My biggest influences in music is undoubtedly hispanic christian artists like Danny Berrios, Doris Machin, and, as of late, Jesus Adrian Romero. As I began my walk with Christ, I was blessed with ability to express myself in song to God. Not necessarily in writing songs but singing, primarily in spanish. Although understanding it was not my calling, my heart still sings for him as I lead worship while a member in hispanic churches. Early on I've also dabbled with CCM artists such as Michael English, Carman, Sandy Patti & even The Imperials. But I've a fascination, & always will, for the Urban Gospel genre. All that would include what is known as Holy Hip Hop, Christian Urban Pop and last but not least Christian Latin Reggae otherwise known as Reggaeton Cristiano. I owe the ecclectic array of interests in music to our tenure (My wife & I) as youth pastors for 3 yrs in OK. In order to keep this generation interested in a God many understood as boring, I had to understand that what truly grabbed the attention of the youth in this generation was the fact that what they yearned for was music that was real to the Message. Not music created for the tapping of toes and wiggin' and waggin' of the derriere. Whether christian reggaeton, hip hop, or christian R & B, youth of this generation truly appreciates the real portrayal of the Message in a manner that does not compromise His Gospel. Its not ours. Well, people! I felt a little change was in order so here goes. I still believe to very blessed concerning myself. A wonderful woman by my side and children that are God sent. This year looks to have many blessings in store...I've just got to continue to "Let go and let God! Easier said than done but we've all experienced that at one point or another, right? What do you guys expect to see by the end of this year? I plan to see the hand of God in ways I never knew could happen. That is not only my desire...it is my hope and therein lies my faith. The Word tells us that faith without action is void, right? Well, I believe God is challenging all who read this exercise that faith ACTIVELY! What do you say to this. I would like to also take the time to be thankful for new relationships (Mari/Jil)...ones re-established & others not so successfully. No matter!! I leave those in God's hands. I've much to be thankful and I had to voice it. As for the New Year...bring it on!! Praise Him!! I could easily recant my favorite verse...instead I'll jot down one that has really affected my life as of late...check it out: "And he called unto him the multitude with his disciples, and said unto them, If any man would come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever would save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's shall save it. For what doth it profit a man, to gain the whole world, and forfeit his life? For what should a man give in exchange for his life? For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of man also shall be ashamed of him, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels. (Mar 8:34-38) TRUE SACRIFICE...TODAY'S REALITY!!

Sense of humor, integrity, and a sense of reality. Professionalism goes along way in all that we do. Youth ministry; I love to see the youth of this generation on fire for the Lord.

Non-fruit bearing youth in church. NOT being in the youth ministry anymore (God knows all things-He is the author of my life); The direction movies are taking these days; Christian artists beginning a career as gospel artists and end up "inspirational" artists (If you wish I'll elaborate upon request)
