southern gospel such as : Mike Purkey, Walt Mills, Greater Vision, Gold City, Jeff & Sheri Easter, Legacy Five, The Crabb Family, Brian Free & Assurance, Crossway, Won By One, Tony Gore & Majesty, 'N Harmony, Plametto State Quartet, The Cathedrals, The Dove Brothers, The Bishops, Ivan Parker, and many others that lift up the name of our wonderful Lord and Saviour! I don't care at all for the contemporary Christian stuff...too mainstream and sounds just like the stuff on the radio. Give me the old hymns please ;-) I am also a sucker for 80's love songs....LOL.

The King James Bible, Created To Be His Helpmeet by Debi Pearl, Miserly Moms, Living on One Income in a Two Income World, Gooseberry Patch and Amish cookbooks, and Christmas Christian fiction. The Woman After God's Own Heart series by Elizabeth George isn't too bad either. I love books on learning new ways to be frugal and save money.

The materialism of this world is ridiculous. I am not trying to fit into this world, I am called to be seperated from it like the Bible says. I believe in closeness of the family. TV, radio, Internet, game systems, iPODS, MP3 players and all the hoopla along with other things has destroyed the bond between the family unit. It's time to reclaim what God has put together! It's time to go back to the old paths where life wasn't as chaotic and upside down. No, I am not Amish,Mennonite, Brethren, Quaker...just yet. ;-) However that is the way God is leading me and I could not be happier. I am different than most women. I don't drink, smoke, cut my hair, wear makeup or jewelry or pants. I don't do the whole tanning thing because it's just plain ridiculous. I don't wear designer clothing and don't have to have designer purses. Living simple is so much better than pretending or trying to get approval from the world. Can someone who has never met you, tell you are a Christian? Is there the love of God shining throughout you? Are your actions and deeds differnt than those of the world?
