I was sitting in the library at school today doing my volunteer work and a fifth grade class came in. There is a child in this class named Chris that started coming to my church because I go there. I was sitting there and all of a sudden a book thudded on the table beside me and Chris said, "Look what somebody put in Mr. Booth's box for me". It was a beautiful blue Bible. He was smiling from ear to ear. He opened it up and there was no inscription on the page where you write in who gave it you and when. Totally anonymous!
I ooohed and awwwed over his new Bible and he told me that he loves it and is going to take good care of it. I somehow get the feeling that he thinks that I did it. It wasn't me and I have no earthly idea who gave him that Bible, but I know that they will be richly blessed!
The thing is that Chris must have been doing a lot of talking about church for somebody to feel moved to do this for him. I hope that they got the chance to see his smiling face and the light coming from him. I hope that they got to see this child carrying his new Bible around in a public school showing it to everybody.
I am thanking God for this person who would give a school child a Bible and for the teacher who got it out of his box took it to him. I just get a warm fuzzy feeling just writing about it.
I will talk to Chris at church and let him know that it wasn't me and that whoever it was, he needs to be thanking God for them.
Like I always say, "My God is an Awesome God!"
