I have an URGENT prayer request. A goodfreind of ours was cutting down a tree with his son when it fell the wrong way. Larry was air lifted to the hospital. 18 year old Chandler, 8 year old Ansley , 4 year old Braxton. We believe the injuries to the younger children to be minor. Larry was complaining of back pain. There are 9 children all total in this family, Please be in prayer for them. God bless, Jay
Free yard sale ! What ? I know items at a yard sale should be cheap, but free...at least that was what I was thinking last Sunday when my pastor first announced it at church. Then as he explained it I got all exited ! This will be a county wide event, as many churches as we can get involved. Denominatins do not matter-only Jesus. Everyone is to start collecting items such as clothing, food, toys, toiletries, linens, ect...They will all be taken to one central location. A large church downtown. Then the good part. Each family will be invited into the sanctuary where personal information will be gathered. Names, addresses, phone numbers, church attended, needs, ect...They will then be led to a classroom by family where they will be witnessed to. Finally they will be taked to the gym where they will find God has met all their needs. Free food, clothing, ect... What a wonderful new way to spread the word and help the needy. God is soooo good. Serving Him daily, Jay Our Free Yardsale was yesterday, (Sat. March 24,2007) so I thought I would give an update of how it went. I had a group at camp and was unable to attend it but this is what I was told. 131 families attended consisting of 403 individual people of all ages. Every one herd the word of God and at the very least have had a seed planted. There were 9 people who recieved Christ yesterday as a result of the yardsale.They will be followed up by which ever church is closest to them (unless they specified a particular church or denomination. There were 15 churches of various denominations involved and it was a blessing to those serving as well as those served. This was a wonderful witnessing tool and I pray that it will be used again. When i say..."I am a Christian" I'm not shouting"I'm clean livin." I'm whisperin "I was lost," Now I'm found and forgiven. When I say..."I am a Christian" I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide. When I say... "I am a Christian" I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak and need HIS strength to cary on. When I say..." I am a Christian" I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I've failed and need God to clean up my mess. When I say..." I am a Christian" I'm not claiming to be perfect, my flaws are way too visible but, God believes I'm worth it. When I say..." I am a Christian" I still feel the sting of pain' I still have my share or heartaches so I call upon His name. When I say..." I am a Christian" I'm not holier than thou, I'm just a simple sinner who recieved God's good grace, somehow.
THE NEW SCHOOL PRAYER
Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule.
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.
If Scripture now the class recites,
It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head I bow
Becomes a Federal matter now.
Our hair can be purple, orange or green,
That's no offense; it's a freedom scene.
The law is specific, the law is precise.
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.
For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all.
In silence alone we must meditate,
God's name is prohibited by the state.
They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.
We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.
It's "inappropriate" to teach right from wrong,
We're taught that such "judgments" do not belong.
We can get our condoms and birth controls,
study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles.
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed.
No word of God must reach this crowd.
It's scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school's a mess.
So God, please listen when I cannot speak,
And hold my hand through school, all week.
