Jesus In Hell

Where in the bible specifically does it say that Jesus went to hell and took the keys from Satan? I know in Rev. 1:18, Jesus says he has the keys, but where does it say he took them? I can't seem to find it.  I found where Jesus told Peter he would give us the keys but not where Jesus took the keys.  Does that make sense?

I am not questioning where Jesus went when he died, I am looking for the verse that says that Jesus took the keys from Satan when he died.

Thanks for the help, though :)

Jesus always had the key's he did not get them from the devil. The only thing that the devil had was you and me, but Jesus set us free. Adam and Eve turned mankind over to the devil through their act of disobediance, and Jesus bought us back through laying his life down as a ransome.

Jesus did not go to Hell.  He did not "take us from the devil."  We were held captive to sin, not the devil.  Jesus ransomed us from being destroyed by God.

We see in Hebrews 2:14 (KJV)
    Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;

"Satan had the power of death, that is the devil". It is not only the death, but him that had the power of death, and the word "power" there is neither the familiar word: "dunamis" - force, nor: "exousia" - authority, but it is the other word: "kratos", which means 'to hold'. It is the grip of death; the one who holds in his hands death, the one who has the hold of death; and in that connection the Blood speaks concerning him, that through death - and the Lord Jesus getting for a moment into the hold, the grip of death - He should destroy him that had the hold of death, that is the devil.
By this we must understand if one has a hold on death then Jesus must have taken that power from him when he went to hell to free the captives in Abrahams Boosom.
So maby this was or wasnt symbolic of the Keys.
Be Blessed

Matthew 12:40 (KJV)
For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

Ephes. 4:8-10 (KJV)
Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. [9] (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? [10] He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)

Hebrews 2:14-15 (KJV)
Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; [15] And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

.....

None of those verses point to Christ going to Hell.  I mean, if you're going to support an abberrant doctrine, at least do so with the appropriate verses.

Abrahams Boosom / The Captives were in Hell

Luke 16:22-26 (KJV)
And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; [23] And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. [24] And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. [25] But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. [26] And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.

....Once again, this does not prove that Jesus went to Hell.  Hebrews says that through DEATH He destroyed the works of the devil.  This makes two points:

1.  Death on a cross is the death in view here.  Do not eisogete the passage.

2.  Destroying the works of the devil does not equal going to Hell.  Fail.
