About the plain life, I have mingeled among the Amish, Mennonites, & also The Assemblies of Yahweh. I have visited some of them within their homes, enjoyed speaking with them and while living nearby I learned about their way of life.
I do not agree with the shunning or ex-communicating of a family member simply because that person made a mistake. That is not Biblical teaching, we are to forgive as Christ forgave us, we are not to judge because, we do not know the other person's heart.
I have witnessed some Plain People hurt most deeply because of not completely following the strict rules of a particular group, sometimes those who were hurt so bad they just disappeared, vanished never to be heard from again.
As far as that cloth covering, it should be a personal decision and not be forced on anyone by church leaders. Plain living and plain clothes are a big yes, I firmly believe in modesty and a woman's hair covering her head at all times in public. I cannot see the necessity for luxurious living when so many people are in need of food or shelter and loving concern. That is where I do agree with the plain peoples and their simple way of living as long as it is not taken to the extremes.
I myself live a simple life and avoid the worldly pleasures that many wish for. Our personal appearances and the way we live avoiding evil is a witness in it'self. I live my own life as close as possible to the teachings of the Holy Scriptures, what someone else has or is concerned with does not influence my way of living at all.
What I find of most important is knowing without any doubt that you are truly living a Godly life and that you are assured of your salvation.
If Yeshua had called yesterday, where would you be today?
Think about it.
