Crossroads
Posted On 12/17/2006 22:30:19 by George_G

Sometimes in life, we come to a crossroads.  If you haven't yet, just keep on living, and you will eventually come to a place, a proverbial fork in the road, where a choice is standing  there demanding to be made.  There are consequences to both decision and indecision.  I read a quote once that says, "Indecision is the choice to forfeit all of your options."  When you don't choose, you are - in fact - choosing to allow circumstances to dictate your destiny.

I've been in the decision-making posture for the past few months.  It is an uncomfortable place to be.  The decisions I've had to make are of such magnitude that they could not be entered into hastily.  I had to sit back and quantify the reality of the situation versus my illusions of "what I wanted."

These decisions have caused and will continue to cause me to be separated from those who I called friend.  My decision to be a mature son (in the biblical sense), and do what was right for destiny - even in the face of enough cirucmstancial evidence to support a decision for the opposite - has caused those who were close to me to distance themselves from me.

But...I do not regret my decision.  That's truly the one thing in this life that we as indivuduals have...our choices.  We choose to submit to God.  We choose to submit to our spouses and leaders.  We choose whether to be fully led and guided by the Spirit of God or to be led by our own carnal thinking.  I chose to follow God, and inevitably dealt a lethal blow to my own preconceived notions about what is or isn't right for me.  When I gave my life to Christ, I CHOSE to allow Him to override and supercede my own inclinations.  I CHOSE to allow the Holy Spirit of God to lead and guide me into ALL truth...the truth that only He knows.

Although my flesh (my carnal nature) does not understand the mature, spiritual choices that I have made in recent times, I am comforted by the fact that these choices have led me directly into will of the Father.

Shalom,
