freecell

sometimes I wish it were just as easy to clear my heart of the sin that often seems to abound as it were to clear the statistics in the game of freecell. With just one mouse click I can completely erase the horror of my loss and ineptitudes. But when you think about it, I can. The blood of Jesus is the same. With one cry of repentence to God, His blood covers the list of sin in my heart with forgiveness; not because of what I do, but because of what the blood accomplished 2000 years ago.

but still I find this sobering truth in it all. Though His blood can
cleanse me and restore me, it cannot change me if I do not submit my heart to it! If I am cleansed and do not work at becoming better, do not submit my heart to the glorious work of sanctification and holiness, I will only find my heart and life in the same position of uncleanness again next week. So with the perfect work of the cross, the perfect forgiveness, the perfect fresh start to a life built with flaws, there must be worked in me, at the same time, a perfect surrender.

not just a surrender of the horrible parts of who I am. not just a surrender of my sin. a surrender of my heart, my life, my good intentions and desires, and my will. All must be put on the altar for the Lord Jesus before my life will change. A half-hearted plea to God to ease my conscience will not suffice! I must be full well, as a soldier, to not question God's desire, but to surrender to His words with my whole being. When He says go, to go. When He says wait, to wait. Only then
can His blood work in my life to it's capacity.
