isn't that a great story?"
The professor responded that it really was a great story!
As the man turned to leave, he said, "You know, if that new preacher hadn't told me that I was one of God's children, I probably would never have amounted to anything!" And he walked away.
The seminary professor and his wife were stunned. He called the waitress over and asked her, "Do you know that man who just left that was sitting at our table?"
The waitress grinned and said, "Of course. Everybody here knows him. That's Ben Hooper. He's the former governor of Tennessee !"
Someone in your life today needs a reminder that they are one of God's children.
"The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the Word of God stands forever." Isaiah 40:8
YOU'RE ONE OF GOD'S CHILDREN.
I SEE THE RESEMBLANCE.
