Krissy Gordon received her first standing ovation at age 7 and wrote her first song at age 8. Yet despite her gift for singing and writing, Krissy, paralyzed with fear, doubt, and insecurity avoided the spotlight for 18 years. Then, in 1998, Krissy was inspired to write her first Contemporary Christian song, "The Answer". However, still struggling with feelings of inadequacy, Krissy was content to "bury" these God-given talents. Four years later, Krissy had a "spiritual awakening" that caused her to recommit herself to God and pursue His will for her life. With love and thanksgiving to God for His saving grace and transforming power, many subsequent songs were birthed in Krissy's heart. God began to show Krissy that He wanted her to use the songs and voice He had given her to spread His message to the world. Of course, this was the last thing that she thought she would or could ever do; but, He reminded her that it is "not by power or by might but by His Spirit", and that she is just the vessel…the means to carry His message to the world. Krissy also began to understand that her fears were self-imposed and her gifts were meant to bless others and bring glory to God.
With this new revelation knowledge, Krissy started leading worship at church and immediately saw how God was using her to minister to others. Many subsequent singing opportunities followed, including performing "The National Anthem" at local ball games and ministering through song to the homeless, needy, widowed, hungry and lost in the local community. Krissy continues to touch people everywhere with her God-inspired songs and her personal testimony. Since the October 2006 release of Krissy's first 5-song EP, "WINDOWS TO THE SOUL" , Krissy's songs have been topping the charts in the Funk, Pop, R&B, Country and Contemporary Christian genres. "Surrender" has been 1 on the unsigned Christian Artist chart and has been recently selected for inclusion on the compilation CD, "Care Packages for Our Troops", which raises money for U.S. Soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan. "The Answer" was chosen as "music that heals" by Blue Pie Productions for the Hurricane Healing Project and earned Krissy the title of "Songwriter of the Month" by the Christian Songwriter's Network. Krissy was also named by SingerUniverse as one of the five finalists in "The "Best Vocalist of The Month" Competition for March 2007 and on Indevo Records' recently released compilation CD as of the "Christian Artists to look for in 2007".
Krissy's motto is, "we can live in the world but not be part of it. This is a journey not a destination. We can choose to go along for the ride or we can take a stand and pursue the things of God that He has pre-ordained and pre-destined for each of us." "I continue to soar on my journey, taking the Lord by the hand and following Him as He leads me to new heights, new depths and new horizons. It's exciting to see what the Lord has in store for me next. May my eyes always be opened to see His truth, my ears always open to hear His voice, and may my mouth always profess His love."
