repentance

tears of sorrow
tears of regret
slip down my face

and I'm on the altar before You
confessing my stagnant life
crying for Your fire
to burn through me once again

living water

vengeance boils
wrath deserved
in thoughts thrown
with intentions of
  physical harm

how dare he hurt me

fire in my soul
cup of retribution
pouring my anger
scouring from my eyes

how dare he hurt me

silent prayers come
spitting from my heart
living water
has quenched my thirst
for revenge

the Spirit burns

Like a fire blazing through me
burning away all that I concieve
all that my mind believes and my heart feels
comes the Spirit of God into my life

and I am torn apart by it

desires for the death of self
surrender complete to the King
to the guiding light, power, and
all consuming Truth

all I have felt and known
becomes chaff for the fire
as I begin to see what remains
has been purified

Jesus' shoulders

when you feel sad
and want to burst out in tears
come, cry on these shoulders

when you feel tired
from the trials of life
come, rest on these shoulders

when you feel sick
and there is no healing
come, find it on these shoulders

when you feel thirsty
from the desert of life
come, find water on these shoulders

when you feel lonely
and seem to have no friend
come, find love on these shoulders
