For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us….. Romans 8 v 18
Paul was a very zealous religious leader and then he had an encounter with Jesus himself not only did he lose his sight but was humbled before all the other followers of Jesus. Paul accepted this, he did not fight against it. He has been transformed and his heart stilled before the presence of the Lord, then he regained his sight again both physically and spiritually.
Together with his testimony of Jesus Paul was then sent to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ too all who would listen.

I can always remember as a child sitting on a donkey called Patsy. They are such adorable creatures, small, inconsequential yet Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey.
He could have chosen a magnificent horse, or a parade of exotic animals with a gold chariot but no, Jesus Christ, the Son of God chose a donkey. Every time I read this it amazes me and humbles me.
The one who flung stars into space, who created light and dark. The very God who created everything that we see, including our selves, rode a donkey!
Jesus became a servant to us to show us how to serve one another. The first being last and the last being first. Since Satan fell because of his pride Jesus shows us the greatest humility. Humility is the greatest strength.
The disciple Peter balked at having his feet washed and it wasn’t until Jesus told him that unless he washed his feet he could have no part of Jesus.
Many believe Jesus to be just a good man, many even say His name but do not really know him.
“I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me-” John 10 v 14.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God.” John 1 v 1
“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name”…. John 1 v 13.
Are you going to let Jesus wash your feet so you can be part of Him?

I came across a very old hymn this morning and the words so struck me, I’ll just share them with you.
THERE IS A GREEN HILL FAR AWAY
OUTSIDE A CITY WALL
WHERE THE DEAR LORD WAS CRUCIFIED
WHO DIED TO SAVE US ALL.
WE MAY NOT KNOW, WE CANNOT TELL,
WHAT PAINS HE HAD TO BEAR,
BUT WE BELIEVE IT WAS FOR US
HE HUNG AND SUFFERED THERE.
HE DIED THAT WE MIGHT BE FORGIVEN,
HE DIED TO MAKE US GOOD,
THAT WE MIGHT GO AT LAST TO HEAVEN,
SAVED BY HIS PRECIOUS BLOOD.
THERE WAS NO OTHER GOOD ENOUGH
TO PAY THE PRICE OF SIN
HE ONLY COULD UNLOCK THE GATE
OF HEAVEN, AND LET US IN
O DEARLY, DEARLY HAS HE LOVED,
AND WE MUST LOVE HIM TOO,
AND TRUST IN HIS REDEEMING BLOOD,
AND TRY HIS WORKS TO DO.
(Cecil francs Alexander 1818-95)
