Yes, rescued from the jaws of defeat. For 15 years, I lived a defeated, aimless, fearful life. Mom and dad are Chinese-Filipino. But we carry with us various Chinese traditional beliefs that I realized, have crippled me spiritually for years. In 1992, 15 years after living a defeated life, my eldest brother shared Jesus to me in our room. It was summer, and I had a lot of free time back then. As I sat down on my study table and listen to him preach to me, I just realized how I have lived a wasted life all those years. Though I wasn;t the type of teenager who got hooked into drugs or something, I just felt inside of me that I was dirty, though at the time I heard the Gospel shared to me, I sensed in me God calling me to surrender my life to Him. It was a moment I couldn't understand, but as my brother challenged me to give my life to Christ, I didn't hesitate but willingly submitted my whole life to Jesus. The battle just started the moment I gave my life to Jesus in 1992. Lust, fear, anger and deep-seated insecurity came out and tried to eat my spiritual body again, but as I began developing my spiritual disciplines, I battled my way through these with the help of my brother and other new found freinds from our church (Victory Christian Fellowship). 15 years later, I am now serving the Lord in full-time capacity as one of the youth pastors in our church. I praise our Lord because by His grace, I can write these things to everyone who can view this description about me, that God is SOOOO GOOD! Indeed, nothing else in thie world could fill your heart. Only Jesus!
