hey. Im kristen, im 13 years old, and my parents devourced 3 years ago. My dad left the family for another woman. 3 years is a long time ago but it still hurts. my mom is in need of help more than any of us. My sister and I are all she's got left. It's so easy to pray for your needs, but why is it so hard to thank God every once in a while. And I just pray that people will relyze that. Thank you so much for reading my request.

Oh Kristen... I'm sorry that you and your family are going through this. Divorce is never easy! My ex and I are divorced and when he and I first seperated... my boy's took it really hard. That was 5 years ago and they're doing so much better now. So please know that you and your Mom aren't always going to feel this bad! For the longest time I had the following "Children's Bill of Rights" posted on my refridgerator so that my boy's knew that it's ok for them to Love their Dad and continue to have a close relationship with him despite the break-up. You and your family will be in my prayers!!!

In Christian Love, JOY

  1. The right not to be asked to "choose sides" or be put in a situation where I would have to take sides between my parents.

  2. The right to be treated as a person and not as a pawn, possession or a negotiating chip.

  3. The right to freely and privately communicate with both parents.

  4. The right not to be asked questions by one parent about the other.

  5. The right not to be a messenger.

  6. The right to express my feelings.

  7. The right to adequate visitation with the non-custodial parent which will best serve my needs and wishes.

  8. The right to love and have a relationship with both parents without being made to feel guilty.

  9. The right not to hear either parent say anything bad about the other.

  10. The right to the same educational opportunities and economic support that I would have had if my parents did not divorce.

  11. The right to have what is in my best interest protected at all times.

  12. The right to maintain my status as a child and not to take on adult responsibilities for the sake of the parent's well being.

  13. The right to request my parents seek appropriate emotional and social support when needed.

  14. The right to expect consistent parenting at a time when little in my life seems constant or secure.

  15. The right to expect healthy relationship modeling, despite the recent events.

  16. The right to expect the utmost support when taking the time and steps needed to secure a healthy adjustment to the current situation.

Aww sweetie, I know how it is with the wounds that never seem to heal. But you know what? They do, even when it doesn't seem like that. I pray that God will bless you and your sister and your mom. I pray He'll help you stay strong. And yes, we must thank Him even during difficult times, it's how we can glorify Him.

I send a big hug your way (might take a while to get it, lol).

Antonela.

He is my Savior and the Redeemer of my soul!!!

well, it's been awhile since I've been on, but I just want to thank those who have prayed for me about the family situation. I'm still struggling here and there with staying in contact with my dad, but since it's Thanksgiving, I'd like to thank God for everything. Through this trial I've come to realize that there are so many blessings along the way. If my parents never divorced, I wouldn't have moved to TN. so therefore I may have never gotten saved. I got to church now! I'm involved with a youth group! ANNND I've been called to go into the mission field, who would've ever thought that!?!? God has blessed my mom, my sister, and myself so much through the years, It's almost been 5 years since this all happened and we still pray for my dad, and I hope that you all still pray for me aswell. I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and I truley thank God that you read my prayer request 2 years ago and became a friend of mine. Thank you. God bless.

p.s I'll be getting on more often so hopefully we can catch each other and maybe talk a little bit! :)
