The average player uses .09 gauge strings, even tuned down, thus releiving tension. This is a considerable differential tension wise. If you'd compare the two, you can say most players are pushing something with the tension of a licorishe strand, while Sergio Michel is stretching and bending the applicable equivalent of high tension steel suspension wire. This of course shows that Sergio Michel is a strong and proficient player, yet, his musical abilities do not end there.
