“How are you Stanton?” Mathew asked as the man turned to face us.
“I am doing well, but do I know you?” Stanton asked as I watched Mathew wheel himself towards the large balcony outside with Stanton following. Well, that’s one way to start a conversation with someone you don’t know personally. I thought as I heard Megan’s voice in my earpiece.
“Mikayla is near the band playing. You want me to help you with your moves? Or do you think you can at least get her to dance with you?” Megan asked. I tried to hold in a smile as I made my way to Mikayla. A very young woman who looked to be still I college; dark brown hair to her shoulders with a petite frame. A bright white dress moving slowly on the floor as she swayed to the music.
“May I have this dance?” I asked giving a little bow and holding out my hand. Shocked Mikayla nodded and smiled as she took my hand. The band started playing a slow song as the thought of holding this woman against my body felt a little nerving.
“You look somewhat familiar, have we met before?” Mikayla asked as she wrapped her arms around my neck.
“I don’t think so, why do you say that?” I asked trying to keep the conversation going.
&nb sp; ى I let the man guide me as the music played. “May I inquire on to whom you are here for?” The man asked as I smiled a deep satisfaction.
“Dominic Mienster.” I replied giving just enough away.
“Dominic?” The man questioned, immediately changing his tone to business.
“I have an innovation to talk to him about.” I said as the man’s eyes settled on my tattoo.
“What business do you have with Dominic?” The man asked as I heard Megan’s voice in my ear.
“On your right!” I glanced to my right at a striking young man with broad shoulders.
“I’m just an old friend, would you excuse me?” I said moving towards Dominic. Surprisingly the man let me go. I smoothly and majestically moved towards Dominic who held a wine glass while watching the dancing couples. “Jealousy is a dangerous temptation.” I said leaning against a white pillar a few feet away from him. Dominic glanced my way and smiled.
“Well, I wouldn’t expect it to last too long.” Dominic replied sipping his glass of red wine. I smirked and slowly walked towards him.
“Don’t flatter yourself.” I said stopping behind him and coming up to his ear. “You know it all too well.” I whispered walking past him.
“You, little tramp.” Megan’s voice vibrated in my earpiece.
&nb sp; ى “You know, I always love the way a business man does his dealings.” I said sitting down on an antique chair as Angus closed the double doors. I heard the click of a lock as Angus turned towards me. Bold yet flattering. I thought as Angus slowly stepped forward. My hand automatically went to my thigh as Angus casually walked around me.
“And how does he do it?” Angus asked seductively as I felt his hand slide on my shoulder. I slowly stood pushing his hand off my shoulder and walked towards the open window, out looking to a lavish garden in back. I smiled and slid my hand up my dress pulling my gun off its holster. My eyes were trained on the beautiful fountain in the middle of the garden as I heard a hushed gasp escape from Angus.
“Isn’t this fun? I wish I had the experience you do with commerce.” I said walking towards Angus while keeping my eyes on the fountain; with my gun trained on Angus.
“What do you want? Name your price.” Angus conveyed as the sound of a pen clicked.
&nb sp; ى “You seem so oddly familiar, I know your face….I just cant place where we met before.” Mikayala said as I felt Megan’s voice almost break my eardrum.
“What’s wrong with you If William found out she remembers you, he’ll shoot you himself! You better get to the point and fast!” My jaw tightened as Mikayala studied my face.
“I’m a distant friend?” I replied chuckling. Mikayala smiled and I watched her blush. We kept moving as the music directed us along the floor. “I was wondering why people choose the wrong way to do things instead of the right way.” I said as a puzzled look came across her face.
“Well, why would people choose the wrong way?”
“Now, your just repeating my question.” I said smiling. Mikayala gave a frown and glanced outside in the garden.
“You think we could take a walk?” she asked as I smiled and guided her to the doors.
&nb sp; &nb sp; ى “Stanton…we have known each others existence for a long time. Your jealousy, hatred and revenge have desecrated the life you once had.” Mathew started as he wheeled himself to the other side of Stanton. Stanton kept his hands in his pockets, but kept his stare on Mathew’s movements.
“Why do we have a government?” Mathew asked as he glanced into the garden below them. Mikayala and Kyle were taking a little stroll.
“To control a country.” Stanton replied as the sound of a click made Mathew turn to a dark corner of the balcony.
“Mr. Mennings. I presume you see the death penalty as legal?” A familiar voice said in the blackness. A sleek grin crossed Mathew’s face as he stared down at his legs.
“Yes I do.” Stanton replied turning to the figure stepping out of the darkness.
“And who will you judge to receive this penalty?”
“Anyone I deem proper to fit the judgment.” Stanton shot back. The haughty laugh made Mathew look up and gape at the shadowed face of Widow.
&nb sp; &nb sp; ى I walked onto the dance floor and started moving to the slow rythmetic music. Closing my eyes and Visualizing my partner with me, the feeling of soft skin connected with my hands. I opened my eyes to Dominic’s sensual smile.
“You look so comfortable out here on the dance floor.” Dominic said twirling me in a circle. Very smooth. …I thought giving Dominic an innocent look.
“I still love to dance. It feels so good when I’m out here…It probably sounds silly, but I cant help it...It s just the music.” I replied glancing behind me at Mathew. Dominic smiled and nodded, gazing into my eyes.
“Darling, who is this?” I turned to face Mathew who had a bewildered look on his face.
“This is Dominic.” I replied giving them both innocent looks. “Dominic….this is Mathew my fiancé.” I replied as the shock of the statement took Dominic aback.
