"undressed relationship"

How does my relationship to God look when all superficial stuff is gone, when all "holy language" disappears, completely undressed and without make-up? How does my relationship to Him look when all admireres are not watching, and I am not trying to be all nice and polished up?

What's left when I reduce it to what it really is?... Is there in fact a relationship left, or is my "imagined" relationship to God just stuffed with superficialities, traditions, dead religious actions?
