Mary is doing much better from the emergency c-section and the complications with Ryan’s delivery. All is mostly well now for us. Ryan is only getting up and crying at night less than 40% of the time now. He is still teething... poor little guy and we at times feel so helpless, as in how many more teeth can there be room for, it seems full to me…. Mary’s new pay structure has left us a $300 deficit a month and we are also losing our Kaiser health insurance, they have been so good to us. We do not know what company will replace it, but it has a very high deductible, $1,000 or more so we have to pay out of pocket all of Ryan’s and ours health care and doctors visits and if you have young children you know what that means. We are also struggling with plumbing problems again, this time we were woken up in the middle of the night by Ryan yesterday (10/12) then noticed a loud curious water noise, what can that be, we wondered as our backyard and under our house was being flooded…With little resources to fix it, we may be out of water for a while. So we will make the best of is, be camping with wipes and bottled water for a while, what fun-lol. This seems silly to even to mention as nothing like the struggles that our colleagues in south Asia are facing...
Ryan is saying a lot more words, and is very healthy and active, thank-you for your prayers. We are taking him to a “mommy and me” thing on Thursdays (Yes the dad does this and is the only dad there, oh boy!) and to the park, running off his enormous energies. His favorite thing and word is still kitty-kitty, kitty cat, still joyfully points to everything and says “what’s that?”…and now he says “ma’m” mom, mom, mom…LOL. He is doing well thanks to your prayers!
Richard has been teaching at a lot of conferences, and including the big “Gospel Com” for the Billy Graham Assoc. in Grand Rapids. This went very well, a lot of connections and opportunities there plus he learned some new things on internet ministry. Even though Into Thy Word is one of the first ministry’s on the web since 1994 (actually since 1989 to 1994 before the WWW using the “Argus and ARPANET net” sending Bible study resources to pastors in Russia via computer phone connections, in text only, at the Fuller Institute and Huntington Labs). The technology comes so fast we feel out of touch… The “daddy day care,” in the mornings is still on, hectic and fun, juggling a full time job at ITW, and part time teaching and pastor at large with no compensation at our church. We find ourselves very tired and life seems like we are sleepwalking, this I am told will slow down in 18 years-LOL. We keep our eyes focused on our Lord as our strength! We will send up some new pics, on the “JC site,” (a Christian “my space”) see link below, we can’t send them through this email newsletter, as they are too big and won’t go through my server. So please visit our online photo gallery I will be adding soon.
