Think of something great you want to accomplish with your life.
What are the biggest obstacles keeping you?
My biggest obstacles are: Determination and Laziness…
Esther 4:4-17
Seldom are they reserved for the most powerful, most popular or most intelligent…
Six things to know on moments of greatness
- may come when least expected
- may not be recognized by many people
- may be scary
- it will influence your behavior
- it will impact those around you
- if you step into your moment of greatness it will altar your future
Moments of Disaster
These you will not be able to get back… to fix…
-- moments are increments of time—when one ends another begins….
-- more people hang onto the past, less likely they will grab onto the future
encouraged us to let go of the past, those things which hold you back from grabbing the future…
Gen 39:6-16
Steps to take between moments of greatness
- Heart: want to obey God at all cost: Luke 22:42-43
- Offer your body as a living sacrifice: Romans 12:1-2
- Remember all that God has done up to this point: Gen 45
- Kill pride by serving: Gen 45; Joshua never let his position cause him to have a big head, ego
Prepare for the moments of greatness
- Spiritual growth
- Mental growth; Col3:23
- Emotional growth (get the drama out of the church)
If your going to grow your going to have to build… anytime you have attempted to build something in your life there is always something/someone out there who wants to tear it down..
Opposition comes from:
1. Physical issues
2. People issues (they may have torn us down)
3. Personal issues (rubble left behind)
When something gets broken/demolition there’s rubble left behind. Dealing with rubble is usually the hardest thing… You can’t remove the rubble by yourself (with out God’s help)... however He isn’t going to remove it without you getting involved… you must ‘give’ it to God… He will not take it with out you handing it to Him…
Matthew 11:28-30: “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
This verse will encourage you to give your ‘rubble’ to God, so that there will be room for what God has for you…
We built an altar with stones signafying the start of getting rid of our rubble.....
