I work in an emergency room and pray each day that God will let me be a positive influence in at least one persons life that day. I have recently come back to the church and am struggling to take that final step of doing what I know God wants me to do as far as my life and my example. I was married two weeks ago to the most wonderful woman who is a strong christian and I know it is the seed of a wonderful plan God has for our lives yet I still resist. Please pray that God will help me to be strong and stand up. Also please pray that I will be used at work to help others through this hard time a lot of people face around the holidays. Tragedy and sadness seem to be a lot more prevalent around the holidays and it is easy to get sucked in. I want to be a pillar for my family and for others. Thank you in advance for your prayers and support.

I, too, work in the health care field.  It *is* hard to find and radiate joy when all around you is sickness and sadness.  But that is our particular calling and God will give you the gifts needed to fulfill your vocation to your family and your work.

“The Lord will guide you always;
he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land
and will strengthen your frame…” Isaiah 58:11

Father God,
Thank you that you have promised the Lord will guide me always, not just when I am up and on track, but always. Today I lean hard on that and ask you to continue to show me the way to walk. Father, sometimes I feel like a sun-scorched land…but you promise to meet my needs even there. Today I acknowledge I need you. I am parched and I look to you to give me emotional strength… spiritual insight… and physical stamina. You even promise to strengthen my frame. Thank you Father that your tender care encompasses all of me. Help me to draw on that today and to praise you for it!
