Beggar's Promise was born through a ministry outreach called Celebrate Recovery. 'How' we came together wasn't planned by any of us, we simply offered what God had given each of us to help with a ministry that we all feel passionate about and joined in where He was already at work!

Taking place at the historic Wink Theater on Thursday nights, Celebrate Recovery reaches out through silent myopia to help free people from, not only addictions, but all types of hurts, habits, and hang-ups. The program is based on the twelve-steps, made popular through groups such as AA, but there is one twist Celebrate Recovery doesnt stop at the need of a higher power, but goes straight to the source of power itself Jesus Christ!

Currently, two of the members of Beggar's Promise are recovering addicts celebrating up to 14+ years of maintaining a drug-free lifestyle! So the very fact that God would place us as part of a ministry as Celebrate Recovery was a hand-in-glove fit and an encouraging place for us to start.

Through this Thursday night ministry, Beggar's Promise has been allowed to test their boundaries having its fair share of mistakes, rocky moments, laughs and, more importantly, support from a group that knows were not all perfect.

By working together to show God through the ministry, He has allowed us to pursue further areas in order to display His ability to carry the gospel to all people through music. Having had these opportunities to play in such diverse atmospheres and audiences has fueled our desire to grow the group for the work of Christ.

Musically, Beggar's Promise is primarily a praise & worship band but not like you might expect; the members have varied backgrounds of influences, styles, and experience that give us a unique sound all its own. Ranging from jazzy to energetic, our focus is to point to Christ and have a great time in the process; and what better reason we have life and have it more abundantly!
