Christians are letting me and my brother down.
Posted On 05/10/2007 20:58:01 by ArtNGame215

What do you normally see on a christian site's blogs? Prayer requests, praises to God, evidence of people trying to stop what we believe in maybe a couple of other things.

Do you ever see blogs with people complaining about the state of most Christians today?

Look around in your church. Are most people filled with fire for Jesus? Are they more than happy to talk about Jesus whenever? Are they Christian enough to notice those around them and willing to meet a new face? No, you almost never see that. Of course most Christians will never have that mindset. Maybe because they haven't had the experiences me and my brother have had. It's almost enough for me to stop going to church. How many churches do me and my brother have to deal with before we feel truly accepted and others know what goes on in our lives? Yeah, me and my brother don't get along with Christians very well it seems. We feel like outcasts among the youth and college groups. Whats going on? Are we not good enough to be around? Not fun enough? Something about us thats annoying? I watch all these young people and they seem to talk mostly about stuff that they could talk about with me, though it's mostly about some junk on tv or the movies. Or even when some do take the time to know us, I guess they make up their mind about me and my brother with what little they know about us. We just want to be accepted easily. We deserve to be someones close friend in a church.

Yeah, I know. We are not supposed to go to church to make friends. The main reason to go is to worship. But dang....I thought Christians were supposed to look out for each other!! I thought as the Bible says, "I am my brother's keeper". Not just with relatives, but with Christian brother and sister's too right?

See, last Wensday I went to the college career group. I sat next to someone that was sitting by himself as well. No one was talking to him, just like me. Unfortunally, my lame shyness got in the way. I regretted not getting to talk to him, getting to know him.

So I asked God to forgive me. I hate my shyness really. I bet it's the cause of making people think the wrong way about me, when theres a really fun guy behind all that just waiting to let himself go. But I swear to myself if I can see him again, I'll have the courage to walk up to him and talk to him and get to know him. But is that something most Christians are willing to do?

When you are in a group of other Christians, it is your duty to know as much of everyone as you can and be interested. God's word says that, look for it!

I just felt like ranting about the Christian state of how Christians don't seem to look out for each other. Or that they seem to only look out for certain people when there could be another that need to be looked out for close by.

I HAVE FOUND THAT ESPECIALLY TRUE AMONG THE ENLIGHTENED ONES WHO TALK IN TONGUES. I WAS RAISED A MENNONITE AND THE FELLOWSHIPS WAS GREAT, LIKE FAMILY ONE AND ALL, AND WHEN I WAS 23, I GOT MARRIED AND SWITCHED TO pentecostalism AND HAVE BEEN NOTHING BUT LONELY, SINCE, AS IF FELLOWSHIP AND EVEN LOVE STOPS AT THE DOORS OF THE CHURCH, AND EVERYBODY IS SO BUSY WITH "their MINISTRY", EVEN SO BUSY THEY MIGHT LEAVE GOD BEHIND. BUT I AM A SERVANT OF GOD WHO IS DETERMINED TO BREAK DOWN DENOMINATIONAL WALLS AND MERGE THE LOVE AND KINDNESS, THE FRUITS OF THE SPIRIT, WITH THE POWER AND GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT WITH THE INITIAL EVIDENCE OF SPEAKING IN TONGUES. LEAD, FOLLOW, OR GWET OUT OF THE WAY, IF I DON'T LIKE SOMETHING, I NEED TO MOVE TO CHANGE IT, AND I HAVE EATEN WORMS, I CHOOSE TO SURVIVE. EVEN PROVERBS SAYS THAT IF YOU WANT FRIENDS, BE A FRIEND, SO YOU ARE ION THE RIGHT TRACK. DON'T GIVE UP ON GOD, BECAUSE YOU HAVE A FRIEND IN JESUS WHO STICKS CLOSER THAN A BROTHER. I ONCE THOUGHT I WOULD LOVE TO BE A HERMIT, BUT GOD ASKED ME WHO I WOULD PREACH TO, AND WHEN I SAID THE ROCKS AND THE TREES, HE SIMPLY SAID, "WRONG." NO MAN IS AN ISLAND, WE ALL HAVE A PURPOSE, PEOPLE ONLY WE ARE ASSIGNED TO TOUCH THE LIVES OF, AND IF WE QUIT WE FAIL. WINNERS NEVER QUIT AND QUITTERS NEVER WIN. JUST DO IT.

I know exactly how you are feeling. Some of the "Christians" today are very disappointing. I believe if I call myself a Christian I should be representing Jesus. What drives me crazy is the guy that says he is a Christian out getting drunk or having sex with random girls. As Christians we really do have a higher standard to live up to than most. Don't give up on churches. Just keep trying different ones. Try not to get stuck on one denomination because you could surprise yourself and find a great church that you may not have considered because of demonination. I definitely think it's ok to go to church wanting to make friends. I am also very shy and I know that people tend to form opinions on why you are so quiet. Just pray that God will continue to work on this with you. Don't let that fire be put out by anyone. God bless!
