salvation
Posted On 02/24/2008 04:34:03 by JuBoi

I am penticostal and am still learning a lot. I have a question and am hoping someone can help me. I have a friend who is baptist. She told me that the reason she is baptist is because they believe "once saved always saved." She told me that she believes that you cannot lose your salvation.

That made me think. I believe that our walk with God should be renewed daily. If once saved always saved was true. (not saying that it's not) Then couldn't we ask God into our lives and then live how we please. If after, I commit murder, would I still make it into heaven?

God chose Moses to lead his people into the promise land. He talked to God and saw him face to face. But he disobeyed God when he struck the rock and didn't make it into the promise land. I do believe that he made it to heaven. But he missed out on the blessing of the promise land. I think that it is very easy to seperate ourself from Gods blessing.

Judas Got to walk with Jesus. Learn first hand of his teaching. Saw miracles with his own eyes. In the end he betrayed Jesus and gave him up to the romans for silver. He then hung himself. Suicide is a hard sin because you can't ask for forgiveness. It's too late. But according to once saved always save, you cannot lose your salvation, Judas would of made it into heaven.

In Matthew 7:22-23

22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity
KJV

How does that verse fall under the once saved always save, you cannot lose your salvation. Wouldn't you have to have salvation to do works in Gods name? Then why would Jesus tell them to depart? Why would Jesus worn us? Did they lose thier salvation?

I don't know much about the baptist faith. I'm not saying that baptist are wrong or they are not going to heaven. I just want to see what others believe, and if I'm wrong, someone to set me staight. Please don't think that I am judging or take it to offence. I just want to find an awnser.  Scripture is always the best way, but not sure where to look.  Someone help.
